we have been waiting for a garden waste bin for over a year, apparently they have none. This is not true pass the killingworth dept you see hunderds stacked up. we have phoned 4 times , a different story each timeeach time.
the strangest thing is 2 new householders have move in in the last few months , they have mysteriously have a brown bin.
north tyneside council are unbelievable. surly the sensible thing to do in a new housing estate , if all the houses have a garden issue a bin as they move in. The are quick with the council tax payment though.

I have just stood and watched the recycling wagon empty the black box full of glass in to the recycling bin well I will not be doing any more recycling why should I and other people keep the stuff separate and you the council come along and just empty it in the bin end of recycling for me everything will be put in the bin as from now and don't say the wagon is broke for recycling the glass heard this all before

As someone who does local community work on a voluntary basis, I've contacted the Environment Department with queries re. recycling. Each time speaking to and receiving e-mails from a Waste Management Officer called Heather Angus. Each time I've received polite, no-nonsense, realistic advice / guidance. Many thanks Heather.

I have left two telephone messages on the answer machine of the Environmental Health Dept and still no one has got back to me to explain why the bins on Whitley Bay prom opposite the Spanish City are not being emptied??? Easter weekend they were over flowing from Good Friday until the Tuesday when they were emptied and haven't been emptied since. A council van parked in the car park but didn't empty the bins. I feel the reason being is that the workers no longer have their little hide away in the toilets now so they don't pass. The rubbish has blown all down the grass verge onto the beach. It is shocking!

Does what it says on the tin. Excellent local schools, tidy environment, roads in decent repair. Sure there's issues, where doesn't have them, but overall very pleased with the local structure they provide

If I could rate them a zero I would. Made a complaint and the reply I get was that it was basically my fault that I hadn't received letters for appointments. They then have a cheek to say that it's important things get done then council fails to turn up for an appointment.

As other reviews, but I can't even get the right department!! To email them. There's a notice at the end of my street saying they are starting night time road repairs, TONIGHT! ! ARE THEY KIDDING!!!! I assume they mean during the night. I can't get in touch to ask them!!!! So to warned they may be coming to your street soon!!!

Horrible people to call regardless of what it regards, very disrespectful staff, takes forever to get through to anyone and when you do they just don't care at all no empathy or respect for the situation absolutely rubbish service.

As a local tradesman we are often parked outside the home of other people- we will almost always get a parking ticket within a few hours of being there. I have received a parking ticket for being parked outside a shop with the van engine running and the back doors open as we loaded it-
I once slowed to a stop to look into a shop and see if it was open - because I was near a loading bay I was fined by the little smart car driving the other way. it was 10:55 in the evening and the picture showed my car 2 feet from the kerb, engine running and me driving.
I once ran into a property to stop and repair a water leak pouring into someones kitchen. Got a fine



The list can go on . . I had my permit removed me because "the permit area in my street ends at my gate post". therefore all others park outside my house (non permit) and have no where to park as I don't have a permit.
but the important thing is that the council have enough money to support the sick and needy employees that extort us all by being paid for being off sick or on a training course to learn about coming to work and putting a shift in

Moving in staderds very poor no one contacted me to sort out repairs still waiting for repairs after 2 months in property replaced kitchen plinths window handles draw fronts myself combi boiler leaked bathroom radiator not working whole system replaced after I decorated loft not cleared bathroom sink leeks took 2 attempts to fix it roof tiles missing Gutters broken holes in concrete floor bathroom fan not working most repairs have been done I am grateful for that but had to take time off from work that I can't afford council coud have done better

A total joke. I have been calling and calling and calling for a total of 5 months and counting. Their so called 'service' is appalling. I have left several messages on answerphhones which are never returned. I have now been able to get the name of a supervisor to which his answerphone doesn't exist. I really don't know how a council can function if they can't serve the public.

Had to call up to solve a council tax bill 3 times and spent around 2 hours doing this, each time I was met with rude unhelpful staff. Seems like a waste of everyone's resources to have such arrogant unhelpful customer service staff.

