Really thorough and caring staff, looked after my daughter recently. I was very impressed.
Really thorough and caring staff, looked after my daughter recently. I was very impressed.
Took over 7 hours of waiting in an empty waiting room for them to tell me I'd have to wait a further hour for one blood test and there was absolutely no way I could find out if I left the hospital
Receptionists swearing and cackling dead loud and giving you a disgusted look when you interrupt their gossiping to ask a simple question.
The NHS is a joke
My 17 month old daughter has been emitted here on 6 occasions from February till present date. Shes been in for the same symptoms each time, a cold turning into a severe lung infection.
Shes been on Intensive care, high dependency several times on her visits. Overall the treatment and care from these 2 units have been exceptional however once she is well enough we always end up on ward75 until shes fit enough to come home. This is where the exceptional treatment ends i'm afraid.
Ward 75... where do I start, never ever been happy from our initial visits from nurses lowering the cot when my daughter stood up to see the nurse so she fell, smashing her teeth into the cot side...
Very bad attitude from nurses, standing at the counter to at least be acknowledged to be just blanked...
Constantly having to chase up nurses for my daughter needs...
However tonight was the last straw...
Having been on life support machine in intensive care for the past week my daughter had made a steady recovery and was moved from ICU to yet again ward75 at 1730..
We had to chase a nurse up at 2115 for someone to come and have a look at our daughter as we were just left in a room on our own.
We had been asked if she wanted anything to eat at about 1800... nothing came of it...
For a 17month old baby with breathing difficulties to come out of intensive care on life support to be left for for 5 hours in a room is an absolute f*cking joke !!!
No heart rate, oxygen machines were plugged in and she was really distressed with nurses to walking past....
Nurses asking myself and my partner what medication she needs.... I'm not a doctor love... and this was from the nurse who is supposedly be in charge of the ward for tonight's shift 10/05/2019
Absolutely fuming, have made logs of what's happened over previous visits, names involved and I WILL be taking this further !!!!
Excellent staff, felt very welcome, was dealt with as a human being not a statistic,
Only downside was inadequate signing, even map was unhelpful and Car Parking payment very confussing.
What an amazing job everyone here does. These guys deserve a medal for the hard work they put in. Thanks for everything you do.
This is a fantastic hospital and everyone who is seen here should feel privileged that we can have such a high tech service for free.
If anyone has a problem with the NHS should think twice about complaining and if they don't like Englands free service should then go private!
Brilliant hospital looked after my mum brilliantly over the years with her diabetes problems copd and other medical issues got lot time and respect for the staff and ambulance crews would also like to thank the staff on ward 8 for looking after doreen my mum and cousin am2
Appalling its 6weeks since my MRI, having to see if i have cancer. Still no letter no phone call. Called twice to be told by gaestro secretary its down to her not being able to understand one word on Doctors notes. This was 2 weeks ago. Hospital just ringing.
My every visit in here, be it as a guest or a patient was always as much pleasant as the conditions allowed. Very professional staff and also friendly, which is always a bonus.
Insufficient staff and (on my ward at least) very poor hygiene practices. For example, a cannula that had been in my hand for over ten days, never once had its port cleaned before use and it was used multiple times per day.
Fantastic place with excellent service qualified staff. Working best on limited resources - patience is key !
Father had heart attack was taken to the MRI acute cardiac centre.
Very friendly, helpful staff whom always kepted us all informed and up to date with what was going on.
To all the staff a very very big thank you .
Good experience, 3rd child born here, midwifes nurses couldn't do enough. Had to sell 1 of my kidneys to pay for the extortionate parking, I was so shocked I fell over, bumped my head on the ticket machine and ruptured my spleen, resulting in me having to be admitted back to a ward and inadvertently paying triple for another parking ticket!! This country!!!
My son Daniel Shaw was admitted via A & E last Friday night 20th October at approx 11-30pm with injuries due to cycle crash at the Velodrome taking part in a race. The service we received was excellent, the A & E was packed with various complaints most not serious or A & E candidates. We booked in and within 15 mins was called to Triage for assessment and moved to Resus where they found he had a broken collar bone and a collapsed lung he was admitted and kept in until Sunday morning and the treatment he received was exemplary.
