Nice large room, comfortable beds, very large bathroom ( we had the triple room). Check in and out is automatic bit there is a lovely guy in the shop beside happy to help. The only thing is that the room temperature is settled at 23/24 degrees and is not possible to correct it, really hot!!
Unfortunately not a great guest experience.
Positives first. Great central location and appears to have been recently refurbished.
It's cheap. Used as a one night stop for business and it provided the bed I needed but I did expect a little more.
The noted parking is not on site. It's behind another hotel called The George. It's close-ish but expect to haul your stuff across the road.
You'll need postcode CO1 1TD. Your map may say the access is one way, the opposite to the way you want to go, but it is two way as the other end is blocked with a bollard.
The hotel the carpark is behind is being refurbished and the surface was littered with screws. I cleared up for them, there was at least a bin.
The heating/cooling is broken. Seems to be a hotel wide issue.
The hotel is unattended. The "emergency and assistance" number goes through to the booking centre in Kings Lynn who are ill-equiped to help. However, fair play to the chap who answered as he did all he could (got confirmation the heating/cooling was broken).
The hotels.com website notes breakfast is available however it is not. It even tells you breakfast is available on the receipt you get. It really isn't.
They did message prior to arrival to let me know this, but it's a little late in the day before arrival.
The room I got was well presented but not as spacious as the photos make out.
This could be a great hotel but it needs some attention to bring it to an acceptable standard.
To finish, if you want a really good burger then Love Thy Burger is a few doors down. The Big Smoke burger is incredible, and whilst small, is perfectly prepared.
Absolutely loved it. Right in the centre of the town centre with everything there. Would 100% come back here!
As always, outstanding home away from home. All amenities short walking distance. My kinda of place.
Parking is a total pain in the backside as having to use apps and poor signal in the car park. The room is good though
The amenities are good, but there is no double glazing. Any sounds from the outside filter in. The heating is on all the time and cannot be controlled so it feels like a perpetual heating pad. But I would stay again based on the price.
Great Central location on the high Street. Electronic check in/out. Sanitizers around the lifts and main entrance. The room was great, modern decor, French doors leading out onto a balcony overlooking the high Street.
The rooms and services are on par with the Holiday inn. However location isn t the best constant noise from the street which keeps you up at night. They don t clean or change the bedding for the duration of your stay which is rather frustrating. Biggest question - would I stay there again .... NO I WOULD NOT... reasons - parking, noise and poor service.
Nice refurbished rooms with Covid rates at the mo but their new insulation means the rooms are way too hot. All windows or door to balcony open at night needed.
TV signal is poor, had 3 rooms and has been ok (not great) in one and rubbish in the other 2.
Good location, and easy, meet free check in / out.
Parking is in a car park that I wouldn't want to leave a decent car in.
