Good enough really! Has available doctors compared to queens, elmhurst and jamaica hospital. Everything seems better compared to the rest.

I've been here, my mother has been admitted here, friends babies and my own have been here, never once have I had a reason to complain. Always courteous, confident, professional and responsive. This is where I want to go or will take my family if a hospital visit is necessary.

Worst hospital for emergency. They have you waiting 2 hours with kidney stone pain. They are under staffed and disorganized. People are passing out on the floor. My first and last visit.

Great Hospital! The staff, doctors, mid levels, nurses, nurse assistants, and volunteers are professional, caring, diligent. The hospital decor is very nice. I brought my family member here in critical condition and immediately everyone was taking care of us.

I was very displeased with the service I received not only was I there for 8.5 hours but I was misdiagnosed with a UTI because I followed up with my primary care doctor and he didn't see any indication of an infection because my white blood count was not elevated and I'm furious to know I got a CT scan that was unnecessary plus I was also put on a very strong antibiotic that made me very sick and nauseous I can't honestly say I wil be back anytime soon

I'm giving the emergency room vist a 0. The nurse literally screamed my results across from the nurse station to my room instead of giving me the privacy I needed as a patient to tell me in my room. The doctor told me based off of my chronically conditional she can not help me at all, and that she has no knowledge on what to tell me about my situation. That the first that has happened to me. AND she didn't even bother to see how she could help me and didn't do a full evaluation because she felt since she can't help that I dont need it, even though I told her my health conditions. I don't recommend the Adult emergency room, if your looking for a medical team who cares about their patients, their privacy and looking to see how they can help you in every way, THIS IS NOT THE HOSPITAL YOUR LOOKING FOR.

My Mother-in-law was refused emission after being brought in by ambulance for extream pain. She is an 83 year old woman who was treated worse than one could imagine. She was sent home with my 85 year old Father-in-law at a loss of what to do. How pathetic are they. I wonder if the Doctor who did this has a Mother. If so I only hope she has a better Doctor taking care of her.

Security guard was unprofessional, He Couldn't help us out...

Have been here with my aunt since early this morning. She is here for surgery. The care she is recieving is unbelievable. I can not say enough good things about it from the doctors to the staff. I am very impressed with it all.

my mom just had a full left hip surgery and they tell my brother that they don't have enough equipment for her.

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!!
My father has been here for two weeks now awaiting a quick simple procedure. Every day they give a new story as to why he cannot get it. I believe this hospital prolonged patients procedures to accumulate money and expenses. While other hospitals have now adopted free and unlimited TV use this hospital still charges $10 a day (higher than a cable bill) If you had elderly people with no family how would they pay for this? Or how would they get proper or efficient care with the nurses no doctor comes around?
4 days in a row now he was told dont eat you will get your surgery today. AND EVERYDAY NO ONE COMES AROUND WITH ANY UPDATE. HAS HIM STARVING AND WAITS UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON TO SAY I'M SORRY YOU CANNOT HAVE IT TODAY. THIS IS CRAZY!!! YOU HAVE STARVED MY FATHER FOR DAYS ! This is not how you treat patients. You could've released him and let him come back as an outpatient. Such a pretty hospital with nothing but ugly malpractices.

I had my baby there and where I was the staff treated me as a queen they listened pay attention ask if you have pain and take my baby clean him and always ask me if I would love for them to do something else this hospital is the best not one of the best but the best hospital ever they know what that means emergency they take you as soon as you get there to see how you're doing if someone else has a bad experience I'm sorry to hear it but I had the best experience thank you so much for everything

what an amazing place, the medical imaging department is the best ( xray, catscan) unbelievable the speed and patient care that was shown , amazing place, the technicians are the best. you must come here they will help you!

In my case I took my mom to the ER and was saw with in 10 minutes I like this place and looking forward to bring my wife here for my son's birth

They take forever to take the patients no matter if the patient came in emergency. They want to wait till the patient die. I ask the nurse so many times about getting my husband a room instead of leaving him in the hallway. but she gave me an attitude. I am pregnant and this type of service is not acceptable. It's better not to go here. I will not advise. Thank you for the worst service. There service sucks.

