Our daughter has been attending NLA for ten years, and we are so thankful for this school. The staff and teachers are wonderful and caring, and we feel very safe and secure with our daughter being at this great school.

New Life Academy is an excellent school. We have had one child graduate from NLA and two high school children who have attended NLA since pre-school. In our experience, our children have not only been challenged academically, they have also been challeged to grow spritiually. Academically, our high schoolers have had amazing opprotunities to take advanced AP courses from outstanding faculty. With smaller class sizes, debating, writing and problem solving are very hands on, with the teachers actively involved. The teachers know our children, their strengths and their areas of growth opprotunities. We could not be more thankful for the education our children have received.

All reviews are valid points from a persons experience.
Clearly there are individuals who have high regard for NLA. They must have had tremendous success in fitting the mold. Fitting in does make it more pleasant an experience; teachers dote, peers accept, status quo. HOWEVER, if you don t fit the mold, it s an entirely different NLA experience. There wouldn t be solid peer groups, teachers don t put you on pedestal, and, for our kids, they counted down the days to leave.
If we could change the past, we would have enrolled our kids in public school here in Woodbury.
This is purely our families experience. I know we aren t alone in this. We are representing a group that isn t being heard if you continue to delete posts. If it isn t 5 stars, it s something to listen to, there s honesty and vulnerability behind it. That might be refreshing for the school.
Taking down reviews is trying to silence someone and is perpetuating the problem.

I could not imagine our 3 children attending any other school than New Life Academy. 5 years ago we were welcomed with open arms to a school we knew little about other than their desire to provide a solid Christian education and to encourage the students to be more like Jesus. Every person at this school is a sinner but what I have witnessed from the administration, faculty, student body and fellow families is forgiveness and inclusion. As a mother, I often tell my children how fortunate they are to have a school that breaths life and truth into them in this fallen dark world. I have seen firsthand difficulties in my children that are promptly addressed with love and direction towards Godly character. That will not happen in other schools and that is why we continue to support our school in every which way. New Life is a second home to the entire family and anyone who walks through their doors will feel and understand that.

Our 9th grade daughter loves it at NLA. This is her first year after transferring from a local public school. She (and we) are very happy to be at NLA. Great atmosphere and positive environment.

Phenomenal teachers, atmosphere, curriculum, activities for parents, etc. Cannot say enough good things about it. Teachers care about the well-being of your child and you. You get what you pay for.

Looking for a school that takes education beyond just academics? New Life Academy wants to join families in a partnership. That is an encouraging thing in this current environment to know the school wants to partner with families and church to build up the hearts and minds of Christ followers. Having this relationship for the entire K-12 journey? It's a no brainer!

New life is where I met my life long friends and not only that but I am getting married in 4 months to one of my classmates from new life. I struggled very much in high school and New life teachers and staff did all they could to make sure I was successful.

We love sending our 2 children to NLA. Both started when they were in preschool and now are in elementary. The teachers and staff have always been attentive and accommodating to all of our children s needs. The sense of community is amazing. We can t imagine being anywhere else at this time in their lives.

New Life Academy is an amazing Christian school. My nieces and nephew attend there and I have always been impressed by the programs and quality of education. The faculty and staff are very kind and caring and have always been willing to help them. They always talk about how great their teachers are. Every time i have visited for games, concerts and theater productions I've been impressed with the welcoming atmosphere and how polite the kids that attend there are. I would highly recommend this school to anyone searching for a private, Christian education.

I have had a friend whose child has Autism that I recognized at a young age. I was not allowed to talk with her about it by my direct supervisor at the school. Instead they kept taking her money and moved him into a PreK class. His teacher thought it was alright to send a 15 point letter home as well as contact child protection. The poor kiddo was so overwhelmed by what they required that he acted out in a way they deemed was a sign of abuse. It was not. They consistently ignore anyone that does not fit their mold, especially people with disabilities.

New Life Academy is exactly the kind of school that I want to send my kids to. My husband and I want our kids to receive an excellent education and have lots of extracurricular opportunities, but we want our kids to learn with an emphasis on Christian worldview. In looking at various Christian schools, New Life seems to be one of the best in the area.

