Nexus Resort Karambunai Review

nice resort with amazing view. nice spa too. but limited breakfast seat. have to wait to go into the restaurant.

Definitely not a 5* resort due to the aged rooms but:
1. It's really clean
2. The staff are very helpful
3. Resort facilities are amazing
4. Location just nice; away from the hustle and bustle of town but not too far
Only negative thing was that we had to queue for 15-20 mins for bfast coz they didnt open the other cafe and it was peak season so naturally there was very long queue at only 1 cafe with limited seats. Then again, #2. :)

It was a little annoying to go to the hostel because it was at the end of the building.

Great place for a weekend to rest and relax. Nice beach and pool. Dinner buffet is ok with reasonable selection and has some local traditional natives dance performance included. Lazy away the weekend here and go back refresh

Nice hotel and view. Food is awesome. Suitable for family and for honeymoon.

Peaceful and Calm Place with a great view of the Sea.. It ticks all the boxes for a perfect weekend gateway for anyone in Kota Kinbalu.

The original environment is very beautiful, the equipment is slightly old, and the service is casual.

Room was really spacious same goes to bathroom. Providing all room amenities such as iron & iron board. Staff was friendly. Buffet breakfast lunch dinner n BBQ just okay nothing special compared to the how awesome the resort was.

place is huge u need a buggy to go to yr room from lobby which is complimentary but u'll need to walk yr way around at some point u'll believe me how huge the place is. look quite old but still nice and enjoyable, gotta try cycling, kayak, and the sea is very nice and superr clean! the 30min boatride is kinda scam luckily its in my package so i dont have to pay. still recomended!

Stayed in this resort for 2 nights. We were "upgraded" to a "better" room (room number 711*). Little did we know this was actually a down grade. In the toilet, our sink was cracked in half, the seal for the bath tub was not working well so it took atleast half an hour to fill the bath tub with a side of ALOT of waste in water and the shower head for the bath tub wasn't even working. There was heavy rain during the second day of our stay, they did provide umbrellas but there was no proper walk path to our "upgraded" room. We had to walk through mud to get into our room. That's just the room side of things. We paid full price but alot of the facilities are out of order such as the asthe sauna, the spa and the Jacuzzi. The hotel's pool did have a sort of Jacuzzi but parts of the water was yellowish green which made it look like someone decided to urinate in it. The slides by the pool are both out of order, peeling off pieces of the slides into the pool. Let's just say the facilities aren't top notch. When we went to have dinner in The Penyu restaurant, I ordered a nasi goreng/fried rice and to my surprise, I found a plastic or a kind of rubber in my egg. I have previously stayed in this resort a few years back, everything about this resort has fallen with the only exception being the service. The customer service is the only thing that is top notch. 5 star resort? What a joke.

The vast and long private beach is beautiful, and you can enjoy the nature of Borneo in the site where wild lizards and lizards live. There are about 5 restaurants, and there are good restaurants and bars that are reasonable at night. We can enjoy pool enough. The difficulty is that the room is getting old, the shower and the toilet flow, and the bed making is not good enough. There are no food and drink places around the hotel, but it is convenient because there is a supermarket-like store in the hotel.

The architectural style is full of local colors, the garden design of birds and flowers, and the invincible beach seascape.

Station, the only disadvantage of 1 is that the aunt is too much.

It's a good idea to have a beautiful environment just to make a puff wash

Nice place.. But going there at night is kinda eerie due to less street lights there.

The resort is very big, the tenants are many, except the check-out speed is very slow, slow and slow, others are good.

Beautiful resort with golf. To see for a moment of relaxation. Great time.

We got an upgrade to room 8507 which is on the 5th floor. I would recommend this to you. Rooms are super furnished in this newly renovated part!
If you want to eat a Malaysian, just go to Penuyen Restaurant and ask for Saifol Bahri. He then cooks a special menu, great food. Otherwise the food is good. The complex is located in a bay with a private beach surrounded by jungle.
Otherwise there are many Asian package holidaymakers here, but they hardly ever go into the sea, so 6 km of beach for me ;-).
You should have breakfast in the Olives.

The resort itself is a natural park. The larger the car, the more you go to your room. Do not leave the balcony door open in your room. The monkey takes valuables. There are many plants, birds, lizards and so on. You can feel the feeling of Southeast Asia full. Facilities (exterior, accessories such as inside storage) are felt, but not at all uncomfortable with nature. There is a private beach and you can enjoy the wonderful scenery when you go out at sunrise. And while listening to the birds watching the scenery while walking in the morning, I really like healing! I did not use the pool, but it was smaller than I thought. Breakfast was also fresh and the welcome drink was not checked in at night so I could check out and write it.

