I absolutely loved everything about my time with Nile River Explorers. We were greeted with hot coffee and warm smiles upon arrival at reception, all of the food (including the hot breakfast, snacks, and lunch) were delicious, and most importantly, our time on the water was top-notch. I'd like to give a personal shout out to our wonderful guide, Josh, who not only safely took us down the water, but was also just a complete delight! I'd also like to personally thank Nash- he was a wonderful host at Explorers Backpackers and showed us all a spectacular night out in Jinja.

If I could go back and do it all again tomorrow, I'd be there in a heart beat.

Great place!! Really friendly and helpful staff, particularly Jaques who was a legend. Our room wasn't ready so we were put in the River Cottage and it was so beautiful!
Awesome food and good atmosphere - gets a bit loud at night so bring ear plugs if you want an early night!

Would have been a great place though alot has to be changed. During our stay no bathroom sandles, electricity was switched off every night, we didn't have water in the bathroom, incase of an emergency at night i didn't see any body ard the hotel I should cal it a camp site. Other than that nice view

Amazing experience. Tented Safari camp with a view if the river is hands-down the best way to stay here. Friendly, kind staff even ehen our large groups had several schedule changes and delays. The nachos are SOO good there.

It was a great day of rafting with NRE. The shuttle, coffee, food, and drinks were all very good and organized well. Josh was our guide. He was knowledgeable and a lot of fun and made it even more enjoyable. If you're near Jinja, I highly recommend booking a day of white water rafting with NRE. Memorable experience.

Very Nice place to swim, do rafting, camping and other outdoor activities. Though they should consider giving a subsidised package to the East African Community and other foreigners for the activities like rafting.

Very mixed reviews.

The room:
My brother and I took the twin room and it was great, nice hot shower, comfortable and mosquito nets for each bed. The doors aren t very secure at all but the hostel has security at the entrance and staff around so we weren t so worried about that.

The food:
The food was very hot and miss and could be quite bad at times. The English breakfast was dripping with oil and pretty bad, coffee pots aren t washed out so all of the coffee floats in the drink, burger one day was great, a few days later was particularly bad. we ate street food from outside and that was great.

Staff:
The staff are 50/50 on site, a few very friendly and many of them rude, miserable and very slow. One of them at one point looked frustrated that we ordered a drink because he had to get up.
There are so many friendly, great people in Uganda that I can t see why these staff were chosen. Again some were great but it s quite obvious who s not.
There s not really any excuse for rude, unwelcoming staff.

Activities:
The white water rafting was great, it can be booked on site and the team are really well organised, it s safe and ran really smoothly. We had a great time.
The price is particularly high, too high we feel it was almost taking advantage of people who will book the experience but the activity was great and I d recommend.
Sunset cruise was a nice way to socialise but again this was very overpriced if booked on its own and if paying full price I don t think it s worth it. It s only 2 hours not so long, yes it s a beautiful view but for the price and what s included it s too high. Would be nice if they made this more interactive, made it a longer trip and did something extra, it was only background music.

Location:
the view from the hostel is amazing and that s a big part of what sells it, a clear view across the River Nile. it s a bit of a drive into the main city and some more local bars nearby but I would recommend going to those with a local if going.

Aside from that it s well located and plenty of activities to do there. I hope the management take note of the feedback and make some changes.