This was a real shock to me: I have some symptoms that no doctor has yet been able to diagnose or treat. I sent Long Island Jewish Medical Center a detailed medical history, lengthy blood tests, a detailed personal health statement and a very carefully worded clear cover letter. In the cover letter I told them that I did not have a diagnosis and that I was asking them if they could possibly diagnose my symptoms and if not give me a cure, at least help to improve my symptoms. Can you believe that twice, I was called by the doctor s representative telling me that the doctor wanted to know What My Diagnosis Was!?! The second time that the representative called, today, she said that the doctor could not see me until I had a referral from another doctor who gave me a diagnosis. I of course explained to the representative that it was obvious the doctor had not read my cover letter or my detailed personal history if he was asking me to supply a diagnosis PRIOR to getting a diagnosis from them. Unbelievable!!!!

Horrible. Absolutely horrific hospital. This place should not be in business, all the staff does is ignore patients in need of assistance. My Uncle was admitted to the emergency room on August 4th, and stayed in that disgusting ER for over 35 hours, only to then be put in one of the many stifling rooms on the fifth floor. He was told to get a CAT scan, but he waited over four days and NOTHING happened. Meanwhile, during this period, the doctors thought it would be a fun idea to drug him up in order to make an extra buck. Turns out, he was put on dangerous blood thinners that could have caused hemorraging. Finally, he was given the scan on August 10th. After the scan came back positive for a stroke, the doctors figured it would be fun to perform a surgery, again, to fill their wallets with money at the expense of my uncles health. We took him out of there, and he is doing a lot better without the grueling conditions back at Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center. The only thing I can say is that the nurses were impeccable; constantly asking if you needed anything. I commend the nurses for their hard work and dedication, as well as the technician at the CAT scan. However, the doctors are cold-hearted greedy morons determined to get a bonus with complete ignorance of your relatives health. This supposed "hospital" is a death trap. Maybe the doctors should get a CAT scan, because they need to find out whether their brains are functioning correctly.

I heard it got a great cardiology department, however minor problems is horrible , I waited 2 hours only to find out they don't know what happened to my arm, gave me a sling and send me home. Cried all night, next morning visited a orthopedic surgeon only to find out it's a bone spur in my shoulder a cortisone injections was I needed. However the new maternity wing is awesome...

I never be to a unclean hospital before this bugs in the light.i was in bed for three day and no one change the sheets. They had the heat at about 85. I have not see one person mop the floor and the docter just keep lie to me. If you want to keep living a healthy life DONT COME HERE. I am surprised the stated has come and close this place down!

This place and hospital is terrible and the doctors don t know anything they guess and most of the doctors there are medical students learning on us. I was bleeding from being stabbed 4 time in the chest and they just discharged me without looking at the pouncher wound and they ran out of blankets and sheets to cover with and may I add that I came Thursday 5pm and saw a medical student who was scared as hell Friday 11 am

Horrible staff, terrible customer service!!! Literally everyone here is rude. The medical Assistants are so rough with the patients that it hurts. The doctors and all other staff members are just as rude and seem to hate their jobs. Very disappointed. I would rather stay home and suffer than come to a place like this where I would suffer more.

Everytime i wanted to asked a question they responded to me as if I am uneducated. It seems as if people who work here only work for the money, and not to help people.

Walked In The Hospital at 7pm now it s 4am and me and my mother are still sitting here waiting on her lab results

I have had nothing but a horrible experiences at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital. The doctors the nurses are obnoxiousnasty human beings there they're only because to collect a paycheck. I brought my mother there to the emergency room we waited one hour and 30 minutes before someone came to take any information. The doctor is a disinterested in the patients particularly if there's an elderly patient and your white. I complain to the CEO and they write back a form letter that they give the utmost care which is absolute lie. I suggest if you go to North Shore get a good malpractice attorney and sue the hospital. A word to the wise the patient transportation employees a very aggressive and confrontational and most likely recovering alcoholics or drug users Who treat the patients very roughly by slamming the gurneys stopping short slamming the gurney into the walls and other aggressive behavior.

The emergency room wait is way too long. The attendants at the desk laugh and joke with each other but are ignorant to the needs of those waiting here. Get it together.

Spent a little over two weeks hear.... Will never go back if I can help it.... They don't have any phlebotomist there they dig to find a vein... They put an IV in me that stop working five days later left it in so long by the time they took it out gave me an infection... Next thing I know I got a team of infectious disease doctors..... He told me my deep vein thrombosis was gone.... Go to another hospital they examine me and tell me it's still there.... Took over $100 worth of my medicine never gave it back said I didn't need it and I still need it.... Add a hundred and $150 worth of personal belongings disappear while when nurses are in charge... Was the worst hospital I have been in...