Many thanks for doing a super job under such awful conditions.
My partner Ray Taylor has just spent 10 days on the orthopedic trauma ward the staff have been fantastic well done and thank you to all the team a very special thanks to Natalie and Julie for their extra special care xx
In, x rays, thumb relocated, x rays, done. In and out in 20 mins. Brilliant staff, thank you
All staff are lovely, they work so hard to provide the best care and as quickly as possible. Never able to sit down because they are always on their feet helping each person. Can't at all fault the staff they was very helpful and ensured everyone knew where they was up to.
My mam was on ward 36 renal ward staff are all very nice.and work very hard.
Worst is the A&E.just for antibiotics had to wait over 4 hours.need more doctors.
worsest hospital ewer .i was ascking for painkiler for 4 haurs and nau when am caling hospital they droping off the foun
Wait time is horrible. Staff at reception is rude. If you ask something she would reply in worst way possible.
Excellence in practice. Free for all in need. Save the NHS from privatisation!
I was admitted Sunday to a&e with server pain was rushed in to resuscitation room I was sent home in severe pain. On Monday went to so called hot clinic which want even booked. I was booked on Tuesday they forgot to order scan I was still in severe agony and had to force them to help me. I have 27 severe medical conditions I was kept in and told would have scan then home. At 4pm I was kicked out of hospital with out being seen by doctor and told I have to wait 18 weeks for scan. This I believe is they just could not be bothered treating me so I now have been told to take morphine 2 hourly what for 18 weeks total disgraceful hospital again looks like will have to go private to be treated
I was rushed into hospital last night after a bad fall what left me unconscious and with three cuts on my head, one was very large and I lost a lot of blood, I would just like to thank the ambulance staff who treated me they were fantastic, and all the staff in the hospital who scanned my head and the doctors who stitched three cuts one being very large with a lot of blood lost, and last but not least the lovely security lady who sat with me till my husband arrived, and looked after me till I got my head stitched, you all work so hard and I m eternally grateful.
So difficult to get any information. Phone lines so busy and staff so rude on the phone. The ward manager Susan Matthew's kept cutting the call and was extremely rude. So sad that the nhs is being ran by people with such low level communities skills. I understand low budgets have a knock in affect of everything on the nhs but to even get through to anyone is so difficult. And such rude manners over the phones doesnt help. So sad such a rude person is able to have such an important job.
I love NHS!! Without the NHS loads of innocent people got no one to look after...
Excellent hospital, staff work very hard - more government funding needed.
I don t normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case. Normally use private health care with which I m very happy but have to say the treatment I received here at the MRI was outstanding and I could not fault it. From appointment reminders for the procedure date through to the reception staff that l encountered all the way through to the doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff. All very professional, caring and friendly. Hospital takes cross infection control very seriously too judging by the number of times I encountered staff wiping things down etc and other patient reminder notices etc. Thank you all for the exceptional level of service and comfortable overnight stay.
I was born here alive and well i had my cord around my neck so
5 people working in the walk in centre. 1 actually working, the other 4 haven't called a single patient in the 1 and a half hours I have been here. They only seem to go from one room to another. Neither use nor bloody ornament. Be quicker to go uni and get my own medical degree and treat myself. And the place is FILTHY. December was the last time it was cleaned by the look of it.
Hart department is overwhelmed with the lack of staff & Doctors especially through the night time. But I have to say that they treated me great in the 3 months I was there. If the government would plug the hole in NHS's well needed hospitals which we the people pay with tax n national insurance payments this problem would be fixed.
Amazing place. Doctors are specialists. Very good for aspiring medical students on placement for MBChemB degree at university of Manchester.
Lovely staff working under difficult conditions - please treat them with the respect they deserve
Terrible had to wait two week for a temporary pot and the woman was rude on the phone
Fantastic staff, was in and out within 2 and a half hours with my broken wrist.
guarantee to wait hours doesn't matter what day what time you go.. shocking!!
Incredible place with incredible people.
I was rushed in by ambulance whilst having a heart attack. Everyone was incredibly supportive and helpful from the ambulance personnel to all the nurses and everyone in between, basically saving my life.
