I had not eaten sashimi before since I was always skeptical of the quality of raw fish, but glad I tried it here. Fresh food bursting with flavors. Must visit!

If you love sushi & shashimi, this is the place to go. We did the chef's special tasting menu. Amazing!
Amazing sushi experience. The fish is super fresh and the selection is amazing. The ambience is also great and perfect for after work meal and drinks. The prices here a little bit more on the expensive side though so you have to be More
Nobu never fails. The menu, the service are always top notch.
This over-the-top Midtown branch of Nobu Matsuhisa s Japanese-Peruvian powerhouse continues to draw a happening crowd with knowledgeable servers providing standout specialties in an expansive upstairs dining space; the scene is loud but alluring , especially if you can find someone to treat you.
Sush a great place & a great experience! Try the house sake
One of my favorite places to eat in Las Vegas and the location in New York did not disappoint. Service was phenomenal and sushi was extremely fresh.
We had to wait for our table over 40 min. Everything else as expected from Nobu.
Excellent lunch bento box, very fresh and a lot of food
Excellent Meal. Only pet peeve is that they should ask you if you have been there before to avoid the phrasing of "Chef reccomends ...."
This place is worth the hype. I love sushi and this place might have ruined it for me with how good everything is. I had no idea what to expect so I went off the all the waiters recommendations and it was .
2. King Crab Tempura
3. Black Cod w miso (best cooked fish I ve ever eaten)
4. Lobster Tempura (my girl loved the other tempura so much she wanted to try another)
5. Oceans 12 Sushi Selection (I love trying new sushi and crazy stuff and this was incredible. I got another order of the seared tuna cus it was that mouthwatering)
6. California roll and smelt eggs/scallops roll (really good but not as impressive as the waiter recommended options)
Bottom line. Go off the waiter s recommendations of the menu to get the full experience. You might not be as impressed if you just go and get your normal sushi roll choices
Definitely worth the $
I've been blessed to have the chance to eat at Nobu 57 twice. First, during a vacation with my love, second on business with myself. I would eat here every day if I could.
The sushi is a 15/10. Scratch that, everything is a 15/10. You seriously can't go wrong.
Nobu is one of the best sushi places in Manhattan. The food, service and vibes are always great. The food is so freshly made.
Beautiful food and atmosphere. Would highly recommended.
Excellent service, the food is delicious can't wait to go back...
Prices too high, food left to be desired, more name than anything else. Maybe come back one day.
AWESOME atmosphere! Food real good, reasonable given quality.
A wonderful sushi restaurant! Its easily one of the best in the city. There are many menu choices and the service and atmosphere are always impeccable. Make sure you bring your banker. It ain't cheap.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
everything about nobu 57 is awesome!
- food
- atmosphere
- crowd
highly recommended!
The black cod was to die for, I ve never had anything like it. Unfortunately I had to sell my sneakers on eBay immediately to pay for dinner but it was still well worth it!
I came here with a group of girlfriends on a Friday night. The restaurant has a great ambiance and was a cool vibe. The food was good but nothing extraordinary, same with the drinks. Overall it was a good experience but not amazing -- I would recommend the downtown location over 57.
This restaurant has the best hot chocolate cake I ever had!!
At Nobu, all you need are three dishes to be in heaven: crispy rice, rock shrimp...but most importantly the black cod with miso.
Great restaurant. Amazing space. Food was very good. Vill was a little less than I expected for an upscale restaurant. Dont miss the miso cod and the tacos.
Finally, I am recovered enough from TERRIBLE FOOD POISONING I got at Nobu 57. I don't usually post reviews, but after throwing up for a whole day and not eating anything for 2 days, I feel like my experience should be shared.
While I had been to Nobu Miami before and have had a pleasant experience, it was my first visit to Nobu 57 in NYC. I went for dinner with my gf and we had some sushi and sashimi. In the middle of the night I got very sick. I mean I couldn't move the whole day and the experience definitely had ruined my whole vacation.
Today, for the first time ever I had decided to call the restaurant and share my experience with them to see if anyone else has gotten sick and how do they feel about my experience. After multiple phone calls and discussions, they came back with their first offer - $80 off from the bill, that would have only cover the cost of the sushi/sashimi we eat. I mean seriously? I asked the guy:"Does $80 worth not eating, throwing up and being nauseous for 2 days?"