Went into your customer service centre in north sheilds for help to be told flat out to go home go on line on a calculator..a calculator because you know there holds the answers and advice I want ...a calculator..not even a hint of looking into my situation on my account giving me the advice that I desperately need ,left a utter mess.. I need help ! so here's to my going home and GOING ON LINE... for the horrid cow who was probs thinking of her timing for her lunch before she was thinking of preventing someone being on the streets ...thanks so much for understanding I hope you choke on your ham sandwich or better still your manager might see this and think hang on she's at it again not doing her job ...training for her

NTC Arborist (Billie Taylor) came to my home at 8 am today to discuss the issue concerned. He was extremely helpful and friendly. He treated me, my home and my garden with respect, and listened to my problems. He is a real credit to NT Council and the wonderful team which looks after our trees and shrubbery. Thank you!

Just giving this restaurant zero marks the food what they serve is absolutely discussing last week I had fish and chip the fish was under cooked tasted like rubber chips where over cooked it was absolutely discussing and when I complain to the assistant manager she give my a dirty look walked away and turned round and give me the middle finger.. I was shocked to think a manager or supervisor could do that I think her name tag on her shirt was Leanne... please please avoid this horrible person.

I'm still living with the trauma I faced at this council.

What wonderful timing. Just as HM Govt. announces...

What wonderful timing. Just as HM Govt. announces another lockdown the Council starts taking down the cycle lanes. If there is one decent thing that NTC managed to do this year it was to have the courage to implement a scheme separating out walkers, cycles and cars at the sea front.
So now for the next lockdown we can look forward to a return to cyclists on the road yelling at frustrated motorists, pedestrians resuming altercations with cyclists on the pavements (shared or otherwise) and everyone else trying to social distance in a much reduced space when walking.
I gather the excuse was that traffic of all kinds will reduce from now on. If that s the case how about converting the car parks to play parks for local kids?

It's easy to see that the only people giving this ...

It's easy to see that the only people giving this organisation a 5* quite evidently work there, doing absolutely NOTHING all day. Since living in a North Tyneside council home my life has been nothing but hell. Although the staff at the customer first centre are brilliant, behind he scenes it seems as though a lot of people are being paid to waste time. After trying to phone my patch manager for over three weeks leaving several voicemails a day, I was completely ignored and forced to turn to a solicitor and mental health services. I was then slapped with a repossession order for losing my temper with mental health(not the council) by the council, and strongly believe they tried their best to engineer me from the property by insulting me over the phone, and passing patronising remarks to force yet another reaction. This seems to be an ongoing issue reported by not only me, but a vast amount of tenants. The other aspect of the negativity surrounding this public body is KIER North Tyneside. After recieving what is expected to be a ten year, 600 million pound contract I have been informed by them(and have video evidence) they have one damp assessor for the whole area. The damp assessor in question, Terry Brock, is absolutely hopeless at his line of work(an opinion shared by his peers) and after an initial flawed damp assessment when I moved in, finally confirmed damp. When shown the letter proving the previous damp assessment was clearly not adequate, I was told it was in fact now condensation not damp, and was told to just keep all my windows open. Bearing in mind I live in an area that is not the safest and also can not afford to run my heating 24/7. I was then refused help completely until an actual mushroom was growing from my ceiling. A team from KIER then came out, ripped my ceiling out, re-plastered it, and subsequently did not clean one inch of the black mould surrounding the area, which has slowly spread and cracked the ceiling again. I have been told to clean this myself, despite informing them I have asthma and being told by doctors this is dangerous. You might think what has KIER's problems have to do with the council. The answer would be none if they weren't their official repair partner, yet you get put through the whole ring the council/ring KIER/ring the council loop. At present, now there are also more serious issues at hand, myself along with my mental health worker have tried contacting my local patch manager for two weeks, to no avail. My advice to anybody looking for a council tenancy in north tyneside, hang yourself now and save yourself the prolonged trauma!

