I was fortunate enough to spend 8 years at North Star as a camper and then as a CIT, JC, and then as a Tripper. Those were the best years of my life. The friends I made and the skills I learned at North Star have stayed with me and guided me for the rest of my life. North Star Camp was worth more than a post grad degree from a university.

This is an amazing camp. My son is on his 5th summer and he loves it. Everyone knows everyone. This summer, he had a biking accident and I am amazed at how well the camp communicated with me and took care of him. They delivered above and beyond my expectations. I am so grateful to have such an amazing, experienced and loving team. They are family and treat all the campers as such. Northstar will always and forever hold a special place in my heart. Words cannot express my gratitude and love I have for these individuals.

Unlike many, I started as a counselor and was amazed at the comraderie, spirit, and focus on developing both campers and young adults.

Yes, camp is fun! United Nation Days and Pow-Wow day are a blast (and the food is better too).

Having spent 9 summers at camp, nothing else can give you the experience that life dishes out- both good (mostly), bad (sometimes), and unusual (like the time a fish, caught a fish, caught a fish- how does that happen?)

And now we enjoy it as post campers, and Andy and Dan do a fantastic job.

I spent 13 of the best summers of my life at North Star. Being at North Star taught me lessons that I still use today. The staff is always fantastic and Dan and Andy do a great job carrying on the traditions and values that make camp special.

My 10-year-son was traumatized at this camp. Some of the counselors were hostile and my son was subjected to bullying and inappropriate behavior. For example, his shower curtain was repeatedly opened within a minute after getting in, and he was yelled at to get out. When he was not feeling well after a 30 mile kayak trip he was yelled at not to complain. He was excluded from card games and other activities by a clique of boys, and the counselors did nothing. He was evaluated by a psychologist upon his return and the psychologist said my son was traumatized there. I do not recommend this camp.
