Newbury Comics Review

One of the best places for new vinyl in the city. Large selection in the basement that maintains a fantastic balance of reissues of the classics and new pressings of fresh music. Collection changes frequently too, so it's definitely worth a revisit if you initially didn't find what you were after.

Hey, retailers bemoaning the existence of the Internet, get over yourselves and get to Newbury Comics. Toy stores, music stores, and comic book shops can't stay in business anywhere, yet Newbury is all 3 and killing it. How? By selling stuff that people actually want to buy, and having a nerdy staff capable of talking about anything from Japanese manga to classical music. Anytime I find myself needing to kill time, I wander in and browse the whimsical / wacky / nerdy toys, kitsch and games. I almost always walk out with something I didn't need or even knew existed, but it adds much happiness to my life. Do you know what a domo-kun is? If so, you need Newbury Comics in your life

This place is amazing. The staff are very helpful and there is something for everyone here. I have been here every time I visit Boston.

Always that go for a walk, I go to this store. They always have some good discounts. I love that they are involved a little bit more in Japanese comics ;) definetly is a nice place to go.

This shop consists of Clothing, comics, records, and souvenirs with your favorite characters. Friendly staff. Affordable price.

At this particular Newbury Comics, I find that the vinyl selection is superb in quality, quantity, and choice. Aside from a vast collection of music, the store also boasts a large selection of DVD's including some rare independent films. I often come to this Newbury Comics every time I am in the Back Bay area.

Literally impossible to walk in this store and not buy something. Funko pop, posters, and vinyls galore! They seem to have a merch section for almost every major fandom.

I am from out of town and this place is great. They have tons of music options, clothes, toys and modern comics. One of the best deals is similar bundles of comics over the past year. Every staff member is helpful and I had to try not to spend too much. I ll be back if I am in Boston again!

I'm a big fan of this store. Always make a visit when I'm in the area. Their selection is great and the friendliness and help from the staff makes up for the overcrowded space. (note: I bought my first 'new' album from this store)

Brilliant store with something for everyone!! Great range of products an sale in a well designed and laid out store. You could spend a long time here just browsing the merchandise.

Perfect place for a comic book, TV show or music lover. I love Game of Thrones and they had so much of it. Also bought their pizza socks. Love them!

Cool store that sells vinyl, CDs, movies, and general geek/anime/gaming/comic merchandise. They sell comics too, but due to their jack of all trades nature the selection is much smaller than a standard comic book store. Nonetheless the prices aren't too crazy and they have deals on Top 40 Vinyl+CDs which often have some awesome prices. Worth checking out at least once

Cool place, it has 3 floors so you can get a lot of fun stuff. I was lucky and found Spiderman looking for comics haha

while it has comics in the name every time i go there seems to be less and less comics and just more archie mcphee kind of stuff

This was the original geek store. it's been around since long before that was a cool thing to be. And they've evolved with the culture.

The setup of each one is very good and It is easy to find what you are looking for.
Every staff member is really nice and seems to like their jobs. The merchandise is frequently changed so nothing is boring about the store.

The original Newbury Comics! There's 3 floors worth of stuff to look at and I think they carry a little more of their stuff because of that. Worth a visit for the novelty of it alone.

One of my favorite places to go for comics, posters, and music! The staff's really nice and knowledgable and very helpful! It's a great place to find fun gifts for friends and cool knick knacks. It's a big location, so there's always new stuff coming in and lots to look at. Overall, an awesome place!

Very good selection of everything a geek needs, but if you're looking for chase Pop! figures, don't come by here. The store puts them aside and upsells them.

What an awesome store tons of awesomeness i would drive the 30 min into Boston to go there again. They have so much cool stuff all under one roof. The amount of game of thrones stuff was awesome!!!

I always try to make time to stop here when visiting Boston. It has such a great, eclectic selection of all things nerdy, and the goods change every time I visit.

You would think with the name 'Newbury Comics' that this would have more than a 6' x 6' section of back issues. This place is a glorified Spencer's gift store.
