Jennifer Molleda is nothing more than a jazzed up used car salesman basically. This place and Page Parkes are these 2 bit organizations that are all too fond of registration fees and having classes . I did model in NYC and decided to test the waters here...RUN FOR THE HILLS. She will give you a long winded bs story but DONT BUY IT. Take your money elsewhere, get photo ops done around @ half cost and market yourself through Instagram like I do. Like, don t let them (poorly try to) convince you, that they know magic lmaooo They are humans just like you and me...I hope

Very disappointed signed and had intended to attend the seminar. However, due to the virus wasn t willing to take the risk. Upon cancellation I figured a full refund would be given. Unfortunately their money hungry selves say I can only receive a portion of the deposit. If that s any help to warning anyone to never deal with a fake agency as this one. I ve model for years independently and signed. First off they never make you pay which I should ve seen even myself as a red flag. Second social media is so big you could probably have a better outcome doing it on our own.
I just took the modeling "camp": 3 day seminar on the ins and outs of the modeling world. I enjoyed it and felt that I gained useful insight and tips that helped me improve my skills in just those 3 days. But you have to take it seriously and put the effort in, take notes, practice, and ask questions. I would recommend people take it before heading blind into the industry.
An area I think could improve is the photoshoot portion. All other classes provided you with training, coaching, and critiques. However this one, arguably one of the most important, only gave a sort of "pressure test" as to what it may be like when a photographer is depending on you. It may have helped with those first time jitters, but it would have been much more beneficial if we were being couched to help produce quality photos. Instead it was: you have 10 shots. make them good. ready go. next! I wished we were assisted with notes like, "this pose would be better if you used the hand that is furthest from the camera", or, "now lean your weight on to the back foot instead so..." like I have received on actual shoots (that others may not have experienced yet).
I am signed with the agency, and they are great. The staff is helpful and kind, and I am going to IMTA with the agency this summer. Please do not listen to negative reviews.
would give 0 stars if I could PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRAP DO NOT JOIN THIS AGENCY they will make you feel all excited and that you'll make a lot of money if you attend an open call then, they'll tell you to pay $1300 for classes to sign you (REPUTABLE AGENCIES DO NOT CHARGE MONEY TO SIGN YOU) they have favorites that they pick, which are the only ones that get jobs they'll have a meeting with you, if you're not a favorite, asking what you will do to make them money the whole point of an agency is to represent you well and book jobs for you (which they do not do) I've only made 120 dollars after 2 years of being signed I will undoubtedly not be renewing my contract notice, they post about the same 20 people on their Instagram (which are their favorites who actually get jobs) Houston & Texas, in general, have an extremely small modeling industry without a doubt, the biggest waste of 1300 dollars and one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life I wish I would've paid attention to the negative posts before joining 2 years ago
Let me set this straight for anyone seeking talent representation from any agency in the USA. Talent agencies are a legitimate income producing industry categorized by the US government just like any employment agency. I have been in professional theatre and film for 50 years and a member of 4 professional entertainment industries. I have had both agents and managers. The ONLY thing you need to know is that reputable talent agencies DO NOT charge anything up front, require talent take their classes, use their photographers, etc. If ANY agency requires any of the above, hit the door running as fast as you can. They are not what your are looking for. If you want to press them ask the following questions: 1) Are you SAG or AEA franchised? If no, leave.2) What actors from this area have you successfully cast in a national commercial or film in the past 12 months. Reputable agencies will love to brag on their talent, others will give excuses as to why they cannot reveal that information. If no results, leave. 3) What is your BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating and what complaints have you had within the past 36 months? Any complaints unresolved? You probably won't get this far if they are not reputable, but if they refuse to share this, you can check it on the internet. Please understand this is for information only and not a review or condemnation of this or any agency. Use this information to aid in making an informed decision whether this or any other agency is right for you.
5 Stars are not enough!!! I can not began to explain how wonderful NHA is. My daughter started classes late 2018. She was not immediately signed with the agency once the classes were done because she needed more training. Modeling and Acting is a craft, a profession so you must work at it. The school offered 6 months of FREE classes for my daughter to work on her craft, after her schooling was complete. In the interim she auditioned for IMTA and was selected. My daughter in addition to the school and free classes attended over 300+ hours of free classes to train her for IMTA. My daughter was trained by experts in the industry who are modeling and acting today! It was a lot of hard work. We followed all the advice. My daughter attended IMTA and won big........ultimately being scouted and signed with agents across the USA. I am grateful for Neal Hamil. I am so happy I chose Neal Hamil. Go to this school you will go far, listen to the staff, they know what they are talking out. Success does not happen over night but with hard work and dedication. I would not change my decision for my daughter to have attended this school or to be with this agency for nothing!!! Thank you Neal Hamil!!!!
you guys are saying this is unprofessional etc.......but I'm taking classes from here and there doing great with me.... I'm getting work while I'm still in class, so i don't know what went wrong with you guys? but everything is going great for me!
