Nexus Resort Karambunai Review

The place was okay in my opinion. The food was okay. The beach was okay but you should expect to see some rubbish at the beach, the sand was white tho. The waves was quite large (around a metre tall). The room was okay. The hall was okay. To say it's a luxurious place is an overstatement although the fee to stay was quite expensive (for me lah). Expect to see some wild creatures there (monitor lizards, hornbills, squirrels, & monkeys).

The room condition is a little lacking, but the surrounding scenery is excellent.

A good resort with really spacious rooms. Ours was Borneo Garden Deluxe King Size bedroom. There was a lot of free space for our two daughters to run jump and have fun. Bathroom was comfy and spacious too with a big bathtub and separate shower cabin. Room had a fruit welcome plate and a complimentary welcome drink coupon was given for all of us which we used the next day. Everything has a lot of space. Swimming pool is simply good and all kids were having fun and I saw families hanging out at the swimming pool for the whole day. Food at Kingfisher restaurant was okay with loads of food varieties and free-flow beer.
Other restaurants (total 8) were good and this resort is like a mini city with everything available within the resort. There is a Lizard Monitor also in the pond which was a good attraction for our girls. Overall a good resort but so far away from the airport. There was a huge traffic jam in the afternoon from airport to hotel and it took us 2.5 hours in taxi to reach resort. That was frustrating. Taxi driver said that is a daily affair during office hour. Other side of the traffic was fine.
Resort itself is just nice and a good place for a family relaxation place.

There is a swimming pool which is safe for children.

The equipment is old and damaged, the service speed is slow, many rooms have bad air conditioning and the toilet water pressure is insufficient, and the buffet restaurant has no air conditioning.

I went there with the promotion and booked 3 rooms, it was cheap and worth the price.

The place is nostalgic to me since i've been going here since 2008. One thing that is still why I love the resort, it's the people, they are so nice and helpful which made my stay fun!

10/10 would go there again just for the staff.

Beautiful resort that comes with an excellent sunset view.

Poor maintenance. Stayed for 2 nites. Room was changed 3 times. First due to bad smell in the room. Second due to leaking from the room ceiling. Third aircon not working. Why are the defects not noticed by staff? Checking in the rooms were also delayed

Went to Noble Place fro Dimsum Buffet. Staff superb friendly, I mean all. Food and environment are superb clean. Definitely will visit again!

The customer service is good and the care is done.

Beautiful beach & view. But hotel is quite old and not newly renovated.. Had a bad stay as they did some repair doing drilling..very noisy.. Requested to change room, and thankfully they obey customer demand. Changed to a room which is quite far as long as it is quiet..

Excellent place with a beach to stay calm. To have a good rest. The resort have spa, gym, sauna, may restaurants with different verity of foods. Only demerit is this resort is a little away from the town. They have tour desk which can help you to assist you to get good packages to visit place and do water sports.

The staff here are top notch, great service and super courteous.

The scenery and accommodation are great, the price is not cheap

1. The room is large
2.wifi is slower
3. Selling Pizza on the beach is very good
4. Buffet is not good
5. Access to uber is more convenient

I wonder if I was in hell hotel tv series. The pool villa is so run down, broken wooden floor, broken chair, pool with missing tiles, unknown green cloud in the pool, wall that s falling apart, spider hanging to the pillow, trash of exploded balloon from god know when, disgusting toilet seat, molded wall. The worst of all there s a big cockroach in the living room, I have to worry if cockroach going to crawl out from the bed. See it yourselves from the pictures. The only good part is it s facing the beach other than that it s nightmare. Oh by the way service sucks too, there was no electricity for about 1-2 hours, and the lady at check-in counter ask us to look for our room by our own without clear instructions.

Some of the hotel's houses just happened to be renovated, noisy, the surrounding environment is good, the house is big enough and comfortable, the terrace can see the beautiful beach sea view, it is worth living, but the mosquitoes are a bit more

Resort 30 min from Kota Kinabalu. The resort got one of the best beaches close to Kota Kinabalu. Big pool area. Kids club and many activities at the resort. Several food outlets at the resort. Stunning sunsets.

Far from KK City takes 30 minutes to get there, Nearest Shopping mall 1Borneo hypermall. Beautiful beaches and have good facilities provided.

Beautiful beach, beautiful scenery, nice resort hotel, just the lobby is a bit old, so if the requirements are not so high, it is a good resort hotel

It's an old resort, but if you do not have a map, you'll be lost.

