The events and performances are great. However, the venue for the events needs work. I was really disappointed in the last few concerts I went to. The garbage situation was pretty bad. You would also think with everything going on that the security and safety of the event would be better. The smoking, drinking, and lude behavior at the last few concerts were poor and the staff does nothing to improve it. Shameful.

Very nice place to see a concert been here a number of times a lot of tailgating goes on here with a lot of other things not to be mentioned but everyone is having a great time and i have not seen any one get out of hand a really good time by all.

This is what you get when the government designs and operate things that should be left to the private sector. Most seats are so far from the stage that you can't see the performers. You have to stare at the screen. What did they do in the Fifties when this place was built? The vast majority of the seating is alcohol-free, because, well, its the government. You can't even buy it with most tickets. You can't even tailgate in the parking lot with a beer before the show, unless you're willing to risk arrest. So, if you want to settle for a soft drink, bring a book or your smart phone to kill your time on line. The retirees and students who work there for the summer are not built for speed. And there are, what, two exits from the parking lot? So leave yourself an hour or so just to get on the road after the show. It's just a bad idea. Unless the band is one I'd absolutely kill to see, I'd spend my evening elsewhere.

Great concert tonight. Lady antebellum and Darius Rucker were amazing!!! One thing they need to improve is their wireless credit card machines. Every transaction took forever and with the long lines, it became a nightmare. The other thing they need to do is hire more people to work the memorabilia booths. 2 people working the main booth and trying to service thousands of people. Add that to the slow credit card processing and I wanted to gouge out my eyeballs by the time I got a tee shirt.

it was raining that day I went to see niall horan. really far to get too, the buses to the theater stopped working after 5pm. in between two stops and i was overall miserable except during the concert.

Great venue when the weather is nice. Even though it was hot during the day, it was totally comfortable here at night. Pentatonix was fabulous. Amazing what they can do with their voices.

One of the greatest places to watch a concert. You can spend all day at the beach and then come here to catch good tunes. The tailgate parties are fun and rarely get out of hand. Plenty of parking, but if you do not get there early you will be walking from the second lot. Also, best practice is to either leave the concert early or plan on waiting until the lot clears out after the concert.

So I was given tickets from goldstar all the way at the top. I scoped out other sections and they were semi empty. I decided to move down to where I could see better. Glad I did cause as I was going down I noticed that people were inspecting the elevator. Seems that there might have been an accident with the elevator. The parking is horrible as people will still be there from the beach and tailgating. There is no direction and I am surprised there haven't been any accidents. Also remember you are at the beach which is a bit cooler. Bring a sweatshirt or light sweater.

Great outdoor concert venue right off the beach. The higher your seats, the better the view of the ocean and the bay. Twin jumbotrons bring the stage closer. Be warned that the floor seating can occasionally flood during very high tides, so wear sandals or old sneakers if you can't read a tide table. ;)

I have been going to this venue for many years and the last 2 years has been disappointing. Field 5 now charges $40. to park or you have to walk through bushes from field 4. Not acceptable. Stop the people from taking up spots to tailgate and stop charging for field 5

Great location on the water, good venue for concerts . I have went there several times to see different artists. At times, I think acoustics could be better but that may just be based on seating and outdoor environment.

Getting into the lot is scary because people come from both sides. Watch out for guys selling knockoff shirts and tailgaters while you park (perfect for tailgating). Getting out of the lot is also scary because NYers are impatient. A fun venue to see a concert at, but if you're all the way at the top beware, it sways when people are up and dancing/jumping. Generally appears clean, strict about drinks. People at the merch table are miserable but all other staff are friendly. Big screens help w the view if you're up high, and bring a sweater - it gets chilly on the water. Lots of bathrooms means the line moves quick. Cheap tickets for select future concerts are generally available cash only (great deal).

Seeing a show outside is great! The acoustics are also great for an outdoor venue. The alcohol policy of not being able to take drinks to your seat is annoying to say the least and it's also not the easiest place to get to.

Layout isn't the greatest with some very wide rows & removal of aisles. Not enough steepness in front section. Concession prices are fairly outrageous, making Manhattan cheap. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful location & environment, which isn't necessarily great for seeing the show. Certainly a place one should get to at some point.

Music was great, venue is run absolutely terrible, it's a literal nightmare to try and get in, and if it's a rock show forget trying to get a drink. You get funneled into a disorganized line like cattle to pay $15 for a bud light...get what ya pay for

Open and parking is copious. This venue has done well with the variety of food options but the seating leaves much to be desired. Its tired and worn out. It s sometimes cranky and will be cramped if you re above 5 8 . Bathrooms are plenty and decent but needs to maintained after every use. Shoutout to Delta Club at MSG! I hope this theater gets a fresh infusion of cash so that they can improve their facilities. Its the perfect venue for summer programs(concerts for millenials) and it seats right next to the beach. It can get windy so bring a jacket during those late summer months. I ve had some of the most enjoyable concerts here though. People really like to have fun here, pre show and during the show. Its a gem.

Definitely a bit dated however the sound here is great which is the most important thing about a venue imo. If you don't drive here it can be a pain. Lirr to an Uber if you wanna get a little toasty.

Jones beach theater does not allow alcohol outside of VIP tent which costs extra. -1 star. Security will confiscate any alcohol you are found consuming. -1 star. There is no GA location where you could enjoy a beer (at a concert, mind blown). -1 star. Food options have gotten better and the outdoor summer concerts have a nice atmosphere. 2 stars.

My favorite venue for summer concerts. The atmosphere is great and the addition of artisan food trucks and food stands makes it even better. Depending on the type of crowd the show will bring affects the layout in the common areas. If the show will draw a lot of rowdy drinkers, they wisely keep the people drinking to one section and do not allow them to carry liquor outside of that roped off section. If it's not such a rowdy bunch, its more casual layout (which I like better). The need to do better with crowd control at the merch stands, always hectic.

Best concert venue I have been to. Got there early and was surprised to find out you can walk to the Boardwalk from the parking lot and or stroll on the beach! I love how the stage is basically on the water! The food was excellent! Great acoustics!

Amazing view by the beach. Its so beautiful as the sun goes down by the beach while seeing the concert. Mazzanine seats are little too far back. I can't zoom in to the stage with iPhone 7+ . Everyone pre game at the parking lot.

My absolute favorite place in the world! Not a bad seat in the house. Great place to see a show on a summer's night.

Tip: Get there early so you can park in the first lott and won't have to walk too far.

Warning: Leaving the lott after the event can be crowded and frustrating. So if you aren't the aggressive driver type bring some snacks and hang back until it clears out.
