I can't tell you how great our experience with Norbeck Montessori was! I am a single mother of two young boys. My youngest son, Gianni, attended Pre K and I can't express how loving, kind and caring all staff were! The teachers there genuinely care about each and every student there. Going thru difficult life changes can be very hard on children and surrounding them around great kids and teachers can make all the difference. My son Gianni kept busy with activities and learning so that had a very positive impact on his life. I am so very greatful to have had my son attend Norbeck Montessori!

We love Norbeck! The staff are amazing taking care of our children like warm and nurturing parents and help guide them on their educational journey. Our 5 year old is already reading, doing fractions and loves the science class. Our 3 year old knows Spanish phrases and can write his own name. Your child will cultivate incredible skills and gain all the tools they need to be driven, focusing amazing people.

We really enjoyed our time at Norbeck. My son started at 2.5 and learned a lot of great independence skills (putting on jacket, going potty, etc) as well as academic skills (counting, pattern recognition, reading). Our classroom teachers were great, especially Ms. Barbara. Mr. Denis really related to the kids and they loved him. Overall, a great place!

My husband and I are so pleased with how our daughter progressed at Norbeck. She attended for four years through "Big K". Even though it would have been easier in many ways to send her to our local public school for kindergarten, we thought she would be bored there, so we decided to keep her at Norbeck for Kindergarten. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Besides the emphasis on reading and science, the whole attitude and atmosphere of "learning is fun and exciting" has really been an attitude that our daughter internalized. She is in third grade now and doing extremely well in school. I truly believe that Norbeck gave her a great foundation to build on.

Fabulous School. Best Montessori School in the DC area. They are a wonderful school that helps children become more independent while still being kids. My son is 5 and is doing 2nd grade math. I Love Norbeck Montessori. I wish they continued beyond Kindergarten.

I call it "the magic of Norbeck Montessori". With two children completing their pre-school experience at Norbeck Montessori, both my husband and I have been amazed at how the school has helped both Ella and Michael learn to love math and love reading. When Ella entered into public schools, she was well prepared. Michael is currently on pace to finish reading 30 books (which he started at the beginning of summer), which would not be possible without the staff at Norbeck supporting and encouraging his reading.

Norbeck Montessori is a great place for kids! Its also great for the parents. They will work with you and your child to ensure that the best learning environment is available. I highly recommend Norbeck to everyone!!

Norbeck Montessori has been our number one choice for all three of my sons. My first son attended Norbeck ten years ago and then my second and currently my third is in the Big K program. Our family is part of the Norbeck family because that is the way the staff makes you feel on the first day you walk into this wonderful school and that feeling never goes away. The staff is not only inviting and accommodating but highly educated in the Montessori Method of teaching. My boys and my son who currently attends learned invaluable lessons when it came to reading skills, math, science, spanish, and most importantly the value of independence and friendship. I know my two boys were well prepared for grade school and I know my son that currently attends will be well prepared as well because of the great experience and education he received from Norbeck. I can sing the praises of this school all day long from the educational aspect to the feeling of having a second place to call home for my children when there not in my care. My son couldn't be happier at this school and he adores all of his teachers and the staff at Norbeck.

This place is amazing! When we were looking for a daycare or preschool where to send our 3 year old back then, we did some research and went to different places and realize this was the only one where you could see the kids and the teachers happy and having a great time (remember that's the environment you want your kids to grow in). So we decided for Norbeck and that was the best decision ever! Our son had the best experience during his 4 years there. We even kept him in the Kindergarten program (AMAZING). He learned so much and grew emotionally and socially as well. Great foundation and such a loving atmosphere for the kids. I could not recommend a better place.
And BTW did I said he learned reading by 4 years and has started 1st grade knowing addition, subtraction and multiplication? Yep that's how great this place is :)

Norbeck Montessori has been the most amazing experience for us! Our daughter has been there for over a year and absolutely loves it. The teachers are amazing and make you and your child feel welcome, nurtured and loved! And, the lessons they do on a daily basis are so fun and educational at the same time. Definitely recommend to any parents looking for a positive and warm environment for their kids, and be prepared to be part of a small and loving family!

My son has only been with Norbeck Montessori for 2.5 months (at the time of this review). The progress, and noticed development that has happened during that time has been incredible for my husband and I to see. He has grown socially, physically, and mentally, all thanks to what is offered at the school from the moment of drop off, until we see him at the end of the day. We feel assured that he is with Norbeck Montessori.

