Filthy, smelly, unclean and unsafe. Continental breakfast is a joke. One of the rooms had piss coming out of the faucet and shower head, and nearly all rooms have blood or other bodily fluid stains. Our room was unlike the others in that it was not updated (old appliances, capreting, wall paint, bedding), and had a strong burning smell. A creepy motel that should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
I stayed at Nendel's for three weeks on a work trip. this is kind of a long review. after the first week of them coming in to only make the bed without cleaning anything, i asked for the bathroom at least to be cleaned. that did not happen. some days later i reminded them on the bathroom. specifically the toilet, and still nothing. the second weekend when the cleaning staff came in, made the bed and left the garbage bin full i asked her for the toilet stick, as i was sick of the situation and regrettably could not move to another hotel. she gave me the stick for cleaning the toilet, i then proceeded to ask her for a bag to put it in after use, and asked if she would be kind enough to also give me the cleaning liquid. i must mention that the stick was brand new and looked like it has never before been used. the cleaning liquid's seal was still intact to she helped me to open it. after cleaning my own toilet i returned the stick in the bag, with the liquid to her, and thanked her. when i told this to another of the staff she promised me that was not the norm, and that she will come the following day to clean herself. that did not happen. my bathroom was cleaned two days later although the floor was not, nor was the rug. that was the only time the bathroom was cleaned in three weeks. towels were changed regularly and the bed was made each day, but when i asked them to change the linen after the first week, they only changed the bottom one, not the pillows or the top one. when i asked at the reception another of the staff (Amanda) told me that is what changing the linen meant, only the bottom one, and that i should ask for a new set if i wanted it changed. other than that the breakfast served has nice cereal, bread and peanut butter, which was fine by me, but the coffee is served in two thermoses and they only make one when one is finished. so in the middle of the week it was standing there for two or three days, and was cold. asking them to make new coffee did work, but they stopped being in the reception area in the morning and answering our calls. i was with another college and her room was not cleaned once during the whole stay. other than that everybody was very polite providing you did not ask for anything, and the restaurant next door "Tokyo Seoul" is very good.
Not all that friendly and really don't take care of the place
Perhaps the worst motel in the state of Washington. Stained carpet and furniture. Filthy bathtub/shower. Extremely rude managers/desk attendants. Avoid this place at all costs.
Clean, dated, no frills. Friendly staff, low price.
I stayed here with my wife and kids. The parking was tight. The rooms were very clean, beds were Very comfy and the staff was nice. Overall it was a very good experience. Definitely will stay again
Surprisingly better than I thought it was going to be. Rooms inside are better than the outside.
Don't be fooled by the exterior. The rooms are very nice and well maintained. Rooms have mini fridge, microwave, and large tv. Enjoyed my stay and will use again in the future.
Place is a little on the older, older side. They had a bed and I could sleep, which is exactly what I expected. You get what you pay for.
Angela (the front desk gal and comanager) is a great gal and the rest of the staff is too. I basically lived there for a while when I was out of town working.
The clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms are surpisingly inexpensive. Most have a great view and some have balconies. The staff aproachable friendly and acomidating. Cable television, decent WiFi, and outdoor pool, makes Nendels a great budget hotel choice. The free breakfast includes coffee, poptarts, and instant oatmeal. Nendels is awesome for sure!
UPDATE: Talked to a local he said out of all the hotels in pullman this is the last one he would stay. He said the janitors steal if you leave anything in your room its took and the front desk people are rude
I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me. I'd much prefer to book an hour away and drive to campus. Absolutely atrocious customer service. They care only about making money and are too foolish to realize pissing off their customers costs them in bad reviews and no return reservations. -- Update -- Nendel's seems to think someone else sets their policies. Since they set the policies with no flexibility to make profit over provide customer service, it still is on them. Stop blaming policies and think of ways to make the customer happy.
There was nothing good about this place. Not very clean
Never would book a room again. They will not refund money and then rebook the same room! Terrible service!
Dirty... run down.. had to get clean sheets from the front desk, they were stained and had hair on them. Front desk staff were nice.. place needs some major updates.
So very bad.... It wouldn't be so awful if they used some of the room overcharge to fix up the property. But definitely not worth the fee when the sink is hanging off the wall, the carpet smells like dirty diapers and the "blackout curtains" are literally shredded...
The worst place I have ever been. I booked one night to have a place to sleep after dropping my kid off at WSU. For $120 I at least expect the staff to be civil and room to be clean. Bad assumption. The receptionist was rude. The room was disgusting and smelly. There was a huge, revolting hair ball in the shower. When I showed the girl a picture she just said, "well we don't have another room." I got a refund and got out of there as quickly as possible. Do yourself a favor and look up Air BnB if the decent hotels are all booked.
If you don't mind walking into your dark room and having all electronics (lamp and fridge) plugged, every light bulb above the mirror out, having the room that doesn't have wifi and has a clogged tub then this might be worth $67. Idk if its fair that I paid that price and got in around 6pm and had be out at 10am. This place sucks but its bareble is you neeed a place to stay.
Right out of the eighties. Repairs and up dates are done very poorly.
Not a bad place to rest, clearly not high class but you get what you pay for.
