The bad news is that Nobu (whether at 57 or TriBeCa) used to be fantastic. Like a homerun when it comes to their dining and food. Used to be. The good news is that the food, service, and decor is still really very good.

Really can't go wrong with anything you order here, even teryaki is good. But it's definitely not the Nobu of yesteryear and if you are going there expecting it to be, you will be disappointed because you are still paying for a high price experience.

Wait staff is fantastic, however, service was friendly and fast but not rushed. Decor on the 57th one is actually pretty decent although I still prefer the one in Tribeca.

Staff is very friendly and kind, which is why my rating is so high.

Aside from that, you ll spend $200-$300 here on sushi and some side dishes and still end up going for a slice of pizza immediately after.

Food is great, but it s more of a taste testing experience.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we hated to depart, we thoroughly enjoyed our Nobu 57 experience. We arrived right on time for our reservation, and we were whisked to a table immediately. Our server, Giovanna, was very helpful in guiding us in making selections we would enjoy...and she did a fantastic job. We had two teenagers with us, and they are not always easy to please, but she did it! The atmosphere was great...not quiet, but not so loud we couldn't hear each other. And the food...it would be hard to beat the food at any Nobu,

This restaurant is very large and decorated with japanese fishing objects. The large menu has many items that are modern takes on Japanese cuisine as well as traditional dishes. Its busy so don't forget to make a reservation.

Almost everything we had was an absolutely delight, but I have to say my spicy garlic shrimp main was actually very poor. The shrimp tasted a bit off - not that nice sweet taste you expect. I would have sent it back except that I didn't want to embarrass my host. Not what I would have expected of Nobu.

Even so, the sashimi, sushi and other dishes we shared - tempura shrimp, chilean sea bass, cod with miso, tenderloin etc. - were all wonderful so it was obviously just a glitch in the Nobu matrix.

Drinks were fun. I despise lavender in all food and drinks... why do people want things to taste like the smell of my granny's bathroom? However the cocktail I had with yuzu and lavender was really excellent - nicely balanced.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time!!! There so many fantastic options on the menu so I encourage you to eat a small lunch ;-) The tuna tartar and new style beef carpaccio are amazing. If you manage to still have room for dessert, try the sour cherry amaretto ice cream!!!

Great sushi and pretty good value. Make sure to sit in the bar area and order off the lunch a la carte menu. If you want to experience Nobu without breaking the bank lunch is the way to go. It also is a great place for people watching.

Wonderful ambiance with modern interesting decor, high ceilings, great service and beautifully presented, tasty dishes and drinks.

I told the bartender I liked Mezcel and he recommended a prickly pear margarita with Mezcel - wonderful; my friend switched to this drink it was that good.

When I've been here before we had a number of small plates and I remember being impressed by the presentation. This time as well:

The rock shrimp with creamy sauce was delicious!

While beautiful I wasn't a fan of the blackened cod as it tasted fishy to me, and I don't like any fish flavor ... The fish was cooked perfectly though and the flavor of the sauce was wonderful.

Highly recommend for food or drinks with friends or coworkers.

Had Dinner here with my family (2 adults, 2 teens age 15 and 17). My son (age 15) wanted to eat here after seeing a youtube video of KSI eating at Nobu las vegas. I did a lot of research before going. I was prepared to do the tasting menu but followed the advice of other reviewers to listen to the servers. Our server did not push the omasake (also, the signature omakase didn't include the wagyu beef which we had to try according to my son and KSI) so I just asked her what to order, and ordered the dishes she recommended. All the dishes were shared.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)

Food: Excellent! If you are looking for fresh and exotic sushi, this is it! My favorites are the Bigeye & Bluefin Toro Scallion and the California Roll!
Drinks: Excellent. Many great specialty drinks to choose from.
Space: This is a massive bi-lievel modern dining setting. The main floor is the bar, lounge, and quainter dining area. The main dining room is an open space is very conducive to mixing and mingling. This is probably NYC's best known pick-up spot. Scene: People watching. Romantic. Trendy. Pick-up scene. Date night.
Crowd: 30-late 50s. Corporate types and professionals. Service: Excellent! This place is always packed. Reserve ahead.