What would I have done without Norbeck? This is my daughter's second year and every day I am more and more amazed about how much she is learning. She is only 4 years old and she is able to read, write and count to 100. The activities that the school coordinates through the year nurtures a sense of community/family, events include Halloween parade, Thanksgiving feast, Christmas song festival and much more! She loves her school, teachers and friends. I highly recommend this school.

I can't express enough how impressed our family has been with Norbeck Montessori. The entire staff is exceptional --warm, nurturing, engaging, and responsive. They literally light up each time they greet a child in the classroom in the morning! The classrooms are bright, inviting, and meticulously prepared for learning. The administration runs the school like a well-oiled machine and children thrive in the structure of their environment. Norbeck has science, literacy, language, art, and music infused in their curriculum. They make sure the children get lots of physical activity each and every day. The playground is fantastic with something for every child--swings, slides, climbing apparatus, a sandbox, even a basketball hoop at the right height for little ones! My son just loves it. I highly recommend this school to anyone searching for the right Montessori preschool for their child.

Our son has had a wonderful experience at Norbeck. The teachers and staff are incredibly energetic and positive -- they are uniformly dedicated to nurturing and teaching kids. Everyone clearly loves their jobs. The school's parent community is welcoming and active for those parents that are interested. We plan to send our second child next year!

My son went to Norbeck for 3 years. He loved the school, and so did we. He got an amazing start to his education(reading way above grade level in kindergarten), and he now loves to learn. He has always been a challenging kid, and the school was fabulous at working with us closely to ensure his success. Teachers were readily available to communicate, and always willing to go the extra mile. The entire school was like a close knit community, which we were horribly saddened to leave when we moved out of state. I only wish we could find a school of equal caliber for my younger kids.

After teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools for almost a decade, I thought it would be difficult for me to find a preschool that would meet my standards for teaching and learning. This program is wonderful. The program reinforces relevant curriculum and the teachers work hard to build relationships with their students. The school offers a variety of extra curricular activities that you do not find at other preschools. The grounds are well kept and they have a wonderful play ground, which is important for those little ones! It is worth every penny!

Both my children had a wonderful experience at Norbeck Montessori!! The staff were nurturing and attentive to each of my children's personal needs. With creative lessons and a warm, safe and structured environment, my children were able to learn and grow. The holiday celebrations, scarecrow stuffing, and talent show were a great hit, too! Special thanks to Mr. Dennis, who has an amazing talent for teaching in a special way that builds children's confidence. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this school!

My children attend Norbeck Montessori and highly recommend their teachers, administrators and program. They have passionate caring professional teachers and aids who are great with children and support the Montessori philosophy. They have also expanded the program with music, language and science in 2011-2012 school year which is very exciting.

My children have been at Norbeck for 5 years and our experience has been nothing but amazing. They are treated and cared for with love and respect. They enjoy going to school every day and have learned how to be independent children both in the classroom and in every day life. They have grown to be upstanding and courteous young ladies

Norbeck Montessori is one of those rare places where children can go to learn in a loving and supportive environment full of enrichment opportunities and amazing teachers. Norbeck has been a part of our family for nearly three decades. As a Norbeck alumni, I would not want to see my kids anywhere else.



Today, many of the same kind and smiling faces of teachers we have known for years welcome us with open arms each morning. Tara and Ryan along with Keira have done an amazing job of revamping the program and adding fresh new extracurricular programs like soccer, gymnastics and cooking classes.

Norbeck is not only an amazing environment for children to learn and grow, it is a true community atmosphere where families come together and form lifelong friendships. Some of my closest friendships started at Norbeck and my oldest daughter is still very close friends with several of the friends she made at Norbeck over ten years ago.

A first grade teacher from our local elementary school recently approached me and said Your daughter is a Norbeck kid, isn t she?" When I confirmed, she continued, saying "I can tell. The kids from that school come in here heads and shoulders above so many other kids. Not only are they working at higher levels in reading and math, they have a strong grasp of science and an appreciation for art and music that we don t see coming out of other programs. And it is true. Sending our kids to Norbeck has been an investment in their future. My oldest, who is now in 7th grade, and my second child, now in 1st, are both receiving accelerated instruction in all subjects.

I cannot say enough great things about this amazing school that has contributed so much to the education and enrichment of my family.