Incredible school! New Life Academy has strong academics, including a STEAM program that is second to none. There are tons of opportunities for kids to engage -- the arts, athletics, student life, service and outreach. The school is committed to helping students discover and fulfill God s unique purpose for their lives. Faculty and staff are amazing. They don t just teach about living an authentic Christian life, they MODEL how to do it. Highest recommendation!

This past year, we transferred our high school and middle school children to New Life Academy. We are confident that we made the correct decision! Upon enrolling our children at New Life Academy, we have experienced a great partnership with the faculty and staff as we walk our children through their junior high and high school years. Over the past year, we have witnessed NLA's high school principal, college and career counselor, family and guest assistant, educators, Common Grounds staff and even facility caretakers go above and beyond as they have come along side and truly care for our children academically, emotionally and spiritually. It has been exciting to see through the unique opportunities and project based learning NLA has to offer, our children have been able to discover and nurture many of their God given gifts and strengths. Also as parents of teenagers, we appreciate the tools we have garnered through the seminars hosted by NLA. New Life Academy has been a tremendous blessing to our family.

We applied in June to the school in addition to the variable tuition. There were fees involved for these processes. The problem was the school was not transparent that their tuition assistance was exhausted or close to at the time we applied. Had someone been upfront with us about that fact, we would not have applied saving ourself those non-refundable fee costs and the time and paperwork.

New Life is amazing place for kids to learn how to put their faith in action. Not only will they have the opportunity to learn in a competitive academic program, they will have the opportunity to be involved in many different activities from athletics to Fine Arts to interest clubs - every student can find a place to explore their talents at New Life.

I was by no means a star pupil. I was one of those guys who thought school was just a chore to get finished. However looking back now after a decade I can say that without a doubt New Life Academy taught me so much that I took for granted until I grew up. Most of the people in my life who stood by me and had the most influence on the man I became were the teachers I had at this school. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

We have 2 girls at NLA one since kindergarten and our second since preschool. We have had amazing teachers who truly have loved our girls. There is a caring and compassion that I think would be difficult to find any place else from the administration to the teachers!! We are grateful for the entire NLA community!

I called New Life my home for 13 years, and truthfully it felt like one. I never felt unwelcomed by any staff or faculty. The teachers here set it apart in my opinion. The relationships I developed were ones that will continue on with me for the rest of my life. The friends that I was able to make over my 13 years at the school are lifelong friends. I loved all my coaches as well in all athletics. I would 100% recommend this institution.

I went to New Life for 13 years, made lifelong friends with a great group of guys, and teachers showed they cared about each of us individually and would take time to help us sort through anything we were going through. Would not choose any other private or public school over this one without a doubt.

New Life Academy is a phenomenal school that simply didn't have the resources to hire another nurse for this diabetic child due to the fact that they don't get money from the state. Diabetic children and other children with health problems have done very well here. This school is extremely accepting and many of the reviews I have read to not reflect the love and kindness that my children and many others have experienced here. No one at this school is perfect and everyone is loved. They do a phenominal job at reflecting the love of Christ and seeing all of these negative reviews from people who have no experience here makes me sick.

It is sad that type 1 diabetic children are not welcome at this school. For a Christian school, your morals aren't very good ones. Jesus cared for the sick, the diseased. Why can't you? Every child deserves good education. I wouldn't want my kids to attend this school even if I had any; they'd most likely be discriminated against.

I would never want my child to attend a school tha...

I would never want my child to attend a school that didn t have a core value of inclusion and acceptance. I just cannot fathom how a school can hide under the umbrella that the title private school gives to practice flat out discrimination. A school should want to provide a nurturing and nourishing environment for ALL students. When a challenge may arise I would want my the school to stand up and work with that child. You, as a school don t want to take the time to learn and be educated on a disease? So, what s more important? Having a padded budget or providing all students with basic safety and care? You do realize that all autoimmune disorders are drastically on the rise. Without question there will be another child diagnosed and what then? You are giving the teachers and employees that tried so hard to be encouraging and proactive a bad name! This is simply my opinion. I hope that there can be a response so that the public can be aware of your stance on things. I also realize that specifics may have to be omitted due to privacy issues.

I went to NLA for 13 years and it was a great experience. It is incredible how much the teachers pour into the students lives. This school is incredible because the teachers not only give you a great academic education but they also help you grown in you faith. The entire faculty and staff is so kind and they try to show the love of God in their day to day interactions. I am so glad I went to school here.

