I must concur with the tone of the other reviews. I am usually not a fervent review writer, and I openly admit that this company has frustrated me quite a bit, but I hope at least that by sharing my experience here, I can help other people understand a couple of things before they purchase the trashcan products and the trashy service of Nine Stars.

After having left several emails, and after having left multiple voicemail messages, the representatives of the company refuse to get back to me. To assess the quality of their products is hard: that the lid on my trashcan stopped working after 3 months is perhaps not telling of the quality of the rest of their product. I understand that manufacturer mistakes can occur, but the treatment of the customer is downright outrageous.

You should be warned that under their warranty policies (which are of arguable legality), the customer is obligated to pay for the shipping of the lid of the trashcan if this breaks, even if this breaks due to obvious manufacturer error. Given that the trashcans sell at a more or less reasonable price, the warranty can hence turn into a joke: if you have the bad luck of having the mechanism on your lid breaking, you can pay half of the value (if I can use that term here) of your purchase again in shipping costs, even if you bear no responsibility at all for the lid failing to work. Calling this "policy" a warranty then indeed turns into a joke.

Succinctly: do not fall into the trap of the reasonable prices offered by Nine Stars Group if you are in any way risk averse, or if you want to have a sense of trust in the way you spend money. A warranty here is by no means a warranty.

I purchased a trash can from the Samsclub website ...

I purchased a trash can from the Samsclub website in November 2018. The automatic lid never worked. Ninestars ask that you don t return items directly to store and you work thru them. I ve sent 3 emails and a message via their contact us section on their website. I have not heard from the company or a representative. I am returning the defective trash can today and will not purchase anymore Ninestars items. Lesson learned!

We ordered a product a few weeks ago, and after an hour realized, we didn't need to order it (we thought the sensor was broken, but the batteries must have been bad...even though we checked the batteries...it started working again after an hour).

My wife then immediately sent a cancellation, to which they replied, they already shipped it, and we would need to send it back to get a refund (we would have to pay the shipping and a 25% handling fee for the return, and they would only reimburse the product before taxes). This tactic is not sound for long term business...we will never use them...and we will tell all of our friends and family and readers of this, to never purchase from Nine Stars Group USA.

ONE WEEK LATER, we got an email that it had just been shipped. So they LIED to us originally. Now this is illegal, but the cost of the product is not worth legal action.

We asked them how we should proceed, given the light that they lied originally, and then they gave us the same return policy as above.

This is a horrible company. I feel sorry for their workers and anyone that buys products through their website.

I'm not having the same issues that other people s...

I'm not having the same issues that other people seem to be having with these trash cans. I ordered mine well over a year ago and it's consistently worked without fail since then. I've tried other motion sensor trashcans in the past, but they never met my expectations, and usually ceased to work after a few months of use. So far I haven't had any problems with my trashcan and still happily use it on a daily basis.

Received as a gift. Works great, however the can has started to rust. When I sent these pics, I was told "We recommend you using a damp cloth or a disinfecting wipe to clean your unit." Seriously... Not recommended.

This business promotes infrared trash containers. The warranty is good for only one year because the lids only operate for about a 1 yr to 1 1/2 years then they go out. The company's solution to the defective lid after the warranty runs out is to buy the lid at full retail price again and throw the old one away in you trash container. They don't offer recycling or fixing the lid at a lower cost. There is only one Receptionist/Customer Service Rep. trying to manage all the aggravated calls from hundreds of dissapointed consumers at this company.

Bought a trash can model # DZT-50_9h 2 months ago...
The can itself is ok but the company is horrible. After only two months and the cover that holds the batteries fell off into the trash. (odd design to put the batteries facing down into a trash can). Contacted company as it seems to be some sort of defect and they wanted no part of helping me. In fact after looking further into it the part itself is back ordered due to the ongoing issue. I contacted them a second time with the same results. Just ended up purchasing a different trash can in the end... Two many companies that look out for their customers to argue over a $5.00 part!!

We've had our 13 gal stainless steel motion sensor...

We've had our 13 gal stainless steel motion sensor trash can for 2 years now. It has been amazing the whole time. Cleans easy and we are still using the original batteries. Accidentally got the sensor wet while cleaning it and it didn't work for two days. It dried itself out and works perfect again. Would give this 10 stars if I could. Will be buying more in the future and as gifts. Pricing was 1/2 of Walmart or other competitors.

Excellent trash can, I have become addicted to the...

Excellent trash can, I have become addicted to the motion sensor can and can't go back. I hear some complaints about the sensor malfunctioning but I have found if you turn it off (with the switch) let it set for no less than 10 minutes, it will return to it's former glory.

Thanks to all the reviews and the consistent theme that this company ranks low in customer service or practical solutions for problems with their product...I've gone elsewhere to replace my existing can. I mean...it's a garbage can...why not go with a company that doesn't treat the customer like garbage? In this day and age...to act as if you're the only game in town...seems to invite failure. You're making trash cans...not curing cancer. Step up your game. See ya...Nine stars would have gotten no stars if I could.

Worked great for a few months. I even bragged to visitors to my house about it. It then started opening and closing on its own(drove my wife nuts) I contacted and did the reset as instructed. It worked a few days then repeated same problem. I contacted nine stars and they said it was under warranty but I had to ship back entire can top at my own expense. My shipping cost was going to not be cost efficient. I then shut it off for a few months. I then replaced the batteries and it seemed to work properly again. It lasted about 2 weeks and started opening and closing again continually. I contacted Nine star again and communicated with Bertha through email. She said she would wave the unnessary return of the failed top . She required me to send her a copy of my invoice. I gave her the shipping number the freight tracking number and the price I paid. She replied I need the invoice. I then copied and pasted the
Original order showing order number price and credit card payment(it was ordered on line and could not get a invoice to print so my only option was to copy and paste) She said not good enough. I tried everything then finally told her she won and I give up. It was not worth me getting excited about anymore. This product is great while it works and I loved it. But it failed and was more aggravating then was worth. I since read other reviews and see that they fail quite often. It is not a matter if they will fail it is a matter of when it will fail. Their warranty is useless. The customer service will wear you out and you will never get a replacement or satisfaction. I would not recommend this product.
