Overrated hotel which has no idea what good service is and is NOT WEDDING FRIENDLY - stayed here with my now-husband for our wedding in New York and everything about the Lotte (barring Mike working on the bell desk) was a totally subpar experience.

We booked directly and let them know in advance we were staying for our wedding. From the moment we arrived it was underwhelming...we accidentally came in through the side door rather than the front. Had to lug bags down the main lobby stairs with no offer of help from any of the porters. After a long queue to check in, a surly faced bloke asked us if we wanted to pay for an upgrade which we politely declined. So far, not so special. I needed to borrow a pair of scissors to trim the end of a ribbon which was to be used in the ceremony. I asked if I could borrow a pair from reception and was told "we don't do that - the gift shop may have some." Speak to the gift shop and am told very pretentiously I can buy a pair for $15. *eye roll - really?! The following day we head off out for the day and return to find our room has not been cleaned for unknown reasons. Privacy was not on in the room, and we have to call down to get it cleaned. Not what you expect from a hotel of this supposed calibre. Not to mention the yellow-stained bath tub and old-fashioned interior which was looking a little worn.

Prior to arriving at the hotel I had also emailed Lily Cohen (whose contact details were listed on the website) to request we could take some photos inside the hotel - the entire reason we chose the hotel as the lobby staircase is beautiful. We had planned 15 minutes of indoor photos as our ceremony was taking place in central park and we knew the weather would be cold so wanted some shots of me in my dress without my coat. I never received a reply so once in the hotel we asked to speak to her at the front reception desk. I was told she wasn't available and it was Daniel Nelson handling any wedding related inquiries we should speak to. We were told he would call us back that morning and left our number. Morning came and went with no call. Eventually I got an email late afternoon saying the hotel has a strict no photo policy particularly at xmas as the hotel is extra busy with tourists coming to view the xmas decorations (and most taking photos of themselves with them!) He said if I sent my confirmation number he would look into whether they could upgrade us to a private suite where we could take photos. I sent the confirmation number and receive no further reply. I reply later on that evening saying if we can even use a meeting room or some other non public space for 15-20minutes that's all we were hoping. NO REPLY. Fair enough we should have checked that prior to booking but the way this was handled was just poor. Thankfully our photographer was great and completely worked around this, but to find that out the day before your wedding is pretty stressful. We simply cannot recommend you staying here if you are coming to the city to get married.

The morning of the wedding we had booked a table in Villard, the hotel's breakfast restaurant which again has a beautiful interior. I had put a note on the booking that this was for our wedding breakfast, and we ordered two glasses of champagne. We were told sorry but someone else has the keys to the drinks cupboard so it will take a moment to get the champagne. Half way through the meal we are told sorry they cannot bring any champagne. I mean honestly, what a total let down. The irony is the wall of champagne behind the restaurant entrance. Whilst the food was nice, it was definitely an underwhelming experience, and we paid a small fortune for some tiny glasses of orange juice which weren't even freshly squeezed. All in all I just would not bother coming back to this mediocre experience. My partner and I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and this is by far the worst service we have ever received. Luckily our reception dinner at Nobu was the total opposite and made us feel extra special. Perhaps Lotte could take a leaf out of their book.

We recently stayed at the towers at lotte and we were nothing but amazed by the great experience we had during our stay. Clare Law was one of the staff members that just made us feel warm and special every time we arrived and departed the towers. She is very passionate about what she does and just made our experience...

The name of the hotel perfectly explains the hotel's service: it is like a royal treatment. Special thanks to Gavin and her team for their meticulous care and our stay. From the doorman, the concierge to every employee at the front desk, they will give special care to each guest.

The hotel is well located and well-appointed, but the staff is inept. They were confused from the start about my reservation. My room was not ready when I arrived, which was no problem, except that they promised a call when it was ready and the call never came. It just happened to be ready when I asked hours later. Since the hotel restaurant has limited hours, the staff touts 24 hour room service. Keep in mind that you'll have to call twice for any such order because the orders seem to get lost somewhere between the front desk and the kitchen. Upon checkout, the bill was wrong as well.

The Palace is an elegant property in midtown with a historic mansion full of suites plus the tower to get up to over 900 room. They ve started to have entertainment in their courtyard and walkup bar service. Go grab a drink their one afternoon on a Thursday or Friday while it s still nice out.

I stayed in room 1006
Feb 22-24, 2019 and found the hotel charming and the service immaculate. I especially want to compliment William of the bell desk who accommodated me with a wheelchair for my stay and Edmark the doorman who ably assisted me in and out of vehicles. We were there for a family wedding and you added to our enjoyment of this family occasion. Thank you!!

A great location. The views were amazing, the room large and very clean, the staff was truly top notch, professional, and polite (from the Bellman to the Concierge to Housekeeping to Maintenance - the TV went out during a storm).
An exceptional experience!

We stayed at this hotel before our cruise. We love this hotel - it is right in the city centre and you can walk to Old San Juan and cruise from this location. This boutique hotel is like a - I like the decoration here. We don't like to live in a chain hotel. We like the cultural expression of the hotel! We must go to the bathtub "cialis" on the roof!

This hotel really is as good as it gets! We loved our 3 night stay here. The staff was amazing! At check in, the lady who helped us was super attentive. I didn't realize she was completely paying attention to my 16 year old bubbling over with excitement that we were there to spend a long weekend to celebrate both her Sweet 16 and her Dad's birthdays. When we arrived to our room, she sent up an adorable stuffed bear, macaroons from the bakery for my daughter and a bottle of wine for my husband! We were so impressed! The room was lovely. The location is great! Our stay could not have been any more perfect! Thank you so much. I hope we can return someday.

Formerly the Helmsley New York Palace, now taken on by the Lotte hotel chain now reflects a streamlined Asian look in the main corridors, the Lobby Lounge has a cozy feel and there is a small shop selling food and coffee across.

Great location, superb foyer and lovely concierge staff who were welcoming and helpful. Decor of room was dated and the two double beds were small (we stayed as a family of four). There are plenty of good places to eat out around and about. We had a good view of the Waldorf Towers which is currently under construction. Be careful if ordering an Uber, the address is not listed correctly apparently. Ask the door staff for the address (sorry forgotten now). We actually hailed a yellow cab, there were a few outside waiting and we managed to get a large Toyota Sienna which took our four large bags and the four of us.