Waste of time and money. I took the two week model training camp, as well as did a photoshoot with a photographer outside of the agency for content, I paid for this out of my own pocket. I never booked one job. After about a month, they stopped sending emails as well as eventually took my portfolio off of the site. Do not waste your time or money here, if you are passionate about it fight for it, but I wouldn't say this is the place to do so.
Warning stay away it's a SCAM not a real modeling agency. The real rating is below zero these people are heartless crooks and will steal your money!!!!!
I used to be signed with them and then they were great at teaching, the education they give does NOT go further with you. In this agency I always got called in and emailed about gigs that had nothing to do with me nor described me. (Color of my hair or skin) I didn t book, not 1 job on here. All I got were spams. It was honestly a waste of my time and money
I say this with all of my heart when I say that Neal Hamil is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The staff is amazing don't listen to all these negative reviews because Jennifer is amazing and everyone working there is so supportive and really cares about your career and wants help start your career into modeling and or acting honestly really being with Neal Hamil has changed my life for the better and I would 10/10 recommend Neal Hamil to anyone who is interested in modeling and or acting!!! Come join the family !!!
I went there as a child thinking everything was all good until they said they would call us about modeling but they didn't call us until 2 years later!!!
Neal Hamil Agency is definitely NOT a reputable agency that can successfully represent you and book you jobs. Jennifer Morella (the head of the agency) will give you a seemingly authentic talk at the open calls. She will talk about how the agency has had some of their models do runways or others book successful commercial projects. Then she will say that Neal Hamil Agency doesn't accept everyone, blah blah blah and more garbarage.
Everyone from my open call was accepted. Once you're accepted, they will give you a speech about how you're on the road to making good money by booking commercial projects and how you'll get recurring income from the gig for one to two years, and so forth.
They say you need to pay $300 for a registration fee, then you're required to take their classes, which are another $400, and take photos for your portfolio (through their photographer, which is $700) before you can book gigs. THIS IS NOT HOW REPUTABLE MODELING AGENCIES WORK.
Reputable agencies DO NOT require you to take their classes and use their photographer. The only thing you have to pay for when you start modeling is an initial photoshoot to "build your book". Your book is a series of pictures your agency gives when you are looking at booking gigs. You don't have to do this through the agency's own photographer, you can find your own. The cost should be around $300-500. That's it. That's all you have to pay when you get started modeling. You DO NOT have to pay and take classes before you can book gigs.
When trying to find a reputable modeling agency, ask a few things. 1) are they SAG or AEA franchised? 2) What models of theirs have they cast in a national commercial or film or tv in the last 12 months? They should be able to list off more than just one name.
Lastly, I was really appalled at the unprofessionalism of Neal Hamil Agency. I paid the $300 registration fee but I found out I was moving to a new state a few weeks later. I asked for a refund and they said it would take 30 DAYS to issue. Why in the world would it take any longer than the standard 5-7 business days most businesses take to issue refunds? Then, once the 30 day mark hit, they gave another excuse and said it would take 60 DAYS to issue the refund. I just kept calling and pestering them until they issued the refund.
The front desk staff is really unprofessional and immature. Every time I went in, they were always laughing, chatting, and on their phones. The emails they sent out frequently had spelling errors, bad grammar, and broken links. I found out that most of the front desk staff is young, college-aged interns, which explains it.
Sorry for the long review, I just really want to give an exhaustive explanation as to why Neal Hamil Agency sucks and tips on finding a reputable agency. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Nope, hell nah, nej, nao, no bueno...please save yourself and time...the talent rep is rude and unprofessional. I recommend Boysen Agency, Beaz Talent or Acclaim in Austin. You will get better treatment and open communication without being belittled. I was signed with this agency and left because of the current acting rep nasty attitude. Do yourself a favor and be smart about your career. Wish I posted this sooner to warn others.
Neal Hamil Agency is the WORST example of a business. Please listen to others who have posted reviews on other websites. Don't take your children there for their classes. They leave 5 year olds unattended in the lobby while the acting coach takes her break. I know because I was the only parent who stayed with their child instead of just dropping them off. The photographers are a joke. The pictures on their website are NOT what you get. They send you to a place a few blocks away to get your composites. RIDICULOUSLY priced and just plain bad. It's a joke. If you want to drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars, they will send you places (all of which YOU pay for) in hopes that your child or teen will be discovered. It's very sad. If you don't believe me, just step inside the main reception area and just observe the employees. They are very young girls with obviously no professional experience.