Spent 500ringit at the golf club another 400 at the their spa. When I went to have a look at the beach the managers asked me to be removed by security as I was not staying at the hotel.

Appreciate exclusivity, at hotels, but are beaches not public in Malaysia?

Facilities old, breakfast so so, but wide and beautiful landscape very good. Front sea is good for swimming.

The scenery in the resort is great. However, there is a lot of distance from the city, so if you want to be able to see the city in a short time, there is a sense of ambiguity .. I manage the place where the water raft is located next. I wrote it out, but I could make a reservation here), good! There are not many people, you can play very funny half a day.

The Chinese restaurant was exceptionally good. We ate in the evening and had lunch time dim sung,both were really good and service is second to none

Last time i went here, going to play golf with friends and walk around during sunset. Nice beach view.

Perfect place to escape the city with a beautiful beach, spacious rooms and bathroom, good buffet breakfast. There are activities lined up for guests of all ages and different adventurous spirits. Swimming pools also cater for those with varying water confidence. They had staff who made available water guns and water balloons when we were there. Poolside towels were also provided for convenience of swimmers. Some may not know there is a comfortable recreation room with beanbags, PlayStations, carrom, games and books. The marine conservation centre housed many beautiful fish etc which was therapeutic and educational. After that, we hopped into the spa beside for a relaxing massage. Overall a nice holiday resort with welcoming staff!

A nice view also you can see a group of monkey at padang golf.

The nexus is the best place to go for a vacation. I really enjoyed it all. I was better than Kayana Marine. If you are looking for a relaxing break in the Nexus

this resort has spacious rooms with almost complete amenities. we were sent to our rooms by buggy due to rain and our room is a bit further from the lobby. my children enjoyed swimming in the clean pool and clean playground. variety of tasty food served during buffet breakfast. I would love to come here again and spend at least 2 nights to fully enjoy their resort.

The largest resort in Kota Kinabalu. Golf rounds are available, along the beach. There is a lot of lodging, so if you stay at a non-remodeled building, you may feel a bit outdated. There is a distance from the city and you have to take a shuttle bus from the lobby. (There are several restaurants, the breakfast room is the best, the rest is not so ...)

Booked 3 rooms, waited till 3pm for 2 rooms. Rooms were not ready, no towels, no toothbrush. Dinner was major disappointment. All 2 restaurant was open, 1only avail for take away. Another was buffet, food was terrible for rm138/person although was 50% discount for in house guest. Breakfast was canteen like, not enuf seats to cope with amount og guests. Can understand it is the rmco period, still it was a good oppurnity for the resort to gain confidence of customers.

Nice place to stay and relax with friendly and polite staff.

Many facilities in the resort but all at their own expense
The outdoor spa is relaxing but has fleas.
It s hard to be beaten by a flea after returning home.

As a resort in this famous travel location, Nexus Resort & Spa in Karambunai just average, not the best resort in the area, only provide average service quality and facilities.
Facilities here are aged, although most are working correctly, but they are not in their best condition.
And the service here is not good, come here early, but strictly no early check-in from the reception. And during the check-in process, the receptionist didn't introduce any facilities or activities provided by the resort. After all, this is not just a hotel, it's a resort for leisure, a briefing on facilities is reasonable here.
Their WiFi is not able to connect, but lucky 4G still covered in here
But the beach here is excellent, the beach is long, and water is clear during good weather. And resort location is far from city, so you can enjoy a relaxing environment where away from people

best ever pool for kids to swim its so spacious , and less depth fun to enjoy with your family here especially place are available with local discounted price , do i have complain are only bed sheet are smaller than there ahould have and parkinh are too dark at midnight i almost fall due to slippery wet surfaces that i didnt enough clearly saw. Please do provide extra light at parking lot for our safety .

The best place to get out from city's life since it is at the end of the map. But one that Ng you MUST know that always keep mosquito/sandflies repellent!!!I love the beach and sea but I just couldn't stand from being bitten by the sandflies. Me and my 3 children got many red spots and the itchy was terrified!

Large and pictures property with brilliant views of the beach and nature. Infrastructure such as access road and some rooms require upgrading. Many facilities provided. Staff are very accommodating. 45 minutes journey to KKIA airport.

The downside is that it is about 40 minutes away from downtown
