Don't sign a contract

Looks like I'm having the same issues as a lot of other folks that use Nitel. We had a closed location that I requested via email that they deactivate. Of course because I didn't use the proper form in their ticketing system they ignored the request and didn't reply. Then between when the account would have been renewed I replied to an email they sent about renewing all the account. Now I'm stuck in a 3 year contract for a location that isn't hooked up nor exists any further. We already paid for an unneeded 6 months.
Sad part we have 5 other accounts here that we are current on.
It's a bit scummy on their part.

Other notes:
- Service is fine, no complaints there.
- Response times from billing folks are awful. It's generally 1 week plus to get a response.
- They've been recently acquired by Comcast, so maybe start with comcast if you are looking for an alternative in your area.

Think twice about signing a contract with these guys they'll enforce it, twist the knife, and shoot themselves in the foot at the same time.

I will not, if I can help it, stick with these guys at the end of our next batch of completed contracts.

Oh my goodness! These guys are great. Nitel tech support is amazing. I just got off the phone with Daniel, who spent at least 30 minutes with me trouble shooting my blu-ray device. Although my issue had nothing to do with Nitel, Daniel very kindly walked me through setting up my blu-ray. He was so patient the entire time. Nitel was so much more helpful than the Sony tech support and Best Buy combined! And the issue was not even related to their service!

If I could give a zero star rating I would. Stay away from this business at all costs! Awful business practices and blatantly violates the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act of IL. Hopefully this review will save someone an expensive future headache.

Zero stars is more accurate. We paid for service from Nitel for 3.5 years on a 3 year contract (Covid-19 delays). Nitel is the worst ISP I have worked with in 30 years of IT experience. All their employees are forced to follow their policies on all matters no matter what the situation is, so a large percentage of the time they are aggravating their customers multiple times a month. Any company that doesn't give their employees leeway to adjust how they handle work depending on different situations that arise on a daily basis is a poorly run company, and Nitel is very poorly run. We're glad to have left them for a much better, larger ISP.

They sent someone to do a site review who missed adding the need for a router. Took them 2+ weeks to get a router BUT they have been charging me all the entire 2 weeks and despite multiple requests, they said their "management" is going to continue charging. They do NOT care about customers.

Company heavily inflates numbers and lies about how well they are doing Pros -NONE for employees; you come here work hard and your reward will be cheap lunch and drunk outings - no such thing as a career in this company. Mind you this has been a start up company for the last 10 years. How HR manages employees is a joke they are clueless and pawns for upper management. HR runs around like headless horses here. If problems occur employees are blamed and executives hide under the blanket.
1) Person in charge of operations told me personally how women can be moody and complain all the time.
2) The highest level executive flirts with staff members promotes alcoholism.
3) I have never worked for an organization that is so unorganized, disloyal, carless, and more sexist than NITEL.
4) This is by far the worst company I have worked for. You are better of working anywhere else. The pay is horrible, they laid of workers right before promition was due! If you ever request time off it's considered a crime in this company.
5) Training in this company is difficult not to blame management but due to the fact of lack of resources the company fails to provide. The company is always short staffed, overworked, and under pays employees. PLEASE DONT TRY TO GET A JOB IN THIS COMPANY!!! you will never be appreciated all you will get in return is gloves/tshirts with company logo and hot dogs and cheap booze as your reward.
Company failed to meet their annual quota so they let people go they couldn't afford to keep all while making false promises about promotions. This is not a game you are playing, this is someone's career you are messing with.

Interviewed, twice, never got a notification of no longer being considered, even after a follow up email. Sad since the people seemed real nice. If you can't follow up with employment, wonder how they follow up with customers.

The worst. So bad I can't even put it into words. They didn't communicate the equipment we needed to buy and install before they connected us with they internet service. But they billed us for a month before we even got their service. It is impossible to get a credit. It is like dealing with robots that are programmed to say one thing - "I can't help you". Worse than AT&T if you can believe that.

I signed a contract with Nitel, Inc. for telephone service through VOIP, the contract rate was $1335.89 which included the lease of the phone system, phone service, and long distance. the service started October 2013 and we when received the first bill from Nitel the charges were $2,927 with over $700.00 in taxes and service fees I immediately called and emailed our service rep to question the charges and got no response. upon further review of the bill Nitel had another companies account on our bill which we brought to their attention and was not fixed or credited for well over 1 year, and the contract rates were still not fixed credited or adjusted to the contract rate, our account was still being overcharged be several hundred dollars a month, the next months charges were over $1,900. After our phone system and the T1 line circuit that was provided by Nitel was constantly down and we had no response to the numerous phone calls and emails about the billing issues we decided to cancel the contract and service with Nitel. Nitel had provided us with a 180 day guarantee of service . In January 2014 we gave notice that we were switching back to AT&T because of all the issues. I hand delivered the phone system back to the company to their employee Alyssa Homer. I have paid Nitel the contracted amount and now the company is the is threatening to take me to court for the balance of the fraudulent charges. early termination, fees and the phone system which was returned to the office in Chicago.
I have contacted the FCC on this company and hope that anyone else that has used reviews their billing statements If you notice fraudulent charges on your statements I suggest you contact the FCC also!

I have been working at Nitel for over 3 years. By far the best company to work for. Great people at all levels of the company, great culture, flexible hours and you can wear Jeans every single day. This place is AWESOME!!!

Simply the best. for $50 a month you get internet speeds upwards of 80Mbps!. Whats more is their customer service and service plans. No awkward promotions, no clueless contractors but just a smooth completely online customer support system. This truly is internet for the 21st century. Thank you Nitel.

Great internet speed and can't-beat pricing. The two technicians who came over to get me connected, Devin and Jad were really competent, excellent at customer service, and a pair of rad humans to boot. They got my service connected very quickly.

NITEL is certrainly NOT a company you want to deal with if you are a small business. After over 3 years of being a customer, we lost a contract that was the sole reason for T1 service.
We sent emails 1) to the sales rep, 2) to customer service and 3) to the president of the company, and have not heard anything back except an auto generated bill for over $4,000.00 that claims to be an early termination fee. We were unaware of the termination process, we asked for understanding and clarification, and cannot get anyone to even answer our emails or return phone calls. A lot different than when we first signed up over 3 years ago when they were selling us the T1.

I have had Nitel at my Infinity condo for several years and have been happy with the service. Today I had the first service required. Scheduling was easy and I was given a specific time ( not a four hour window like some providers).
The technician was prompt, knowledgeable and fixed the problem and made updates. I highly recommend him!

Disappointed in the fact that they were supposed to be handling the local loop for a cross country connection for a major service provider. After waiting multiple months to find this out I now need to get another provider to get this connection in place. Blew my project out of the water by at least 2 months. Not happy in the slightest.