Can't believe how disappointed I and my family are having just found out that mum has been transferred to another hospital without any notification to the family.
Evening appointment for ultrasound scan in x-ray. Seen on time, all staff very helpful. Great service, thank you.
Its a teaching hospital and also a centre of excellence in some fields
I went to MRI on Monday evening as my best friend is in critical icu and it was the last time I would ever see him, I felt like I was going into panic as I walked in as I have never been on a ward like that before but the nurses on that ward need a medal that's all I can say. Not only for the job that they do but for the way that they put you at ease and care for you as well as the person who you have come to see. Without them nurses I wouldn't have said a proper goodbye to my friend as they calmed me down and helped me so much, my friends nurse was called molly and I can't remember the other girls name but they was amazing and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart, thankyou for looking after my friend til the end
Fantastic place with excellent service qualified staff. Special care new born baby
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish was seen very fast and was back home in no time
Spent 5 hours in A&E before I got seen to just for a 40 second long minor surgery stitching my finger as it woudlnt stop bleeding after 4 hours BEFORE I went there (9 hours total bleeding). Also there was a man and a toddler there just as long too no staff to ask anything as everyone too busy. Badly understaffed and many people in waiting room were big familes. No seats for actual patients. Eg 1 woman had bad ankle.. She brough her husband 5 kids, her 4 sisters and one her sisters bf and their 4 kids... Meanwhile people with head bandages had to stand as they woudlnt move and no staff to help! Also Water machines keep breaking so your forced to buy overpriced drinks in vending machines too.
Staff are amazing nothing is to much level of care is outstanding
Not a good Hospital had a op in October wasn't good care there and still have not seen a Doctor since having a new pacemaker put in can't ever get hold of any one at the hospital when you leave messages no one ever gets back to you
Go to a different A&E if you can waited hours finally gave up and walked out to go elsewhere which was faster and they didn't even bother to phone or see if I was actually alive could not care less
The kidney wards really look after me when I have a problems or at home on my machine called Doris she keeps me alive. My home team are the best if I have a problem they are always there for me thank you all so much xxxx.
Ringing to find out how my sister is who is on icu is horrendous reception put u thru to different departments or the line goes dead took me 7 attempts before i got thru this happens every time
CT Colonoscopy today. Staff absolutely brilliant, from the clinician who fitted cannula to the three wonderful clinicians who assisted with and completed my scan. Can not fault there professionalism and care. Much appreciated.
Endoscopy Brilliant aftercare terrible, had to stay overnight to have a close eye kept on me, below is a close eye!
Op completed on day ward 5.40 fab staff.
Got in room on ward AM3 5.55PM
Offered a cup T
Saline solution restarted at 6.15
Never saw anyone else till 8.40pm when nurse came in for blood pressure, went to get a cuff didn't come back until for 40 mins
Not asked if I'd had anything to eat at all (never ate for 36 hours) no water given, had to ask after 3 hours for some water
3rd saline solution finished at 8.45pm
Last saline given at 10.10pm
No one came back in till 6.15am
Had to ask for drip to be Disconnected at 8am
Name of last person and nurse still up through stay.
Could have left at 9am to give bed up, told doctor was probably in an emergency.
No rush to discharge.
Needs a team of business analyst's to review processes and procedures.
Awesome staff. Friendly, helpful on all levels. Keep up the good work
Down's syndrome patient dies after 19 days in hospital with no food - simply terrible staff!
Absolutely shocked, been sat in the walk in centre in pain from a water infection that's lasted a week now, and I've been sat for an hour and a half to find out that the lousy receptionist hadn't put me into the system. Shocking.please hire a better receptionist.
can not understand how disgusting how they treat people. they do not believe you when you say you are in pain and they stand with each other and laugh when you scream in pain
No worries about staying in this hospital. Always looked after in the right way.
went to walk in centre and the doctors was seeing 1 person every half hour, hour i was waiting 3 hours for the walk in centre there was long periods of time where the doctors wasn t seeing anyone... and seen and heard them having general conversations about after work, interrupting doctors whilst they was with patients asking if they have seen there message about after work ...when the walk in was full of people waiting
Rude receptionist in a&e. Nursing service was super.