This hospital is the worst since it took 4 hours to lie down and I am dying of pain and the doctors only talk and talk among themselves that lack of care they give to the sick I do not recommend this hospital is the worst thank you

I take my father to this hospital frequently and i found the experience with doctors and nurses to be excellent from intake to discharge. I recently took my father to another hospital and the service was so bad that i had to write a review of this hospital

The nurses and doctors treat their patients with respect and care. I always visit here. It's a preference over any other hospitals. My only complaint is parking for the emergency room patients; they let you park in the allocated parking lot but once you leave even for 5 minutes to get food or anything else they do not let you in. The security guard told me because the patient is already inside the hospital I cant park there anymore. Now I have to go find parking on the streets in 10 degrees weather and walk 2 miles back to the emergency room with food that will be frozen by then. If I had known that I would have never left the parking lot. They should have signs to let us know what bull$h*t to expect when we leave and return.

Went to the Emergency Room, where I went through triage and then was told I was in the wrong place for what I needed. I never entered the area with the beds, never saw a Dr but yet I was billed for the ER visit and was billed for a Dr that I never saw .

While ultimately attentive by the medical professionals, the intake personnel in the ER was "unconcerned" about my situation (which was serious) and one hospital housekeeping staff remarked out loud (said, "Oh my God") about the condition of the room where the patient has experienced a hemorrhage and extreme blood loss. ALL STAFF should be trained on managing their reaction to various conditions that are a part of their daily work. Drs were fine, surrounding administration and operations staff were not. Too bad, because the first face you see in an emergency situation is important. The interactions by the intake person and the housekeeping staff were just "low rent."

Very nice hospital. Nurses and everyone else remember who you are... unusual for an urban setting. This was our home for almost two months. I dont think I will ever go anywhere else. Numerous awards for excellence.

After visiting this ER, I feel like I can conquer the world, Why? I was put in such an extreme level that i had to go through and be suffered so much , after all that the problem wasn't even cured, i feel like nothing i will be scared any more after that bad experience. First and last visit. If you wamt to take your life seriously, go somewhere else.

Worst hospital. I ve been here sine 9:45pm and now 2:08am ... a physician assistant said he needs an X-ray 2 hours ago and we are still waiting to go for the X-ray ... worst decision of my life . Coming to this hospital!!!

Had to go to the emergence from for a head laceration today! From the security guard at the front door to the check in nurse to the doctors and all the staff involved I had a fantastic experience. Helpful and quick and was in and out within 30 minutes!! Kudos to them all!!

Had my open heart surgery on July 18th and lets just say I am truly thankful for the amazing surgeons and staff!!

Wait time is 3 hours as per the person registering. My son vomited 4 times in front of them but even after requesting nobody saw him. God forbid, one day it might happen the patient died before the doctor saw .

Horrible service. These people are frauds. They kept me waiting for my broken toe all night. The doctors and nurses are completely unprofessional and have no level of respect.

Hospital is wonderful but the parking is way too expensive

This time is the absolute worst. Our experience is beyond words. Long story short, my Dad went in for pains around his chest, after 3 days and tests after tests he was discharge and sent home with the pain and told it PROBABLY a pulled muscle . Well, after the pain was very intense we took him to his Cardiologist and he sent him for a Cat Scan. Results , he has 3 fractured ribs , and this hospital should be ashamed to send a 80 year old man home without making sure what was wrong with him. The ER department, they socialized more than work, that's why people are waiting there more than 5-6 hrs. Something needs to be done ......

this place is incredible. they staff is very nice. the patients , oh my the patients are AMAZING. everyone just brightens your day. :)

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. I am disgusted by the way patients are being treated. My husband was shoved in a room left there for 1 hr in pain and no one attended to him ... I proceeded to ask a Male nurse what's going on and why is my husband waiting in a room so long... he was rude and unprofessional
.. I then called the hospital while waiting in the room with my husband who is still in pain to make a complain they transferred me to Ebony who basically told me that my husband had to wait to see a doctor or to hell with him... this is such an unprofessional hospital and I am so disgusted with the staff here this hospital needs to shut down immediately

This hospital is wonderful. I went into the ER triage and within 2 minutes was moved into a room. Doctors were asking questions and getting labs. The doctors were extremely professional and thorough. I was moved to the Coronary ICU. The doctor put a TVP wire which stabilized my heart. The next day I had a battery of tests and I given a pacemaker. I was out in two days. The nurses were wonderful. I cannot account for everyone's experience but I was very greatful.