This agency is absolutely a joke. Once you go into open call every Wednesday, there are 2 ladies with Jacob that appear inside the room sitting in front of a computer. There is one light black lady who is a total drama queen. She judges everyone by the way they look and make nasty comments whispering into the other ladies ears. She don't know what she talking about. She have some type of bipolar disorder or mental issues. At one time she is all quiet like somebodies funeral is being held. On another hand, she laughs so hard giving the agency a hardcore earthquake. I'm talking about a light fair complexion black lady with curly hair. She finds everything wrong with every model out there. She don't know that this same thing can happen to her in the future. Just by holding the position as a judge, doesn't mean you gonna loose your self-esteem. She have no respect to others whatsoever. God knows who hired her a a judge in the first place. She just discriminating all the models out there based on race and color. Never join this agency ever again.
Pissed to the max. Ok a few years ago my mom paid $1000 to help me peruse modeling. They taught me how to walk, app. of makeup, and a little bit of acting. The only good thing I got out of that class was the makeup. Once your get your diploma you get signed onto the agency. However, the guy took all my best photos, and had the nerve to say my hair was too short. My hair was cut like Halle Berry's...literally! I saw pictures of other women with shorter hair than me. I came back a 2 years later to retrieve my photos and they said it was in storage and the manager had no access to it -_- . Bs. The center staff are so sweet, but once you get the agency, it's a totally different story. They weren't sympathetic, and didn't want to help at all. My hair is now longer and a certain person ( I won't say her name), criticised my hair. Like really aren't you professional. My hair is thick, long, and curly now. Bottom line save your money and find somewhere else to go. In my opinion, it only seems like they're looking for skinny, STRAIGHT hair, tall, pale models. However, if you decide to go, goodluck! =)
I got scouted at the galleria & was so happy because it s one of my dreams to get into modeling. (Which is very hard). I finally went in to meet the lady and she tried to make me pay $3000 dollars for classes. The number 1 rule I ve learned was that you should never pay. I ll be a model one day I m determined
This agency has offered many things and it is a great opportunity. I totally recommend. I was able to model in the wedding industry, high-end fashion designers, travel around the United States, and potential go over-seas. They do ask to pay but so do all agency. In addition, some people feel as though the agency can be cruel and rude, but that is not the case. I feel people don t understand the agency is giving constructive criticism and looking out for your best interest. Don t be afraid to voice your opinion to your agent.
They are some of the sweetest, nicest, and most hardworking people I know. The people at the front desk and center work so hard for everyone to improve, and the agents say by day work their shoes off to get us booked. Neal Hamil is so worth it and I loved being signed by them!
I ve been signed with them since January 2018 and they are like a second family to me! They seem a little rough around the edges at first but they warm up!!! They have made me into the successful model I am today! I went to IMTA LA with them and that helped me sign with a NY based agency so I now work in LA, NY, and Canada as well as Houston! They really know what they are doing and they give you the tools you need to grow in the field! A lot of people get turned off because of the toxicity of the modeling industry but it s all about your mindset going into it! A strong heart is a strong model! And people think success is instant, it s not. It s a staircase not an escalator so don t expect to be walking for Prada or in the cover of Vogue writhing a week of signing!
Terrible company I wouldn't even give them one star because they don't deserve it. They steal your money and try to pass themselves off as a real agency. They are nice when they want your money and rude once they get it and have teenagers running the front office. So unprofessional its more like a day care than a modeling school. take my advice, stay very far away. Don't even waste your time there. If you are looking for modeling work in Texas, Dallas is better. If any place says they can get you work as a model in Houston they are LIARS!. This company tells you they can get you work out of state, the catch is you have to pay for it with your own money. I sincerely regret my decision to have anything to do with these con artists. smh
These are my peeps! If you re just starting out and truly serious about your acting career, this is the place to be! SAG-AFTRA franchised and top notch state certified training to boot that will benefit you greatly as you build your brand! #TeamNealHamil #GoingPlaces
Neal Hamil Agency is nothing but a joke and a scam. First of all, Neal Hamil will accept ANYONE trying to model as long as you are willing to pay upfront (at contract signing and for classes). Don t think you are special ladies and gentlemen. I do not know any individual in my open call that was turned down. They will extend a contract to anyone in order to try and make money. Everyone gets an invitation to IMTA New York as long as you were willing to pay $5K++. Keep that in mind.
Jasmine (their new booker) is terrible and rude. There is usually a misspelling in all of her emails. She is defensive and condescending. She will send out job emails that do not even have a location listed. Sloppy, unclear and unprofessional. Additionally, the staff at the front desk all look about 12-14 years of age. They are unknowledgeable and don t really know what s going on.
If you do sign a contract, make sure you are clear as to what you are signing up for. It s only a matter of time before you learn how this establishment operates. Each job that comes through pays next to nothing, so it s not worth your time and gas to even attends the casting. Good luck.