I've been in the head and neck ward since Monday. Staff were great. Understood my disability.
Friendly staff who work hard and do their best given limited resources.
Brilliant hospital had major open heart surgery there everyone was brilliant.
Very poor ambulance service it took them over 30 min to get a distance of 5 minutes and when I was guiding them trough they were very ignorant and slow. I hope I would never need them
Never been treated so badly, tried to do the right thing by not taking up time in a&e and going to the walk in centre, but as soon as they saw what the problem was told me I needed to go to a&e. Was initially seen quite quickly by triage who didn't even look at the injury to assess it, was then left waiting for over 4 hours and when I was finally seen by the doctor made to feel like I was an inconvenience and wasting his time, openly told me he didn't want to send me to x-ray and help me and then when the results came back told me in front of everyone in reception. So much for patient confidentiality! Absolutely humiliated me and knew he was doing it! Joke of a place.
Honestly the 8 hours I got spent being thrown around A+E, Radiology and SAU weren't great but once I received a bed in the Manchester Vascular Center I couldn't of being more welcomed, both the staff and the patients were so nice and talkative, I only spent 13 hours in that department but was one of the nicest departments in a hospital I have ever been in. The actual diagnosis (which was coming from a different department) took ages and the waiting around for it was boring but the nurses and staff who accommodated my waiting were the best a real service to our NHS
Decent staff in A&E that always try their hardest, they have a walk in centre for minor stuff by the side too. Got attacked and then got stitched up here. Nurse and doctors were great.
Wrong info re: opening hours. On their website it states from 10 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. However it's actually open from 8 AM. Agree with previous comments on rude impatient staff.
Google deletes negative reviews I had to give it 2 stars so it would stick but this hospital is horrendous. I posted a long review of my experience, basically was left in the waiting room dehydrating with food poising as they had no beds (on a thursday day-not like it was a saturday night) and had to drag myself back home to survive, helped by some friends. Can't believe my taxes pay for this god awful place which can't even provide beds to seriously ill people. Thankfully I have friends who helped when they could. Cannot provide anything else google deletes long & negative reviews
Sadly my brother passed away here but it was expected due to him to far gone with the cancer but the nurses on AEU unit was excellent very caring and did there very best to make him comfortable in his last few weeks nothing was to much trouble to help him and my family while we was there.
SHOCKING care on the AEU ward. My friend was placed on an Mental Health Act Section 5.2 by the staff simply because he refused their treatment for asthma because it was making him feel sick. This has given him PTSD which he is seeking private treatment for.
An inquest today has said that Manchester Royal Infirmary's neglect in the care of Joe Ulleri was the major factor in his death. Joe was left without nutrition for 19 days. Shame on you Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Shame on the hospital management that a patient waiting a full week for a kidney scan. My mum been in this hospital for 2 weeks a full week is just waiting for kidney scan!
The doctors, nurses and other staff members are amazing and so nice but the minute we ask about this scan we get I DONT KNOW ITS DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT!
Not happy with this hospital so far. My husband transferred from a brilliant Oldham hospital to this place last night. He's not been seen by a doctor at all and not allowed his medication because nurse is not allowed to give him it until a doctor has signed for it. Totally unacceptable. He is in this hospital for an operation on his heart and this is how he's treated. This is putting more stress on his heart also he has low calcium and needs his blood checked every day to check on the levels. All that's been done is his blood pressure. I am due to go this afternoon I hope they will have some explanation as to why this is acceptable.
just been visiting my mother who has been in the royal for a month a couple of days ago a new lady was put in the bed next to her she is a assian .at visiting time she has about 5/7 visitors around her bed the noise is just out of order .tonight the assian lady had two visitors but at 8pm the end of visiting another 5 visitors walked in and sat around her bed .at 5 minutes past 8pm i was told visiting was over but not a word said to the assian visitors . doese this country now let these imigrants just say and do what they want .i will be putting a compliant in call it what you want but i call it discrimanation /racism /favourtism
Takes ages for doctors to come an see you. I was told the only toilet was in main waiting area which I couldn't use due to my anxiety"!! Refreshments were too dear