I have had kids at New Life Academy since they were in preschool. 2 are now in college, and one is in Middle School. Our college kids were well prepared academically and spiritually for college. Anytime one of my older kids stops by school, the teachers are truely interested in how they are doing. It is a family. I am so thankful for their time at NLA and for the staff who have poured into them.

I find it absolutely *childish* and cruel to 1 star a business that you have NOT attended because ***ONE*** mom on Facebook said to. NLA is an amazing school and I m so excited to send my daughter there in 2 years. My sister currently goes there and has loved it for years. The current nurse is amazing and HIGHLY qualified. We can t thank her, Mrs. Haukedahl and the rest of the staff enough for saving my sisters life last year. There one side to every story.

NLA is amazing, Godly, and filled with amazing workers that protect their students and care for their students completely.

Update to add:

If this child is in the nurses office constantly, this sounds like the child may need a personal aid if her medical needs are that intense. This is a school, not a hospital. If your child is too sick to attend school, that is not the schools fault. The mother PERSONALLY said that the staff and highly qualified nurse there are incredible. The whole reason for her post was to state that they need more nurse assistants on hand. According to State Laws, NLA is within the rules. Grow up people.

Not only does New Life Academy have a history of dedication to Christian education, they offer state of the art classrooms and a STEAM initiative to keep student education relevant for the world in which we live. New Life Academy offers a caring, supportive environment for students as evidenced by the many opportunities provided to students where they can explore their God-given gifts and talents.

Im only writing this because a one star review was left for this school, and it was taken down. The person who left the review did not say anything offensive, or entirely false. It was their opinion. I don t know the full story and I will not blame the school for that, but it s something to note.

I went to nla for 6 years. I did not enjoy my time there. I met some good people, but the cliques and the judgements from everyone around me were overwhelming. I had more issues with teachers than anything else. There are a few wonderful people who truly care about the kids and let them know that, even if they don t necessarily like the child. However, if you aren t liked by a teacher, you ll know. Favoritism is a real issue.

I was extremely disappointed with the Bible classes/chapels/small groups. They are very repetitive and do not relate to the students very often. It s a burden for most students. It s not something they look forward to.

A particular bible teacher was amazing. I won t say names as I do not want this to be taken down, but he really helped me become interested in learning about God again.

Nla is trying, I see that, but for the people who aren t part of the cliques , it s an awful place to be. At least it was for me and most of the people I know. There has been an increase in people leaving the school after being there for many years. Nla just isn t what it used to be, or is trying to be. It s not a horrible school. It s just not the best option for some people.

It was a wonderful place for my brother, he loved it. But he was very popular. Many people enjoy nla, and power to them. It is a good place for many many students.

I know for some, nla was and is a great choice. For those who don t socialize well, it s probably not the best option.

Also what is going on with negative reviews being taken down?

I have changed my name, as the person who originally posted has received some not so nice comments from students. I do not wish to offend, I m leaving an honest review. Thanks for your time.

I have been at this school since kindergarten and all of the cliques and favoritism have been kind of overwhelming. the rules are getting more strict each year and the chapel services/ community groups are repetitive and most people I know don't look forward to them. in most of my classes the teachers don't really relate to the students, they just tell you to take notes and assign you homework. Setting this aside I have had some very encouraging, amazing teachers that really want to teach and make students want to learn. These teachers have really helped and I wish the school would hire more people like this. This review is not meant to offend anyone, it is just an honest review trying to give some advice so the school can maybe improve itself.

We are so blessed to have our kids at such an amazing school where they are challenged spiritually and academically. The teachers and administration truly know and love our kids. We love the small class sizes, their approach to differentiated learning and the project based learning. I strongly recommend NLA to anyone looking for a Christ-centered learning environment.

I started going to New Life Academy in 6th grade. I had struggled at my old school, in both social and academic aspects in my life. When I came to New Life, I found that when I was struggling with anything, whether it was with homework or with life in general, someone was there to help. It s amazing how many people are there for you at this school. I love it so much, and I will continue to love it. My faith has grown so much since I started going to New Life. There are so many opportunities there that helped my relationship with God. Thank you New Life staff and everyone else who has helped benefit us students!
