Giving one star because you can t give none. My daughter is taking the intensive course AS/A2 in same year. Repeatedly turns up for class with no teacher to take it. Agency teacher absolute joke sits looking at videos or is on her phone . Gives handouts for them to read through but no active teaching . Students teach themselves as far as they can. I know we are getting them into self study but occasional input from a teacher so they know they are on the tight track considering that the college receives payment for each student supposedly to teach them not just to cover them coming into the building. Why accept students on a course you fail to resource if not for financial gain. Look elsewhere if you are interested in this course this is definitely not the place to come. The sad part in this is the effect this will have on the students futures and no one at this college appears to care. Have ofstead looked at this if not why not

Disgrace of a college. Poor student support services, they will fob of your claim by saying the budget is tight or like a few reviews have mentioned they will claim they have lost paperwork and will hold up your claim for extra in lesson and out of lesson one to one supporter weeks. I ve had to fight to get the college to accept the support for my learning difficulty needs, they just don t seem interested in helping one bit. Staff are really rude and are terrible and teaching, it also seems a lot of staff accept the older staff members will just let students pretty much do what they please in lesson and on the college premises. The college toilets stunk of cannabis constantly at the Maid Marian way campus, not only that but there where clear drug deals taking place right outside the campus in broad daylight. Security are great but there s only one or two members of security at the reception area of the campus, so people with no student lanyard will just use the fire exits or back entrances to gain access to the campus. College take no responsibility for their mistakes everything is your fault not there s or the staffs. My coursework has been lost repeatedly, miss marked or not marked at all. If your tutor looses your work there s nothing you can do about it because they will forcefully demand you re do it all even though sometimes it s assignments that are like a small novel to complete. Complaints team as people have also mentioned are just useless and lazy, they will say they will do everything in their power to get your complaint sorted but they never do or they will brush it under the carpet. Feel bad for new students starting here that don t have a clue about this place and also there recent treatment of staff is disgusting.

Terrible college. Waste of a two year course as the qualifications I achieved were useless in getting a job in the industry I wanted to start a career in. Tutors wouldn't turn up and you would have a new supply teacher every month.

Really bad organisation, no help for students who don t know what s going on especially when you go to them for help, the only best staff I know is David morgen at high pavement the rest just couldn t care any less if u was a human or a rat rooming Around for help.

I'm a second year student. When I first came here to study my course was brand new and while that made it difficult since we were the guinea pigs, so to speak, I really enjoyed and thrived in the challenge. The staff are very friendly and approachable, clearly caring a lot for those under their care. The staff in Media, Administration, Student Finance and Student Learning Support are also very helpful and friendly, making them easy to talk to and approach with issues. My class in particular was very diverse with a range of interesting and inspirational people. The two years I spent here did have their high and low points but I feel like I have learned a lot and gained a strong sense of freedom and self I definitely didn't have before.

Your throwing your future away if you decide to join this college! Worst college I ve been too ever! Awful teaching lazy and unprofessional had multiple lessons where my tutor never showed up too and no other college member of staff knew where she was my course work was repeatedly misplaced I was then forced to do my assignment all over again had very little support and any 1 to 1 support is non existent my tutor constantly slagged our class off even though it was her fault half my class where failing the year don t go to this CON of a college it s a business which only cares about money and there pass rate

I was a student here but have recently left because of the way this college is run and the poor decision making. I ve not had it easy with a lot of the staff because they re disorganised and really seem to not know a lot of information that is relevant to us learning which makes it seem like they re inexperienced. There s been some instance where stuff has been taught wrong or if there s been a cover tutor they seem to have no information passed on to them which has made understanding things a lot harder. I ve ask for support with catching up as I ve fallen behind because of Covid and I ve had things booked in but no one would turn up to support me so I ve been left just roaming about on my own as have my friends too. With online lessons tutors have been late or have not been teaching us and we ve instead been playing games which isn t at all helpful. The other issue is the amount of drama and fights on the campus and little seems to be done about it and if security or a tutor turns up they egg the fight on. Since going to west vision college I ve learnt more and progressed more than I ever did at the Adams building.

