This venue has some really weird rules that really ruined my night. First of all it was too loud for me and I wanted to go to the car until I felt better and re-entry is only 21+ which is the most unfair rule I ve ever heard of. Staff was incredibly rude to me and one security guard was mad at me and yelling at me for some reason. The audio needs some attention because I couldn t hear any of the singers the other night. They should also have ear plugs for sale but I couldn t find anybody who was selling them. Not coming back to this venue after having to deal with the rude staff.

Played upstairs tonight and even with all the rain, weird obstacles in the hallway blocking bands from getting in and out, and myself and band mates exhausted we had a great time and really enjoyed this place. The soundman was a saint and even went and got the band water. The sound check had to be quick so not much monitor to help but we knew things were sounding good by the crowed reactions.

I really don t know what it is about this place but I think it s the staff. If anyone has problems with any of the security personnel it could only be their own fault because all of them are great and do a good job.

Very cool place for bands to play and to see a good show. I hope to play there again. Thanks to all from Riot Gear!!

By the way the room temperature was perfect and they had plenty of fans and ceiling fans. The lady at the ticket counter was very cool as everyone in the place and what a great bunch of people in the crowed.

DENIES YOU WATER EVEN FOR PURCHASE, which if i recall is against the law in arizona. This place is a joke. the meathead broski security who dont know their culos from a hole in the ground to the 6 dollar beers half full, Do yourself a favor and go to a real venue.

It was awesome. My son EJ Sparks won his match and got the belt back from Johnny Jeter's old cheating behind. I got to meet 2 Cold Scorpio and Time Storm, two of the wrestlers from back in the day. It was nice talking with them. They spoke highly of my son EJ Sparks.

I've passed by and its looks like a cool spot for good jams and pull a drink plus anyplace that will welcome the dead Kennedys is my kind of place as for free water don't go to a bar for water, punk is dirty, love it. good thing that dude didn't like this place cause I hate water sipping dick when I trying to hang out.

This place is unique and cool and in the heart of old downtown Mesa I go for wrestling events which in the summertime can tend to be a little hot in the back but right now this time of year this place is off the chain they have a pretty unique coffee shop up in the front is great for socializing and hanging out with friends definites must stop to place if you're in downtown Mesa

This place is terrible! Rozz Dyliams was booked for this show and they snubbed him last minute because of the nature of his lyrics despite allowing other artists who have date raped and endorses the use of drugs to their audience. Hypocrites! !!!!!!

I really appreciate the open venue to all the different types of music here in the valley and abroad. One thing about this place that really blows is the sound and the heat in the venue. This place really needs some acoustic treatment and sum decent air conditioning. Now the shitty sound is not all to blame on the sound engineers. The brick walls reflect all that sound that is blasting off the stage and is bouncing all over the place. Invest in sum acoustic pads and curtains at least. Last time my band played here I was drenched in sweat from head to toe. Now sure that looks cool, but think of the paying fans that have to sit through shitty sound and muggy conditions. Really makes the vibe of the show less appealing. Although the place is perfect for a show space wise, some additional reinforcements need to be made. Also the area for the 21 and over crowd could move closer to the stage about 20 more feet with some tables and bar stools. This venue has the potential to be one of the best venues in the valley with these modifications in mind.

Terrible, dirty, & unorganized. Took daughter & her friend for TLG 2016. They enjoyed themselves seeing the kids in the act- (was the main good thing.) As one of the few parents, about 80% of the floor space was open - should have provided some chairs (would have only needed about 15 for adults). I'm sitting against the wall on very nasty stained carpet. I'd stand & lean against the wall but we've been standing outside for over 2.5 hours waiting to get let in. Consider a mist system for where you make people line up - its phoenix in July... Probably could have sold a lot of water outside! Have it available in excess quantities! Guy came out a couple times giving out a few bottles & apologizing for the wait to get in - said he only had a few bottles - what!? (I think the venue holds about 1100 & i'm guessing about 200 people were there.) No order on line outside - kids kept rushing the line to try and see one of the acts peeking out of the alley entrance - to be expected with 14 year olds but could have been kept in order better with ropes or lines like the movies use. My experience & perspective here, not one to go to concerts. Could have been so much better. Was humid inside - ceiling fans not enough to make it comfortable. Disappointing.