Nice resort , amazing beach with lovely sand . Hotel is good but not 5 star as it claims to be, needs to work on small things and attention to detail to be truly 5 star.

This resort was extremely disappointing, it is run down and in need of a major renovation. The walkways are filled with chipped tiles and the stair treads are cracked, endangering anyone who walks on them. Our room curtains had black mould growing on them to the point I questioned if it was a pattern. After our room change it was evident the growth had commenced on those curtains also. The resort is remote, with a couple of villages near by with great food. However the resort does not allow external taxis, so you are forced to book their taxis at an extremely elevated price which change day to day depending upon the concierge on duty. The kids club is advertised as included but that is misleading. It runs in sessions, where probably 20% are included and the rest are charged for by the hour. There is a lot of waiting at this resort, for food, drinks, reception, flat door batteries etc. They simply do not have enough staff to cater for guest numbers. They charge for everything. Even standard things that other hotels just replace like a simple lost door card. When you book a family room, it does not necessarily mean you will receive beds for your entire family. You are forced to pay for an extra bed/s on arrival. When you question this, the staff only apologise but charge you the rate anyway. They also do not provide a water refill station, which forces you to continue to buy plastic bottled water. The beach is beautiful, and that is the reason for two stars. However take a walk beyond the resort boundaries, the beach is covered in plastic rubbish. Based on the rates charged, there is a certain level of expectation that accompanies that. Nexus Resort does NOT meet that expectation. Stay somewhere else.

AMAZING HOTEL! The rooms are huge and the staff are super accommodating. Great facilities! The beach should be better maintained. and it's so far from local civilisation you are limited to eat the hotel restaurant food which can be limiting if your a vegetarian and the extortionate hotel prices. Taxi into town can be extortionate but there's a shuttle bus that goes to the local town every day so it's worth going into town and eating the real local and super cheap food.

One of the most beautiful place in KK, u should go there, the beach is gorgeous very clean water and sand. And the food is perfect at a fair price

Nice beach for watching sunset. For people who are not staying at the resort can also visit the beach via a side lane. We got to watch beautiful sunset from here.

Such a wonderful place to hang out with friends and families, superb facilities with several restaurants, the Club Nexus, the spa and gym was great as well as the beach.. wide variety of foods and drinks.. excellent place for beach wedding..

It's a very nice hotel but lack of maintenance.

Transportation problems because control by legal taxis drivers. Those drivers are bad. Some got Grab taxi. Usually they will requested hotel guess to cancelled Grabcar. Forced hotel guess to take their taxis.

Not recommended to stay at this hotel.

As a grabcar driver. While I try to wait there for trips back KK city center, I was given WARNING by Security Guard. "No waiting..... This hotel only for registered Taxi". And they charged extraordinary Fares. Example: RM50 to Indah Permai KFC.

Recommended: stay only with your own transports

Structure very clean welcoming staff and kind breakfast abundant and excellent very valid the various restaurant of the resort excellent room cleaning I highly recommend it for a holiday in total relaxation!

This morning I went to Nexus Resort with my kids for a tour of golf and golf. The seaside scenery is beautiful and the beach and sand are clean, but the sprinkle shop is old! Seems like Zhuang Xiu hasn't seen it in a long time.

Hotel looks good, need more promos on rooms, staff is good but road around hotel area need fixing..

no trolley for bags, stupid bellboy and when i'm asking for face mask, they didnt provide for guest!!!

stayed at 2bedrooms villa. nice villa with private swimming pool & beautiful beach very close by. no eatery nearby though. aircond leaked & televisyen no display. maintenance guy didnt know how to fix the tv. fixed only after 2hours struggling & another staff came to help the maintenance guy

The place have pretty beach and the service there are very great

I heard that there is a Gangster of Grab Driver or the Security over there which is the management of Nexus doesn't care about the security of their customer even for the public society. Should i be worried about the situation? I've seen the video threatening violence.

The resort village has a long beach, the environment is very laid-back grass Pierre is very clean, but the bathroom drainage system is very poor, the shower will accumulate water, overall it is very suitable for more than 2 days of vacation, compared to the city remote.