Lady at the desk was rude, raised her voice over little questions unpleasant smell and a dump overall
Because of the wifi service. The room was very nice, the best bedding I've seen for this price. But, the TV didn't worked and when I asked about it they said the power strip was probably off, which was dead-center behind a 200lb piece of furniture on the floor. There was no way to get at it without moving the entire TV, console, microwave, etc. But, that wouldn't be the case in every room THE MAIN ISSUE was the wifi. The whole reason I got a room was to get in some uninterrupted hours of work on the internet. The wifi connection would work for 5min and then stop, I'd try to reconnect, eventually it would reconnect, work for 5min and quit again. I called the desk, she reset the router-- same problem, never changed. This hotel has great potential to do very well, the rooms are beautiful for a good price-- but, this wifi problem will keep anyone from coming back, and they'll tell their friends. Fix that and you've got a great hotel.
Unsanitary rooms. Walked in, saw the room, walked out, booked somewhere else that night.
I saw many negative reviews but looked over them because this was the only available place over the Apple cup weekend. First impressions were okay, we put a little food in the fridge and put our stuff down then went out for the night. We slept for the night and when we woke up, we were not happy. We tried turning on the tv and nothing happened. We opened the fridge and it wasn t on so all our food was ruined. With a little playing around with the wires, we figured out that a light switch at the enterance controls the tv, microwave, fridge and clock on one overloaded power strip. We turned it on and the tv turned on but didn t have cable. We looked at the wires more and had to plug in the cable box. After that whole thing was figured out, I went to plug in my phone to the only outlet near the bed which was behind it and the plug kept falling out without even touching it. The staff were not helpful through any of this when bringing it to their attention. Overall the only postative we experienced was that it is close to campus. Would not reccomend.
Super soft bed! I was pleasantly surprised and I will be choosing them for all my future pullman stays.
My daughter booked a room with two queen beds two weeks ago. It was for her little sisters graduation, and all other places were booked. The first thing that we noticed was the only deadbolt had been replaced with those slide locks and the deadbolt was on the inside of the door frame. See photo. Then, there was either blood or poop stains on the wash cloth. The mini fridge was so stuck closed that I had to break a fingernail trying to pry it open. The heater stuck on all night so we had to open the balcony door to sleep. The power strip didn't come up from behind the entertainment center so we could plug in a laptop. There were no lids for the warm coffee in the morning. All that for 97.00? The only reason she didn't ask for her money back was we didn't want to waste time dealing with them another minute. Oh and apparently you can't click on "post" until you give them at least one star. I tried to not give them any. Even they know how bad they are. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! THIS BUSINESS SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN AND DEMOLISHED!
For a "divey" hotel. I recommend getting the king bed room. I think that makes the difference. The bed was super comfy. The staff was nice. It's an old hotel, but the price is too good to pass up
Nice rooms, good rates. The staff is okay but not excellent.
Nendels is a quiet and comfortable place to stay. They are pet friendly and always considerate. I'm glad that my son's and I were able to stay there.
It was an inexpensive room just for sleeping. Fulfilled that need nicely, clean and quiet.
we've had to stay here several times; this place is terrible. it's a last resort. its filthy. we don't understand how it stays open
A little rough around the edges, but room was clean and bed was soft.
We stayed here March 1st and 2nd 2018. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. New paint and upgrades were obvious. Nice wide screen TV. Microwave and small refrigerator. Would like to see a coffeemaker in the room although there was coffee available in the lobby. The parking lot was kept clean as much as can be expected with the amount of snow in Pullman at the time. Sushi restaurant and coffeehouse Zoe both excellent and within walking distance. If you want the RItz or are expecting a Seattle type of hotel go elsewhere! If you want a nice plain room at an excellent price this is the place for you!
I didn't like staying here. It's cheap and you get what you pay for with dirty rooms and bad service.
I booked this room for my mother and brother who were coming to visit me. The hotel was dirty and absolutely not worth the price we paid. This was the only place available for a certain WSU event weekend and was told it would be a two night minimum. Due to the event it was something we already had to settle for. After arriving we discovered a room that looked like it hadn't been updated since the 60s. Upon further inspection there was a black ring inside the toilet, which sat crooked. The lampshades were tattered, one of which was obviously torn. The beds were slumped. I would advise anyone who is looking to stay in Pullman to avoid this place at all costs. Not to mention after being quoted $150 a night, for at MOST a $50/night room, the bill that we requested stated they increased the price by $25 MORE a night after we had left. After calling for a price adjustment the woman got aggressive, combative and blatantly refused to adjust the price to what I had been quoted, and verified, three times.
Stayed here as a last minute reservation and now I see why they have so many available rooms. The rooms are old and ours had an unpleasant smell. The bathroom needs extensive cleaning, I found multiple stains and hair. Not a very pleasant experience, will be staying elsewhere in the future.
They will go in your room and steal money. My husband had a hundred dollars stolen. They refused to give us a refund because we had to leave. Druggies and junkies run it
Price was good. Location okay. Walls are as thin as paper. The hallway echoes like a cave so you can everyone outside the door.
Well....
There is a gap between the two parts of the window curtain , so the curtain doesn't close all the way.,. It appears to be too short for the window space. Also, the rooms open with an actual door key rather than a card type key, Which is neither good nor bad
Easy booking, clean room and convenient location. Pet friendly!
Nice hotel. Room and beds were clean. The parking is a little cramped and don't expect many extras. Seemed a but outdated but had a nice tv and the staff was very nice and friendly on check in.
Very busy for WSU Homecoming. Maybe a bit noisier because if that. Parking is very tight & seemingly limited.
Only stay here if your in a pinch and have nowhere else to stay like we did. The bathroom and vanity area felt so gross. It had a BO stench stuck in the carpet or something, the shower had super intense water pressure so it couldn't drain as fast as the water came out so the tub fills up while your showering and it's hard not to get water over the whole bathroom because the water pressure is so intense (probably where the stench came from).