Called 911 which was on time to bring me to the hospital but waited 4 hours to just see a doctor to explain why I went in for. With so many doctors and nurses laughing and joking around when you re dying of severe pain honestly making me never trust of the big name hospitals again. If I wanted this kind of service I would have gone to Jamaica hospital or queens hospital not come here.

Today I am here for my father. I came here at 9:00am, now 4:25pm. They are careless!!!. They are giving very show services. Day by day this hospital service is becoming worst....!!!

The worst bed side manners from this hospital. I gave up going to Jamaica hospital for this place. I came in from an accident at 8pm. One EMS staff left after dropping off a patient and came back hours later. And I was still there. Also they do is move your bed from for one wall to another. And leave you in the hallway. No one had an answer and no one knows anything when you ask questions. Dr finally saw me. He was very nice. A RN name Stephanie was suppose to give me an aspirin. She wanted to take urine sample for pregnancy test first , even when I told her I m not pregnant. Claim it s policy. When I did. That was it. She never came back to me, kept passing me the entire time . The DR finally came back and was asking if my X-rays were done. I said no. And I still have a throbbing headache. He told one nurse to get me there. She said she don t do that.. left me there while I m watching the guy who was taking folks to X-ray n Ct scan walk around with papers in his hands.

All these staff members did was walk around with papers in their hands. Acting busy. And planning where to meet up for a party.

Around 4am, I had to start making noise in order to get a dr to read my X-ray. I was in so much pain, and a headache. I didn t hear anything she said.. I wants sour..

Worse hospital ever! Literally came I'm screaming because of the pain in my back, sat in the ER for three hours while a bunch of people after me went in. They finished my registration a hour and a half after I got there, while these lazy nurses are sitting here watching tv, while doing my blood pressure and she couldn't remeber if she even did my temperature because she was so into her show! AVOID AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL COST. You are better off self diagnosing yourself! Most inconsiderate hospital I've ever been to.

I was at the Katz Women's center. It's a beautiful facility. Very friendly and helpful staff (from the security guards and check-in clerk to the nurses and doctors).

My wife and I had our baby delivered at this hospital and it was the most horrible experience we ever had in my life. Despite, a resident making me and my wife extremely uncomfortable, (by placing his fingers inside of my wife with no gloves on and smiling and then asking if I wanted to be there to see it) I would have to say beware of this place because you might have medical malpractice.

The 9 th floor is just orthopedic.... great staff clean rooms! The hospital food was very delicious for the patient... healthy and yummy.
The waiting room for families while patient is having surgery had a great staff as well....
The chairs need to be cleaned or replaced , lots of stains.. bathroom ... a bit yucky

Went to ER with autistic son. NEVER again. Did have ONE compassionate nurse - Steven Ventura. Sympathetic and hard worker. He was wonderful.
Staff should be more aware of people with disabilities. Ignored most of the time we were there into the next morning.

I received a letter from Executive Director Michael Goldberg. My father is 65 years old, and he wen-through excessive vomiting and physical-weakness. He came from Bangladesh. When he came, he barely could walk, cause he was keep loosing his balance. After he went to this hospital and had his treatment, he is feeling much better than before. I appreciate all the staff members who helped my father. And I encourage others to go there and have their treatment done.

Hospital trash arrives emergency by car accident, with too much pain in the back neck and head, and these people from this hospital waited 4 hours to assist me, I told them that I hurt too much and waited two more hours to give me pills for the pain, then they told me that I would do a scaner and X-rays but for that I had to wait a few more hours, my husband got upset and told them to give me the discharge to go to another hospital, and the person who I was discharged, it was not worthy to even remove the necklace that had been put on my neck for pain, my husband had to take it off, definitely this hospital is disgusting I do not recommend it to anyone

The Emergency Room felt like an assembly line. I was not impressed with the overall service.

The ER is horrible. You ask the nurses and staff a question and their response os I dont know to everything. 6 hours and still waiting to get admitted into a room.