My friends and I called in and made a same day reservation for 8:00pm with no issues. We got an order of oysters for the table, and then we all got the chef's omakase, which was worth every penny. The highlights for sure was the A5 wagyu, and Otoro. Server was great at explaining each dish, and the approach to eating them.

Well this is a Peruvian- Japanese fusion place, as a peruvian restaurant owner give them 1 star, no much of a selection, no kids menu , at 2:15 they close for lunch so in between hour is a limited menu. The portions are ridiculously small ( a french chef will be surprised even Gaston Acurio is a bit more generous ! ) so you probably will leave hungry, ceviche and tacos is appetizer size 2 tiny samples per plate, sushi rolls also tiny, my kids had no choice but only plain rice, no options of chicken, or anything but raw fish, The place is pretty and flavors are good but lack of choices will stress you, I will expect this fancy-non-sense in a small town like Palm Beach but not in New york city.

Food was fabulous. Service is impeccable. Noise is overwhelming and makes it hard to have an intimate meal.. Also if you're seated along the wall as we were, take into account that that's where they push the A/C. It's cold as hell there.

Been in Nobu in LA, Houston, Dallas, Honolulu, Miami, London and now New York at 57th street and New York down town. Not a disappointment at this location because the standards were the same as in Miami or any Nobu location I have been at. We went there Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the food was excellent The service was great. I would recommend wagyu dumpling for sure before ordering anything.

I ve been coming here for 10 years, and always eat in the lounge instead of the restaurant area (it s much more laid back). And while all the service is top-notch, Luca is something special. He deserves a raise! One note to the chef: BRING BACK THE OYSTERS PHYLLO (in the nest)! It was the best thing in the menu, and you brutally took it off the lounge menu in the last 6 months.

An absolute delight dining at this upscale Japanese restaurant. The rolls are to die for. The maki melts in your mouth with the glaze done just right. Surprisingly or maybe not, the chicken did not live upto the standards set by the other dishes. The bento box, amazing and so is the carrot cake. I guess this is one of the very few places where the food kept me involved enough for me to not take a photograph and just enjoy the food for what it is.

The service was impeccable, the restaurant was nice, and the food was great. The knowledge and service we're top tier. Definitely more of a foodie place where you pay a premium for smaller portions and the name.

Meh.

Meh.

The omikaze was ok - some dishes were better than others. It ended with boring noodles in chicken broth. We all took a bite and just kind of laughed. Far from worth the price.

I have liked other Nobu locations, but this one seemed to lack creativity and orderliness. The bathroom was pretty dirty and the water in the faucets was ice cold. It s the little things.

I kind of feel like Nobu has become the place to go for people who haven t traveled much, just learned the word omikze and want to use it.

Love this place but be prepared to dump half a month's rent to experience a full meal. We usually end up ordering a round of food and then ordering more so it really adds up. The dining room space is really lovely and open, unlike the downtown location which is also lovely but more intimate. Probably some celebrities will be there; it's that kind of place (you pay for it). If the restaurant is fully booked you can sit at the bar downstairs. Because it is a large space it is usually possible to book a table a few days ahead if not same day.

The best sushi I have ever had! Definitely worth the hype. Everything tasted fresh and looked amazing! I love everything from the ambiance, menu, and service. Everything I had was executed perfectly and tasted even better! Definitely worth a trip if you're thinking about it! Be prepared to fork over a decent chunk of change, but it is well worth it! Will be back indefinitely!

Had the most wonderful experience here. We had the full option Omakase (without wine pairing). Made from the finest produce, every flavour combination was absolutely spot on. Trendy, bustling atmosphere but acoustics were great and we had no trouble hearing each other talk. Staff was super friendly and professional. Perfect evening. A wonderful sushi restaurant! Its easily one of the best in the city. There are many menu choices and the service and atmosphere are always impeccable. Make sure you bring your banker. It ain't cheap.
