This is a nice clean hotel but is a little "out if the way". It is a 1/2 mile walk to get to the ferry to go downtown. There are a few restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Couldn't be better
Wonderfully enjoyable hotel. Nice, clean, quiet and cheerful room (we asked in advance for a quiet room away from the street and they did it). Cleaned it every day and replaced every bathroom items. Temperature controlled by us and great flat tv (relatively big with dvd and usb drive support). The staff is excellent. Friendly, helpful and polite. They managed to arrange everything we needed. We booked the breakfast along with the room, so we got the best price (joined the free NH Rewards program and got extra 5% discount on the pack), and it was really worth it. Quality and variety of food...fantastic! The shuttle was very effective and it was like being at the city center. The tunnel was on maintenance, so it couldn't go to the other side of the river (don't confuse river with canal) but it left us at the Ferry, wich departed every 6 minutes during the day and 12 during the night for a 5 minute trip to the back of Central Station. We'll definitely stay there again.

Great hotel, comfortable rooms. North of the river doesn't matter as the hotel runs a shuttle to one of its sister hotels by Centraal station.

I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. It was close to work and a colleague had also been staying there and had a positive experience.
The one minor thing I did not enjoy, was that the bathroom floor did not have any heating.
The hotel staff always seemed positive and helpful.
I will be staying in this hotel in the future when going back for work.

Hotel staff is friendly and always willing to help. Nice location and very clean. The bar and restaurant staff are also very friendly.

It is modern, safe (security guards at the entrance, you can not access the rooms without the card), the reception staff as the dining room very friendly, breakfast very varied, spacious room, very comfortable bed, have their own parking if you go with vehicle, with respect to the location ... it is far from the center, but they have 2 free minibuses that go around the hotel and the central station that is at the beginning of the Amsterdam canals !!!

Foyer is beautiful the rest of the hotel needs redecoration - step at bottom of stairs has crumbling at Edge - lift full of bag scuffs - waited for an hour to get an extra blanket - 2 radiators in room 1 not working - rooms were cold on arrival- not usual standard of NHS hotel - very disappointed

I don't understand the concept of having the toilet apart from the rest of the bathroom... leaving with your hands dirty to wash them somewhere else... makes no sense to me. It would be fine if there was a sink and a toilet... not just a toilet.

We had a very enjoyable stay here for eight nights. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. There is a gym on site providing towels and water, as well as a cafe and bar. Housekeeping were great, especially Roos (Rose) who looked after us and gave us extra coffee for the machine in our room - we drink a lot of coffee! We didn't use the shuttle bus as we like to walk but it seemed very regular. The hotel is also close by the supermarkets and a few restaurants and we liked being this side of the river. Would happily stay again.

This was a very positive experience. From the minute I arrived the staff could not have been nicer. There was a young receptionist on the night shift who was helpful, friendly and professional. He is an asset to the hotel. in saying that every member of staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I guess to name a few, Peter the security guard the gentleman that delivered breakfast to my room, the lady cleaning rooms that I needed assistance from etc. The room was bright and spacious and very comfortable. My only issue which the duty manager did try to rectify was the noise in the hotel. It is like you can hear the 'workings' or the hotel. Fine during the day but at nighttime when all was quiet, trying to sleep for me it was a problem. I hardly slept the first night but the next 2 nights were better with earplugs. The breakfasts were really lovely and fresh with lots of options. So if you are not a light sleeper I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice enough place. However they let me down badly this morning. The reception person told me to wait in reception for the shuttle bus to the centre as I needed to get a train to the airport. I'd broken my glasses and asked her to tell me when the bus came.
So she didn't and I missed the bus and had to pay for a taxi in order not to be late for my flight. Bit of a fail really.

Not the cleanest hotel/ hotel rooms. The room it self is very plain and some of the room's bathrooms are extremely small and smelly... The location is not great, but hotel does offer a van service to town. Front lobby is pretty boring. Staffs can be very stern. Better pay more to be in downtown than at this drabby, not so clean hotel.

The bicycles available to guests are comfortable and easy to use. Plenty of bike paths in the area.

Nice location in the old north with a lot of history

Staff is wonderful. Upgrades are obvious! Loved my stay. Van service is an added plus. Will be back. Location is awesome too.

Good but stayed 6 days and therefore 5 nights and the cleaning of the room leaves much to be desired! I was complaining, I was told that they were going to iron but they just remove the crumbs and do not clean the bottom and bathroom either! Disappointed because very nice hotel.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are a mixed bag... Some are small and some are big. The bed is hard and the pillows are not soft. Located in a residential area, but easy transport to the centrum area. Lots of airline crew stay here.

difficult to reach with a gate, parking costs 9.50. and if you want to book online you must have a credit card, you then call for the reservation you are 20 euros more expensive. price card of the food was not correct, it seems that pilots get a 25% discount, so as a normal Dutchman you pay way too much. a really awful hotel. I recommend the bastion hotel. they just don't have these antics !!