In addition, since writing this my experience has prolonged. My neighbors have been moved, but not because they assaulted me, not because projectiles were thrown at my house. It wasn't even because of the constant arguing that they would start for nothing, but because they have a child if I had to make an assumption, as my housing application was suspended for months, and coincidentally on the day I hear upstairs are moving my application is active again. All of this despite recordings stating that if the old neighbors are moved then my house will be damaged. The council have told me that my neighbors moved to a different landlord but I know this is not the case, and NTC are now adamant that the house is not a council house, despite being advertised on their home finder in the borough as council months back. The last phone call I had was from a woman from the council advising me to do the same. Completely outraged and seriously considering either taking her up on the offer, or allowing whatever happens to my deteriorating health stick around long enough for martyrdom.

The irony of customer service being called customer first centres when the quality of service from both contact centres and repairs staff is shocking. Often left to feel like you're looked down upon.

I have been phoning the council and now no one answering my calls as put a permission form into ask about getting a log burner in and that was on 25/1/17 and they cannt be bothered to answer with a yes or no it's disgusting the way they treat people

We have done a lot of work for N.T.C over the last few years and have found all the people involved a pleasure to work with, recently we did some works at Whitley Bay Chapel and it was great to see everyone working together to complete the job on time within budget and to a high standard a grade 2+ building deserves.

Absolutely furious they've decided to change their number that my phone is blocked from ringing! Website still down since about November to pay rent online. They'll be straight out whinging as well when the rents not paid. Nice one NTC. Just making it harder for everyone to keep up to date with payments. Absolute joke.

My wife and I have reported the amount of rubbish/fly tipping in the Chirton/New York area, public bins removed, mass amounts of dog mess etc. Seem to pay more year upon year in Council Tax but getting less and less service. Very hard to report issues to the 'correct' people and feels like we're getting fobbed off.

if you want a knife in your back then apply for a job. Management are cutthroat and will stop at nothing to prevent more capable people from earning advancement. Believe me if you're face doesn't fit you will be made conveniently redundant regardless of how productive you are.

I've been contacting the North-Tyneside council co...

I've been contacting the North-Tyneside council constantly for the past two weeks. All I need is for them to renew my residential parking permit and send out the new pass. Two weeks later still nothing.

I find it ridiculous that I have to park 20 minutes away from my house so I don't get fined, TO PARK ON MY OWN STREET. It's bad enough I have to pay for the pass itself but this adds insult to injury.

The parking control team are never available, 1/4 calls go through to them, the rest go to voicemail. Someone clearly isn't checking voicemail because I've left about 4 and no one has got back. Calling through to parking control is another issue, the automated call service is flawed. After the automated man gives information the call drops , no way of getting through (FIX THIS).

To make things worse, no one takes ownership. I always hear " it's not my department, I can't do anything" - what you can do is help me with my query...thanks.

2 weeks and no pass, disappointed! I'm parking on my own street and if I get fined , North-Tyneside better reimburse me.

1/5 stars. If an option , 0 would've been a more realistic rating.

Not fair at all with the residents, just trying to get your money.
Poor service, not trained staff at all.
Such a shame, does not deserve even 1 star.
Feel sorry for people who have to deal with them and those who work for NTC.

After a great deal of trouble finding a telephone number which actually worked, I was greeted by an automaton which could not understand my reposes to its questions and eventually got through to a line on which all operators were busy for 10 minutes and played exceedingly loud music with repeated annoying announcements which were of no help at all.
TOTALLY USELESS SERVICE.

Sorry but the council need to sort themselves out.
I report the leaves in the gully in both sides of the street NE28 6PB EVERY YEAR.

But I end up having to pay some random person walking up the street to brush them out of the gully as the two old men in the drive along road sweeper refuse to get out and do the job they are paid to do.

How would the council feel if I get flooded out again but sue them for not doing the job I ask for every year for the last 7 YEARS.