Easy to get stuck on the bad stuff, but to be fair, i thought the lighting was good. Not too dark, not too bright. Sound system was good.

Conveniently located in a super cute downtown mesa area, the theater lets off a underground vibe in the midst of a regular downtown atmosphere. They host alot of great punkish bands that are very much loved among a well neglected genre of fans. They have a small selection of beer and soda for their attendees, but there is queens pizza a few doors down that offers a delicious bite while you're enjoying the performance! Fair entry prices and great lineups!

"The place is old" is not a decent excuse for the total lack of air conditioning...or air *movement, really. It felt hotter downstairs than it was outside. I mean at least there was a breeze outside. I won't come here for another show; it's not worth the ticket price.

First off, you enter from the front and there's this absolutely wonderful cafe/small restaurant. Heading back to the theater and it's a nice, big theater for just about any type of entery - large stage, looks like it can fit about 400-500 people. And then comes the downer... Sound system was not impressive, not sure if that was the fault of the equipment or the engineer. I'm a AV guy, so maybe I'm reacting differently than a normal ear person, but why have this great looking venue and not have a kick-ass audio system?? And there was three mics on stage, two of which were one directional, condenser microphones that you use in a recording studio, not for live performance. Plus, there's this terribly loud air conditioner running above the crowd space interfering and overbearing the already poor quality sound. To end on a somewhat positive... After making some improvements, this could be a large enough venue to have some mid-level bands, comedians, and other entertainment. If that does pop off, where to park would be the next fix on the agenda.

Either this venue needs a new sound guy, or a new PA system. Holy hell, my ears were ringing for 3 days straight after seeing Thy Art is Murder and Born of Osiris. Seriously, it was all just white noise. You could hardly hear anything remotely clear. Even one of the opening bands complained about levels and the sound guy said "Yeah, just sing louder".

Had a decent time regardless, the guy selling water was nice, and the ladies at the ticket counter were cool.

Saw Rittz and King Lil G, good show, but one little bar and lots of people wanting beer with their back to the stage. I would suggest a 2nd bar and maybe position them where the merch booths are currently so the load can be split and you always have a visual on the stage, put the merch booths in the back. But, historical place with decent acoustics/sound, very good security with personality, dude checking the line was hilarious while moving things along swiftly. Easy parking, could use another set of restrooms, but most venues in Phx area could. Enjoyed it, will hit it again if the talent on the bill calls for the venue.

I saw Blessedbethyname play here 15 years ago. The Nile is still here, and better than ever. I saw a live body suspension here, too, long ago. The guy had 4 hooks in his back and as the band played, he swung around like a goshdang lunatic. It was great. He passed out and went limp. The band kept chugging along, like classic middle class white Arizona metal. It's definitely better now. No more highschool bands at the Nile.

I've been going to the Nile since I was in highschool 20 years ago. Besides the time it was shut down of course. Haven't been for years but saw a show there the other day. Nothing much has changed and still a good place to see shows. Except the fact I cant bring my polar pop in. Haha

i have been here for multiple shows and it's always a blast!! pricing on drinks is actually pretty awesome. I have been here for Dead Kennedys, plenty of Authority Zero, and recently Horrorpops! The staff are pretty helpful and nice. I would definitely come back for more shows in the future!

What a cute place. We were antique shopping in downtown Mesa and we're looking for a bite. My wife and I are vegan so it is not always easy to find restaurants. This was a quaint spot. Very local vibe. You can just hang out with a coffee and have a fast meal. Definitely try the Philly steak sandwich or the buffalo chicken sandwich.

Only went to the Nile Cafe in front of the theater but they were very friendly and helpful! My first foray into vegan food and I was not disappointed here. Even served shepherd's pie in ceramic bowl instead of plastic or paper. And I'm telling all my vegan friends about it.

I feel bad for anyone who books the stage downstairs. There is no air circulation and the heat is so...moist. You can feel it radiating from outside the venue. Just finished watching a band and even the vocalist said he couldn't breath air into his lungs. I paid $25 for this show. Nile Theatre needs to improve the quality of the environment down there, badly.

This place needs air conditioning!!! We live in Arizona for Christ's sake. It should be illegal to not have air conditioning in a public building when it's over 100 degrees outside. Some seating would be nice too.
