Absolutely gorgeous, beautiful artworks and stunning grounds nestled in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind. This should be on everones bucket list.

Really a great place. Worth a visit, especially if there is an event here. A great setting and interesting sculptures add even more interest.
Great place to see art in its natural and true form.
Attended the Annual JAZZ festival which happens during the first week of September. There are usually a couple of bands ending with a famous dj .
What should have been a great day out turned out to be one of the worst in December. The park is nice to walk through and the gardens fairly well kept. Unfortunately there are hardly anything to guide you around or give you an idea of what the sculptures are or where to go. We would follow a path only to be met with regular signs telling you that you are entering private property. Some of the sculptures are quite poorly maintained as well and this was a bit of a let down.
The worst part by far was the terrible way we were treated when we dared to go to the restaurant. I completely understand the restaurant is separate from the park but as a visitor this does not matter as I expect the same experience. We were very rudely "chased" away by the owners girlfriend who was completely overwhelmed by a booking, which at the time we were there was nowhere to be seen. When we were told we could not get anything to eat we asked if we could at least get a drink as it was hot and we were thirsty, this also became an issue but she eventually instructed the staff to get us an orange juice. We did question why another table was able to get food and drinks and was told it was an exception..not sure why she couldn't do that for us maybe because we were a gay couple?
All in all I think Nirox has potential but I would not based on our experience recommend it to anyone especially considering the high ticket price and complete lack of service ftom the so called restaurant.
What an enchanting place, nestled near the cradle of mankind. Had a delightful time with #corona sunsets, celebrating the summer solstice. Mind blowing sculptures, super imagery and what an amazing space
A beautiful park witch gives off a magical essence.
Built with passion, not for practicality x
A stunning park to visit and just take it easy on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The park is wonderfully landscaped and there are some fascinating birds that live in the park. The sculptures are changed occasionally so everytime you visit you get a different experience. Check the website to see what exhibitions are on. Also entry to park is cheaper on weekends where there is no events. The food was good there relatively affordable. It's a harvest table style and they can even arrange a picnic basket for you. Oh and watch out for the monkeys! One of them stole my lunch while I was not looking
It's a cool place, it's a nice break from the regular city vibe. The space is quite nice and open and it's a beautiful spot to explore. The sculptures are cool, there aren't as many of them as I thought there might be but it's cool to look for more as you explore.
Love the place. We keep going back. Very calming. Events are very well organized.
Love this place. Very scenic, great food lots of interesting art.
It is a beautiful park, landscaped in the English tradition, so just like a slightly controlled landscape; natural grasses are let to grow normally, lakes contains trout that lives happily, artworks dot the landscape everywhere. True piece of mind.
Water water everywhere, gardens to frame, sculpture to focus, what's not to visit
I m giving Nirox a 5 rating as it is so beautiful and unique. I bring people here all the time to enjoy the sculptures and the stunning grounds.
I think a lot more could be done to market the park and the last time we went there was no food available which was a pity. On the previous occasion the restaurant was open and there was live music - it was awesome.
A really beautiful park to spend some time with family or friends. Lots of lovely sculptures to check out. Very serene.
Wouldn't believe this in the heart of a city. An amzing place to just wander.
I had a great time there, good spot to host a party or any other event
Always an amazing experience coming there, from the food, to the drinks to the live sets. Absolutely amazing.
Beautiful place that is well maintained with a very relaxing atmosphere
Absolutely fabulous sculpture park! A total delight of all the senses.
Beautiful place to spend a hole Sunday day! The pop up restaurant it's a great high light!
Lovely venue. Amusing sculptures and fun events. Lavatories could use some expanding though.
Wonderfull sceneries and calm saroundings. Perfect place for family outings.
The experience was less rewarding, as the park needs a proper cleanup. The restaurant is a no-no, it is managed by the owner of the restaurant and she little to zero customer service experience, he really need to get someone else in to run the eatery otherwise it is set for a desaster.
Beautiful art!