According to the manager they couldn't cover the whole amount because they would admit their fault. Then it went up to $120, then to $150, then the best and final of $200 in Nobu gift cards. I even told the, that I definitely won't be able to eat sushi for a long time, on which they said that the card has no expiration and will be still good in 2-3 years lol. I politely declined their final offer and decided to call my Amex and write my first Yelp review instead. Definitely no more Nobu for me.
Was I being unreasonable?
So this isn't a sushi place. You won't find special pieces here, just the basics. It's a fusion tapas place. It's amazing either way. Perfect compromise for a group that includes someone who isn't a huge fan of sushi, but will tolerate fish. Very lively, had to yell to communicate with my date. Wasn't a fan of the vibe personally, I prefer a more laid back place. Good for a first date, if you're shy or nervous about awkward silences or saying the wrong thing. They won't hear you anyway. You can bring your baby here! Someone did when I was there... at midnight. So obviously they're family- and child- friendly.... I would definitely return. Consistently good, if you can't think of anywhere else to dine, you can't go wrong! Very professional waitstaff. My waiter went above and beyond, going back and forth to the kitchen, trying to see if they had any off menu sushi pieces available, and they didn't... so that was disappointing (see first line of this review)
First time at Nobu. The four of us had the tasting menu recommended by our waitress where the chef selects the items for the evening. Plenty of food, tasty, but light on the raw fish selections. Service was fine. Not rushed at all. Spent over three hours there for the six course tasting menu, so the courses we not rushed. We found it very expensive for what we were served. We could have gone to just about any of the best French restaurants in the city and had a better meal with wine pairings for what we spent.
Finallly got to try this place after it's been in my yelp bookmarks for so long! I came with 2 friends on a weekday night around 6 pm. We were happy to see it wasn't crowded. We all ordered the 6 cube mini don after seeing pictures on Instagram! We also ordered the Kaisen spoons.
A very expensive place, the food did not justify the price.
The sushi was medium and the soup (mushrooms) was not at all for my taste.
The dessert is delicious
Very worthy institution. Table, you need to order in advance. Kitchen and service 5 +. As in any good place in NY, the price tag is strong.
First-rate excellent menu from the. Asian cuisine and wonderful staff.
Tahir was the best, food is awesome. Best service..
The food is great, worth the money especially the Sunday lunch prix-fixe!
Decent Japanese restaurant. Ambiance is great, especially for date nights or group outings. Large menu for food & beverage. A bit overpriced for what it is tho. In comparison to other Japanese restaurants, I don t think the food stands out. Worth going but it won t wow you.
Just superb. We had a fair variety of dishes and all where outstanding. The pannacota desert requires special mention because it is not a typical oriental dish
The place to eat excellent sushis in NY city really worth the price
Exceptional :) Great Service and food was amazing too
I had ceviche ... Or its caricature ... I had raw artichoke salad ... they should learn about artichoke in Italy. I tried cod ... Not AS dezert but it was a quite sweet stuff ... last was nigiri ... Haha ... Skin on the meat and taste of the 2 day meat ...
Right now i am in Boston in mystique sushi restaurant in Encore hotel. That is THE taste of Japan. The Chef knows what to do.
Fabulous sushi, but hard to get reservations and the staff has an attitude.
Such a clean, organize, interesting, and interactive place. Very good service and attention.
Get the Omakase. No really. Get the Omakase. This is a place where doing so is an excellent choice and they can be trusted to make it a wonderful experience. The prices are high here but so is the service and the quality of he food. The Omakase is not the same dishes as is on the menu. If will be significantly different and it is delightful.
I'm still sitting at the table and am so blown away that I don't even know how to commend this place. I keep looking around and clapping as if I just watched the greatest performance of my life. I realized that was ridiculous so I picked up my phone to write this thank you for the best experience of my life.
Must get the omekase. Some of the freshest around. Intimate setting good for a date or a very special occassion.
Super swanky atmosphere
Amazing food as you would and should expect from nobu
For sure one of the more cool and hip locations
Food was absolutely fantastic. Pacing between courses was off and quite slow. Compared to something like Miku in Vancouver it s priced a little high, but the quality stacks up.
