These people treat the residence and their staff like garbage and fail to see what they are doing wrong. Don't adopt from here or send any of your kids here if you actually care about them or yourself. Everything behind these doors, is busted.

I worked for this company for less than 5 months. My position was fee for service and every check was short. They don't tell you which services were paid out so you wait until the next check and when that one is short they tell you that the billing is now too old and will not be paid. I was submitting 30 hours a week and after nearly 5 months I was short 50 hours. I worked with billing and when I have up they still owed me pay for 30 hours. $975 or one weeks pay just gone. They demoted my supervisor but that doesn't play my bills. Fighting to get paid for the hours I worked was miserable, don't work here.

Please do not use this agency. They have ruined the adoption process for me. First they make snap decisions without and factual information to support it. Then they criticize you for anything that does not fit into how they think you life should run. Then they do not support you through the process. If I could give it less then one star I would. Oh, they are great at drawing you in. But they smile in your face then plot behind your back. PLEASE do not do it to yourself!

I must admit how I can be a thorn. It's because I don't pull punches but it's midyear and the HR rep still hasn't filled clinician positions all because they're trying to save a buck. They've lost 4 schools! Losing clinicians daily due to the HR rep's ego! Helping children is a collaborative effort.

I would be so embarrassed to have this agency on my resume. They hired other staff from an abusive agency at this one. When are BLACK LIVES GOING TO MATTER

This place has gone down hill over the years. It is so hard to get in contact with my daughters BSC, who doesn't return calls and hasn't done a visit in months. She has had multiple TSS's, cause they don't come to work.
Communication here is horrible. It is hard to get in contact with the managers, who don't answer their phones and don't return calls. The services that my daughter has received over the past two years are horrible and not benefical to her at all. The only reason that I haven't gone to another agency, is because the process is to long and aggrevating. Northern really needs to get their act together..

About Northern Children's Services

Northern Children's Services: Supporting Healthy Children, Stabilizing Families

Northern Children's Services is a non-profit organization that has been providing support to children and families in need for over 170 years. The organization was founded in 1853 by a group of concerned citizens who recognized the need for services to help vulnerable children and families in Philadelphia.

Today, Northern Children's Services continues to provide a wide range of programs and services designed to support healthy children and stabilize families. The organization serves over 2,500 children and their families each year through its various programs.

One of the key programs offered by Northern Children's Services is its residential treatment program. This program provides a safe and supportive environment for children who have experienced trauma or other challenges that have impacted their mental health. The program offers individualized treatment plans that include therapy, education, recreation, and other activities designed to help children heal and develop the skills they need to succeed.

In addition to its residential treatment program, Northern Children's Services also offers community-based services designed to support families in their homes. These services include counseling, case management, parenting education classes, and other resources aimed at helping parents build strong relationships with their children while addressing any challenges they may be facing.

Another important aspect of Northern Children's Services' work is its foster care program. This program provides temporary homes for children who are unable to live with their birth families due to abuse or neglect. Foster parents receive extensive training and support from the organization as they provide nurturing homes for these vulnerable young people.

Northern Children's Services also operates an early childhood education center that serves infants through preschool-aged children from low-income families. The center provides high-quality care and education that prepares young learners for success in school while also supporting parents as they navigate the challenges of raising young children.

Overall, Northern Children's Services is committed to providing comprehensive support services that address the complex needs of vulnerable youth and families in Philadelphia. Through its various programs, the organization helps ensure that every child has access to safe housing, quality education opportunities, mental health resources when needed; all while working towards stabilizing family units so everyone can thrive together.
