I've been with this gym for 16 years, and I can personally say it is the BEST mixed martial arts gym in the north DFW area. It provides a supportive and encouraging environment for the first time class goer and the long time member.
As far as kids classes go I'd like to give a lot of credit to this gym for some of the core values that it helped instill in me. Discipline, work ethic, respect, confidence and preserverence are just some of the values this gym helped instill in me. I'm convinced ntmma can help not only kids but people of all ages learn or reinforce some of these core values. All while learning how to defend yourself in a safe environment. #NTMMA

I've trained her for about 5 years on and off. Everytime i needed my contract canceled or frozen they've worked with me.
The coaches are great. All the students help each other.
Its a good vibe in the gym. Its a good way to let off steam and staying in shape.

Some of the worst customer Service I have ever experienced. We went to try it out and were told that it would be 149 (including all equipment) for registration and the $99 a month. We went back to sign up and the lady there told us that it would be $200 registration and $99 a month with a 12 month contract. We told them that we did not want a contract because we didn't know if our son would like it. They said we could do just one month for 149 so we signed up and paid our $149. When we showed up for the first day they said that we needed to buy equipment because the $149 deal didn't come with equipment. I asked for a refund and the owner told me that they don't do refunds. He showed me in the contract where it says "no refunds or credits for missed classes". We had not even started with them. He was simply awful. He and his wife are horrible people and terrible business owners.

Best place to train MMA in Denton County - has been a huge factor in developing our son's athletic conditioning, self-confidence, and self-confidence. Individual and personalized instruction from the top names in jujistu community and many opportunities to compete. Family run business with very competitive pricing structure - money well spent to give your child a competitive advantage in sports and life.

Anyone looking to expand their Jiu Jitsu skills will be right at home here amoungst this group. On-point instructors, and helpful members make it a breeze to improve your game. I like the location too. It's just a 3-4 minute drive from home!

Trained here several years ago. The Coaches were friendly, and offered tons of available classes to train. I end up getting hurt at the gym, and never had anyone follow up on me. Not saying it was about money, but would have been nice if people cared to follow up on me as a student.

This gym has nice equipment. And most of the instructors are great! The owner however is extremely rude and stops caring the minute after you sign the contract. As long as the money keeps coming he could care less. Heaven forbid a family member dies or something because even then you wouldn't be able to cancel your membership. There isn't even an outrageous fee. There is absolutely no way to cancel your membership. It just "sucks for you." If you want a membership you better be sure that your car isn't about to break down or your pet doesn't need to get an xray or you have to pay school tuition because if you get in financial trouble they won't do anything to help you. $$ is all they care about.

NTMMA offer a wide variety of classes that challenges both mental and physical strength. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and challenges you to be the best. My entire family benefited from programs offered at NTMMA and we all look forward to class each day!

Highest level BJJ around on any given day you can find 5-10 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belts on the mat. Great children's instruction very close training family atmosphere. Classes every day of the week. I have been here coming up on 6 years. I wouldn't have chose another gym.

Horrible costumer service, just money hungry people, stay away from the contract! I don't care if your family dies or something happens or you deploy that damn contract is not getting cancelled !

The best, most top notch MMA facility in North Texas. I have found that ownership/management is very upfront with everyone through the entire signing up process and moving forward with monthly billings. The coaches are great and are always looking to help their students achieve whatever goals they may have. I would totally recommend North Texas MMA to anyone who was looking for a place to learn MMA, self-defense, or just to get in shape.

I love this place! The coaches are skilled, dynamic and very experienced! Not only that but the atmosphere that they incorporate is"family style" with a TEAM first attitude which results with all the high ranking members and more experienced students working together to ensure a great learning environment and to ensure safe quality training! I highly recommend North Texas Mixed Martial Arts! You will not be disappointed!

NTMMA has been a GREAT place to train for both me and my boys. My boys have been taking Jiu Jitsu classes for years and they continually show improvement. Not only that but they love their coaches. I personally have been taking boxing classes for the last 8 months and the quality of the training, the professionalism, the diversity of workouts has been outstanding. I have never been in this great of shape in my life. As for the staff...nothing but supportive, friendly people who care about you and your training and don't hesitate to work with you financially.

Took my son there for a year. Instructors are very nice as most reviewers commented. The price was great at the time and my son could go almost every week day. The only part I don't like (most places are like this) is the belt award ceremony. Several kids (including my own) did not have the moves down properly but still received their next level belt. I prefer to have him earn his belt for what he knows. I did not ever see a child denied his/her belt for not knowing the proper techniques. I know this is to build self esteem but it seems like a false accomplishment. I'm sure when they get much older they have to master the moves in order to move up. As long as you know what to expect I would say this is a fine training center.

Unfortunately, this academy is less moral than they should be. Definitely recommend other facilities to get true martial arts training. One must learn mentally and physically how to be practice martial arts.

Our 4 year old started with the team about 2 months after he turned 3 years old. He was an absolute terror. Not only was NTMMA able to calm the young man down but they were also able to teach him enough to advance to Little Dragon Yellow belt.

Our 9 year old has been attending for over a year now as well and is ready for competition.

Finally our 13 year old daughter spent a year with them learning Muay Thai and Jujitsu. In a years time they taught our young lady vital self defense skills that will last a lifetime.

Started training here in December 2016. Its been great. The coaches have made the move easy on me and my family. Their kids program is excellent! Very diverse coaching and many class times available.