Wonderful japanese fusion. I been dining at Nobu for around ten years and still nice
Slow unprofessional service , food is mediocre for a restaurant who pretends to be a high end one , comparing even to others Nobu world wide , this one has the poorest quality , doesn't match the prices or expectations , the furniture is soooo dated.
Really enjoyed everything. Highlights included the Rock Shrimp and Miso Black Cod.
this place is a mainstay of midtown sushi dining. always bustling, quality is always high, and it's kind of a no brainer place to take clients as it's so central and easy. a lot of nyc business dinners take place here so expect that kind of crowd.
Great sushi! Perfectly conveys the atmosphere of Manhattan! Prices are comparable to Moscow's good Japanese restaurants!
Best sushi ever with best service espcially with Collette. She will really take care of you with your experience
We walked in without a reservation and were seated at the Sushi Bar. The service and food were very good ... love the coffee brulee with caco crunch! We tried to buy the Sushi Chef a Japanese beer but were told this was not allowed.
Nobu! Friend! I m planning on being in D.C. for another 12 years (wink) so I m gonna need some of your, if I may candidly say, stellar sushi to sustain me in the meantime. Tippy tells me you deliver. I ll send AirForce 1. My father insists. - Yours Truly and Really, Ivanka Trump
Always Wonderful! Best Food and Saki/ Wine Fabulous Service and Decor 10+++ Can't beat it...Thank you!
The outdoor space is vast and heating lamps plenty, but wind is gusty in the alley and for a top end resto, I would have expected blankets provided for clients. But we had bare tables, onetime use takeout chopsticks, and scales down service.
Food is OK, some are better than others, but overall experience is just an average score. Would wait for things to normalize and get the right level of service for the money spent.
Amazing Japanese Restaurant in the heart of NYC.

Well, this place was highly recommended, and I must say it was the best place we had eaten at in New York, at that time. Nobu, you were impressive. I must say it was not cheap. We chose to do a chef's fare which was $80 per person. Please note I could have said $200 per person and they would have done that.
I will say even with gps mapping, this place was hard to find, so I'll attach some pictures of the building which Nobu was located in.
The drinks seen were the cucumber martini. Very smooth and light but still potent. Garnished with sliced cucumber and some sort of lightly pickled fish, which was slightly sweet. Very good. I enjoy chilled and filtered sake, so that's what I got.
The first plate was tuna sashimi. I've not seen such pale looking tuna but anyway ... it was excellent. Light soy sauce and a cilantro style garnish.
Next was the tuna sashimi salad. A zesty ginger soy dressing, we really enjoyed it.
Then the rock tempura shrimp. Omg this is what bang bang shrimp wants to be. The texture was money, the dressing was money. There was some diced (squid?) in it ? Excellent!
Next was the crispy rice and spicy tuna tartar. They cubed sushi rice, and fried it. So thats on a small skewer and you put the tartar on that. Wow !! Also, the ponzu sauce. Definitely not some jar run of the mill stuff you get in BR. This..,, you could taste the fresh lemon etc.
Next the black cod on butter leaf lettuce. This was a cooked dish which had some crispy skin !!! Wow !!! You eat them like lettuce wraps !! Yes !!
The last plate, honestly I did not get the name of. But let me tell you, the pictures don't do it justice. Even though these two items look similar to the ones at places like tsunami, the flavor packed in them put them way ahead of the pack. Nobu music was similar to tsunami but tsunami food can't compete with this. What I did not get a good picture of was the salt and cilantro under the fish. The sesame on the salmon roll gave it a deep flavor and it was properly salted.
A must when in New York !!
Love nobu. To this day the best sushi place. Great vegan options!
Very very slow service and the food is mediocre. They present themselves as a higher end establishment, but the service is very low end. Disappointing and would not return.
Outstanding. Have eaten at their restaurant in Las Vegas and Miami Beach. Not the least expensive meal you ll ever eat but worth it on a splurge
Great staff, great manager Juan, always great food and ambiance is so nice.
Sometimes hard to get a table. Overall great place.
They do a great job accommodating vegetarians here :) Always a fun spot for people watching too...
