I have, unfortunately, had a very bad 2019 healthwise. I had a procedure performed in an LIJ facility back in 2019, and then had to have other procedures performed in various other facilities throughout the year, for which I have received numerous bills. I have made payment plans with every one of these facilities, including LIJ, or so I thought. I just received a threatening letter from LIJ regarding an outstanding bill. I had no recollection of this bill. When I called customer service I was told that I cancelled automatic payments. That's when I remembered. Yes, I told the girl I was speaking to, when I was setting up payments, that I did not want them taking money out directly, that I wanted to pay the bill myself. I am not comfrotable someone having "control" over my account. She advised me that I would receive e-mail reminders. Obviously, I never received these reminders, but I did receive their threatening letter. I will try my best not to be treated at any more Northwell Health facilities. They don't care about patients, they just care about their money. I will make this payment, in full, and hopefully have nothing more to do with Northwell. Wish I could give less than one star.