It is not very central but it has a free van that takes you to the center. The kind and attentive service. Large and comfortable rooms with good bathroom. Very good breakfast I would definitely go back

It is quite old and out of the way - nothing like the Krasnopolsky property.

Very friendly staff, especially Fr Raabia (I hope it was spelled right.) Very friendly. Super sympathetic without being exposed.

Hotel is well located. Room on the 5th floor is very quiet. Facilities are good, cleanliness is good.

Very good is the free shuttle service to the city center (every 20 minutes). It is not better.

Good NH hotel is located north of Amsterdam, has comfortable and spacious rooms, good breakfast, mostly salt, it also provides a free shuttle service to the central station from 9 to 24, free parking.

Clean, good staff, close to transportation for the city

This is a really great hotel. It is in a great location near shopping, restaurants and on Wednesdays there is an outdoor market across the street. The hotel has a nice bar and a nice sandwich place inside.

Mostly clean and quiet. A predictable stay in an increasingly good location. Walkable to canal ferries and public transit. Plenty of markets and food options close by.

Rooms are clean, no outlet in the bathroom for hair appliances so you have to use an inconvenient one in the room which is not near a mirror. The check-in staff are not very cordial, no warm greeting, smiles or friendliness. They treat guests as through we are an inconvenience for them...
How about training them some hospitality. A nice greeting upon Check-in such as: "Hello and welcome to our hotel!" Or, "very nice to see you again, we're here to help if needed!"

Comfortable, quiet hotel. Rooms are clean and modern, with good free wifi.
A little out of the way from the city centre and cheaper for it, but that doesn't matter. The hotel runs a free shuttle to its sister hotel near Centraal station. Either that or it's a 12min walk to the 24hr ferry across the river, also to Centraal station.
It seems to be where Delta Airlines crew stay when they're in the city, so it's a good sign.

The service here was excellent! The staff is incredibly friendly and they have a shuttle to and from Amsterdam Central Station 24/7. The room was plush with a king sized bed and fast WiFi. The halls seem to be a little dated, room signs are falling down, but that doesn't bother me at all. One slight mishap was that the cleaners entered the room in the morning while we were getting dressed.. knock first, or wait until after the check out time!

One can reach the city central fast, the rooms were clean and modern.The service was friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel which goes to the central.

A very nice hotel. We got a Christmas dinner buffet for 20 euros, which was great. It's also in a great location with a nice room set up. Would stay again.

Nothing special about this hotel. Standard for NH hotel chain. Interior are very old school and atmosphere isn t great. Good location to visit north or North Holland. Less if you want to visit the whole city

Good place to stay when you want to be a little away from the downtown rush. It has a free shuttle service to the city center (their same hotel close to the train station). But a little uncomfortable getting in and off premises due to door gate at the parking lot.

Great hotel. Gladly again. The shuttle bus to the main train station is super practical for shopping and other activities. Monitored parking lot directly at the hotel.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast and the rooms are great. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have such a cozy atmosphere. Probably because it used to be a hospital. Otherwise, but great. Also location and price completely okay. We were with two children (5 and 9), who felt very welcome.

Not very hospitable. Clearly not focused on a business appointment with your guests. English, plenty of security ((they were friendly). Furthermore, you feel like you're not really welcome.

Great hotel staff. There are so many different room types, you'll never get the same type with every visit. Walking distance to the ferry to Central Station.

Very pleased with our stay here. Very clean modern rooms and staff were all helpful and friendly. The best part was free transport to and from the city centre which was always avalaible. If I ever come back to Amsterdam I will be staying here again :)

Wow! Great, friendly staff, accommodating. Beautiful comfy rooms. Food is tasty, happy hour and shuttle service are wonderful

I do not recommend staying in it, it's dismal and its place as well, strict management and many gates, because of the airlines there, more than 3 security gates until you reach your room and all have to speak reception to allow you to enter, the Netherlands does not need all this security.

At this time, the main terminal was closed due to construction. Otherwise super nice reception, rooms were okay. Priced after yes.

Great hotel friendly staff and nice room with a good mattress

Stayed here lots! To be honest, a bit hit and miss. Location is fab, but beds can be rubbish. Had an expensive superior room overlooking the water and the bed was so uncomfortable, it was like the previous guests were in fact elephants that never got out of bed

Very quiet area within a quick walking/free ferry distance to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Noord is extremely picturesque fairy tale like city with a fun Wednesday street market. Staff is very friendly and helpful, room was clean and very modern. I would remove the green TV wall mount contraption as it eats into walking space but that's the only negative thing I can think of. Would highly recommend this place to others.