But unfortunately not allowed for picnic and bring our own food, the drink price inside is very expensive.
Wonderful sculpture park. Check opening times before going.
Amazing outing. Artwork and nature combined in to one. The art is unusual and the river flowing through the property that they have got flowing into lakes is scenic.
Absolutely amazing space with breath taking landscape art, sculptures and scenery. Great for unwinding and taking a break from your fast-paced city life to clear your mind and be surrounded by nature.
Around every corner you'll either find interesting art or beautiful scenes that you can just look at for hours while your eyes feast on the splendor. It's also one of the best places to take a picnic blanket, lie down under the trees and unwind with your favourite book. Returning from a trip to Nirox always leaves me refreshed, inspired and excited about being alive!
The music festivals also have a great atmosphere, good food and fantastic music. Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed!
I went there with a photography group to take photos of the sculptures. We went in winter and it was still very pretty.
Looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, take the short trip to Nirox Sculpture Park. Keep an eye out for Open days and Music event hosted for the full experience!
No amount of superlatives could do this place justice.
Lovely outdoor area for special events. Beautiful sculpture all around. Dog and kids friendly - but best to confirm if dog friendly based on the event being hosted. Plenty of free and safe parking available.
Very interesting venue but parking can be a drag on busy events.
Tranquil, calm, peaceful, awesome! A lot of thought, consideration and heart was placed when this space was being created. Mother nature at its finest, together with creativity of the human mind have collaborated to create magnificence. Sounds of birds and gently flowing streams permeate the air. I have purposefully placed only 2 pics here, as you have to go there to experience its magnificence. Highly recommended!
A 40 minute drive out of Central Johannesburg. Nirox has rolling lawns that offer a child friendly long leisurely walk while viewing sculptures and art installations. There are permanent sculptures and then ever changing installations which means you can visit it repeatedly without getting bored. Look out for the Yoko Ono Wish for Hope Trees and add your wish. Food: The Nita's Kitchen pop up now means you can buy food and beverages on site.
Toilets: I would note the park has two unisex toilets open to the public, one of which is a family toilet with a large changing slab, it's concrete so bring your own changing mat.
Still an amazing experience, love the openness and quiet.
Beautiful gardens of lush green grass and trees with beautiful ponds. We had a wonderful peaceful few hours in the gardens exploring the art. There is a lovely restaurant which we did not eat at, but were assured was fabulous. You need to book at "And then there was fire" No food or drinks were allowed into the park.
Serene, calm, beautiful spaces, fantastic service and the kitchen serve their own grown foods which is not just healthy but an infusion of delectable taste Sensations!
A big plus and yes you deserve to indulge your senses here.
Epic experience every time... This is Mzansi Magic of Art and Sculpture
One of the nicer outdoor venues in Gauteng, even on a cold winter Sunday morning.
The sculpture place is nice the pop up kitchen is overpriced
This is a beautiful place to visit when it's open to the public. The annual Winter Sculpture Fair has become more about the food but it is a great opportunity to explore the grounds with a glass of good wine.
Nirox is a stunning location and a phenomenal place to spend an afternoon - whether you need to let your children run free or you're a group of friends aiming for a long lunch on the lawn. The events here are usually exceptionally good.
Stunning wedding venue with serene countryside and unique aesthetic experience
Fantastic art, place is nature at its best, meeting different people and nationality and fantastic outing and breath of fresh air
Really beautiful and peaceful. Great for picnics with the family or friends. It reminds me of Alice in Wonder Land
Lovely Picnic Spot, serene & very well kept. Thoughtfully planned and an exceptionally unique experience. Plan to stay a few hours and adventure around.
The property is gloriously large. The rolling hills and art transports you into deep thought. It can be a little eerie at times, but well worth a stop.
Absolutely amazing. So many trees, grass, dams, river, sculptures. Good place to connect with earth
Incredible oasis, beautifully landscaped and with stunning sculptures scattered on the lawns. Quite and peaceful if there isn't a special event running.