I have to agree with the other that money is their main concern. I was unable to even get a suspension in my contract after being out with a dislocated shoulder for two months. Even after my contract was over I provided the sixty days written notification and STILL was being billed. I had to change my card number. They will never receive a good review or recommendation from me based on my experience with the billing company and the lack of caring from staff if one of their pet students is not involved.

So far it's been an awesome experience here over the past 3 years and I've learned a lot from their jiu jitsu classes. It's nice to have a wide range of belts to keep a competitive edge on the sport.

One of the toughest gyms I've had the pleasure to roll at in Texas! - That's a good thing for those of you new to Bjj. Coach Matt is a super technical instructor that teaches the morning classes and Terry Corcoran (gym owner) teaches the evening classes, together you get a great blend of technique and theory to compliment every level of fighter. Morning classes are fast with lots of rolls while evening classes see more participants with lots of practice time.

This is a great place for my boys (aged 10 and 8) to gain both effective defensive skills/tactics as well as self confidence. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so for years to come. Few martial arts studios in the area address the need to protect oneself once an attacker takes an individual to the ground. The ability to defend oneself on the ground is key to the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu taught by the instructors at North Texas MMA. The instructors (Terry, Matt, and Nick) take a personal interest in their students and are able to teach complicated moves to students, both young and old.

Although the scheduling of classes and regimen did not work with my job or lifestyle, while I was a student there, I was taught many valuable things by some incredible teachers.
I also witnessed the great difference this studio is making in the lives of the kids/young adults of Flower Mound. This studio is family-run, by passionate and knowledge people, who take pride in their message and impact on their communities.
The owner/operators of North Texas MMA are willing to mold their model and offerings to accommodate a wide range of folks; from military personnel that could be shipped out soon and therefore cannot enter into an auto-renew deal, to college kids that can only attend in the summer.
This studio is a great addition to Flower Mound, and I would recommend this place to anyone. Whether you want a workout with discipline, or you are looking for a great after-school program for your kid, North Texas MMA is top-notch.

I was employed at this school for many years. Unfortunately, I had to stop to finish a degree and pursue a career. During my time there I loved the camaraderie and the competitive spirit of this gym. Go here if you want to be able to defend yourself. They have some of the best guys around and any encounter outside the gym will seem like a peace of cake.

Great group of guys and girls. Great instructors that give you attention. If you are not interested in becoming a champion fighter, it doesn't matter. It's a place that will keep you in shape. There's always classes going on, and you're always welcome on the mats. The work outs were the best I've ever had. If I lived in the area again I would sign back up. Adam Campetti - Kennedale, TX.

From the day I walked into the gym three years ago, I felt welcome. The love of the sport, the comradary and brotherhood of the guys has kept me coming back 3, 4 and sometimes 5 times a week! From an instructional point of view, having access to six BJJ black belts (and counting) to learn from and roll with in any given week is something you cannot find just anywhere. My game has progressed continuously as a result of the talented instructors, their varying styles and the willingness of everyone in the gym to share their knowledge of the sport. Highly recommend for a seasoned practioner, a brand new student or anyone in between.

CROOKED business, AVOID AVOID AVOID!! As you can see from the other reviews, this business has a pattern of making it impossible to leave a contract and continuing to bill. Here is one more proof of this. I enrolled my child and specifically asked how to end the contract after 12 months. They said just give us 60 days notice and complete the Cancellation form. After 10 months, I gave 60 days notice and submitted the form.

MONTHS later I'm still billed. When confronting the company, I'm reminded that I gave them a verbal agreement to renewal. Yet the cancellation notice notes date of final scheduled payment and was stapled to the original contract and we never returned for another class...because we thought we were finished and never asked to renew. This apparently happens over and over and over again and will happen to you if you sign a contract here. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

North Texas MMA is a great place to learn self-defense skills. There is a great family atmosphere. The coaches really care about your progress and help you to get the moves right. It s also an excellent value with multiple adult classes available every day of the week and multiple kids classes Monday through Friday. My whole family trains here and I love knowing that in addition to a fun great workout, we are learning valuable life skills.

I highly recommend North Texas Mixed Marital Arts as a great place to learn and train in martial arts. After a year of trying a few local schools free trial classes, visiting other schools and talking to parents of children attending various schools, we finally found the best place for us. My 9 year old son has been attending classes at NTMMA for the past 5 months. The patient and knowledgeable coaches from NTMMA have advanced him in the gentle art (Jiu Jitsu) enough to win first place in his division at a couple of tournaments. Along the way, he has also learned the basics of kick boxing, and even a few mixed martial arts techniques. Equally as important, my son has learned several valuable life-lessons of character building and self-discipline. The instructors have an obvious passion for what they teach, and truly care about their students well-being. Surprisingly, NTMMA is also easier on the wallet than most of the other schools too. I look forward to seeing what my son learns there over the next several years.

I've been at NTMMA for five years. We learn the best jiu jitsu and our gym consistently outperforms other schools in the area. The camaraderie and brotherhood at the school is the reason I stay. It's been an excellent five years and I'm really looking forward to getting my black belt here.

I've trained here for the past year and a half, and my Jiu Jitsu progress has never stalled. Every day I walk in, I walk out feeling better than I was. This includes the striking classes. Although I don't do striking very often, coach matt has cleaned up my skills, and I feel confident with my abilities.