Keeping giving this hospital a try all the time. Tonight was a terrible experience. As a Northwell institution, its poor! The ER to be specific. Pt waiting in the hallways for 12 hours for a bed. We do understand some stuff as uncontrollable but at least offer something to make ones comfort. Not a tea, a meal or something to make us feel welcome. No privacy what so ever! These Africans PCA or CNA, whoever they are in burgundy scrubs are pretty dam rude! Their Personality is not for a hospital setting. Last place you want to be. One said to another she s old so clearly because you re old, your life doesn t matter? A drug addict is acting up and of course all the attention is there but not for a woman who crying out for pain. It s a blood shame! I d be ashame to even work in this building. Where is quality ?

My husband was a patient here and I can't explain the attitude of Great treatment he received here.

The doctors were great .other hospital said they give us a taxi . we are now going on 3 hr . 2nd shift says the taxi service dosent know why the other lady had us wait so long . but we are going on our third hour . there no social worker on staff to process threw ins.
Unfortunitly if i lose my nee job on the first day at 50 an hr . lawsuit might be on order by now. As it seems the 1st shift never got us a taxi , nor had our nsme or address

There are some staff literally very rude and some are professional, bedside manners and kind... but yesterday was the first time ever I have ever experienced a bad trip to this hospital. I complained to the manager nurse danielle about a social worker named Vincent he yelled at me last night in front of patients and staff and in a very rude matter. And openly asked my diagnosis which is breaking the hippa law. Im still putting in my complaints but i am not being taken seriously, i keep calling but everyone will have they're buddies back but i will be calling 311 next

First time to leave anything negative online! I missed a call from the hospital and they did not leave any voice mail, immediately call back the main switcher did not listen to you case but just randomly forward you call to different department.

The hospital staff are either clueless or liars. I went there to get stitches for a cut and was told from several P.A.'s that if returned to any Northwell Health location to have them removed that I would not be charged for the second visit. Not only did I get charged for a second visit and have to pay a second co-pay, I was charged for parking because the staff told me that they do not validate, which is a lie! Never going back again.

Dont care about people just insurance scam probably. No doctors in emergency room only PA and even worse PA students. They wont let you die but wont treat you either. Just sending you walking enough to get out of there. 8-10 hour waiting period for emergency room

My dad got admitted .. the hospital only allowed one visitor... but what the fail to let the me know over the phone, that it will have to be the same person to visit my dad ... now remember this ..I have to work..and mom have to work and only my brother will be visiting... we asked if my mom can go and then my brother will be the one to visit the next day they said no... now that do not make any sense... bcuz not the same family member can make it every day that my dad is there... not only that i called amd ask to speak to the provider..guess what no one ever called me...its crazy ... if it was up to me...I wont go.

The last thing you need when you walk into an emergency room is a BAD ATTITUDE. Unfortunately we had to transfer my grandfather from Pennsylvania (where he had an excellent service) to New York. I decided to bring him to Northwell (Long Island Jewish Medical Center) because I had had previous experiences of really good service. But it has been the WORST decision I could have made. We came in at 3:15 pm and they didn t have a wheelchair that can position his leg upward because he has a broken knee. We requested for a stretcher and unfortunately they sent us to the ambulance area to be able to do that; because they wouldn t just provide one (to this, add the fact that they had us going from one person to the other). We spent half an hour ONLY to get him into the hospital. The receptionist said the wait would be 2 hours and 34 minutes. And well; the doctor didn t come in until a little after 6pm. Until then, they wouldn t even give him any pain medication or anything at all. At 6pm when the doctor came in, I asked him to be honest with me and tell me if there were any chances of him getting the surgery and if they had Orthopaedic surgeons on call 24 hours, or else we would take him somewhere else. His answer was yes we have on call people 24 hours. The orthopedic came in ONLY to tell us that the ONLY person who apparently he has to do that kind of surgery comes UNTIL Friday. So until then; they don t consider an 86 year old person with a broken knee an immediate emergency that needs to be addressed immediately. Their recommendations were that until then he should go home and walk around with crutches in the meantime! I mean!!!!! I finally decided to tell the doctor to just discharge him; all of a sudden things started moving quicker; oh la la; he even came to offer ice packs for us to take home (we have been here for 6 hours, SIX HOURS and he didn t even offer ONE ice pack to ease the pain; and now that I m all mad about all their really bad service he comes in with ice packs on the go! It s crazy and sad how quickly people only seem to want to help once they ve messed up so bad!

From coming here with really high expectations of it being an excellent hospital; I m leaving with the worst experience. I know there are worst hospitals, but it s sad that one with a good reputation is going down because they re hiring incompetent people with no customer service skills or empathy whatsoever over walk on patients that have an emergency BIG or SMALL.
