Stopped to make an appointment to book a wedding venue. Stopped to take a photo of the rotunda and a lady came out and yelled at me for not having a permit ? Good lord how rude. I ll take my business elsewhere. You have a beautiful building but the staff was very rude.

Prior to COVID-19, I had nothing but good comments to share about the Pennsylvanian Apartments and its staff. For the past year, I've made allowances in expectations because of the hard times. However, I have seen nothing but service disruptions and disregard. They have held weddings during the worst of it. They have made little to no effort in enforcing masking. We regularly have twenty-plus guests milling around the lobby on a weekend. Fair enough-- those are COVID-related issues.
What is outrageous are the issues you'd expect to have fixed regardless of people's personal beliefs about following state/city guidelines. We have had only 1 operable elevator for months at a time. Maintenance requests have been ignored for as much as a week. The front door is often unattended. Groceries are delivered, taken into a locked storage room, and no email goes out to come and pick them up.
It's a gorgeous building and a great location. Had I read a review like this 2 years ago, I would've looked for another place to rent.
Beautiful historic building. Apartments are very clean and well appointed. Some are rentals and some house permanent residents. We rented an apartment for coming to a wedding. It was a one bedroom, beautiful modern kitchen, living room and bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The management of the rental stayed in touch in case we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again. There's a wonderful fitness center. Walking distance to a lot of downtown.
Honestly, I want to love this place, but there have just been too many issues to give a fully positive review. I'll admit that the building itself is beautiful, and it's in a great location in the downtown area. I moved into a newly remodeled one bedroom apartment last August. Over the course of the year, I had 5 leaks occur with a ruptured hot water tank, leaking AC drainage line, bath tub spout behind wall, and toilet seal. It took days for the hot water tank to be fixed, even though it was flowing mass amounts of water into the wall & raising my electric bill. My bathroom ceiling was left damaged, and rust stains were splattered all over the tile flooring. I had to scrub it clean after work. I get that issues do happen, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt hoping that they'd improve. There was also a huge water link break that damaged seven floors of the building (this tells me that there's possibly a plumbing issue). Fast forward to now (August 2020), I decided to give the property another chance and transferred into a larger one bedroom. Upon move in to the new unit, my kitchen sink was leaking all over the counter and to the underneath of the cabinet, the drains are emitting a strong sewage gas odor, the AC was malfunctioning (fixed), and the pressure valve on my water line was/still is leaking. I had to put in multiple work orders for the same issues several times. Maintenance tends to pop quickly with some quick fix that never seems to work, then seem irritated when you have to call them back to fix it again. I live and work for home a majority of the time, so this place is not only my work place but my sanctuary to relax after my work day. The added stress is not needed. I will say that Katie and Laura have always been pleasant to work with, and I don't place the blame on them for any of the maintenance issues. I'm really hoping they work to improve, because I love my apartment and the views. I'm just frustrated with the professionalism from management and the maintenance staff when it comes to addressing issues correctly the first time. I'll come back to update my experience within the next few months. Here's to hoping things improve.
A great event space. The Great Hall is really spectacular and has superb acoustics.
This place is also an architectural gem. It's rotunda is breathtaking at night. I looks like they have events under the rotunda during the daytime. If you have a chance to attend an event I would highly recommend it.
I've been a resident here for about 12 days and my experience couldnt be better! my new apartment is absolutely beautiful it was nice and clean upon move in and everyone i met so far- from the staff to the other tenants- have been so nice and friendly !
This place is a beautiful building & security was great. But while living here inside the building could be very dirty, upper management was not organized, and the valet crew damaged my car and failed to report it to me. Wouldn t recommend living here - better putting your money in a place that takes care of you as a resident.
Beautiful architecture and a supposedly historic landmark but will kick you out of their outdoor area for trying to take a photo. Rude staff threatened to call the police 30 seconds after I arrived.