My son attend the Nottingham College Adams building campus. My son suffers from Asperger s and epilepsy, from his condition he has to have a T.A at all times to ensure he s safe, comfortable and in a calming environment.
As I ve shockingly learned from him and a friend of his at the college this hasn t been the case at all. There was an agreement made between the local authority and me for his learning needs and support. During his time at the college I ve learnt heartbreakingly that he s been left unattended in instances. Not had the environment he s in controlled to a level that is comfortable with him and not having someone next to him going along with the work that s being taught and breaking this down for him. He s not had a routine put together either which he has to have in order for him to cope with challenges he faces. There s also been other students in the class that have been frequently bullying him, harassing him and picking on him, it got so bad that the police even had to get involved because the college refused to take these claims seriously and to investigate. Thankfully we ve now managed to move him to another college who have dealt with his needs miles better and they re smaller then Nottingham college is whilst pushing my capacity to move him with the pressure of home life . I m honestly appalled by the colleges behaviour and I m now in the process of filling a court order against the college and a investigation into the failings. It seems to me the college plays an act when they re reviewed by offsted because how the hell they ve been aloud to operate the way they re doing doesn t sit right with me at all.

This is one useless college, apart from some really good teachers - this college is useless, under resourced, incompetent and utterly racist when it comes to foreign students, in summery for myself, my Level 3 was great, my HNC was awful, I More

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT APPLYING TO GO TO THIS COLLEGE!!!! Since the merge the lack of drive from the college has been appalling learning support is non existent teachers are rude and skip lessons without notifying anyone my work got lost repeatedly and I was made to re do it even though it was my tutors mistake for misplacing it my class was constantly being put down and falling behind due to overdue deadlines which the tutors weren t teaching the criteria properly and making us fall behind tutors treated the class unequally and had no regard for the welfare of the students only the outcome of the college I was also made to do functional skills even though on my assessment I was at a GCSE level a year wasted learnt nothing and it s been lowest I felt personally from an educational year DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME!!! College deserves shutting down especially the Maid Marian Way campus

I attempted to start an AAT course at the college ...

I attempted to start an AAT course at the college but was appalled by the lack of comprejensive information on the website regarding eligibility and the uncooperative approach of the college staff I was in contact with. As a professional working in a related sphere who has a Masters degree from an English university, I thought my credentials would be enough to secure a place on a course that I would be paying for after following the relevant admission procedure. I was told that my qualifications, although impressive, were not enough and that I had to present evidence that I have sat both an English and Maths GCSE, completely diasregarding the fact I come from a different country with a different educational system. I agreed to do a pre-liminary assessment to help them determine what the most suitable course for me was and as a type of entry exam. After spending days preparing for the assessment and taking leave from work to attend it, I was able to achieve good results and was confident my application would be progressed. To my surprise, weeks later I had not been contacted yet and when I enquired about the reasons for this lack of communication was told that they had no record of my attendance and that my results have effectively been lost. On the day of the assessment my attendance was noted by at least two people at a help desk and yet they could neither find my results nor confirm that I had indeed attended.
To me this is an atrociously unprofessional conduct, considering the effort I had put in ensuring that I attend and do well in the exam. The way they handled the situation convinced me that I'd be better off looking for alternative providers and avoiding dealing with such unlrofessional, ineffective institution and the people working for it. If the quality kf their customer service is so underwhelming, I can only imagine what the quality of teaching would be.

Yes this college is pretty bad if it wasn t for some decent kinda hearted staff I would give lower. The place is a complete laughing stock my teacher is pretty much a learner has no industry knowledge or barely any knowledge of the course she s teaching so we re stuck having to research ourselves. The lessons on top of that are really poorly organised or composed of staff members sitting on there phones in lessons. The T.As are no help either they just ask the teacher if she will help us as they can t understand basic logical questions. Please train your staff better as for the resources you provide none of it works or the equipment is so battered!!!

I tried to sign up for a EAT course at NCN Clarendon as a very mature student and for a number of reasons I got the distinct impression that they were not being helpful in the slightest, but the main reason for my review is that they wanted proof of my CSE results from exams that I had taken almost 35 years ago at a school that is no longer a comprehensive from an exam board that no longer exist. Effectively they were asking for the impossible and although I offered to do an entrance exam to allow me entry onto the course and explained that I have ample vocational qualifications within my profession including an National Diploma they refused. How disappointing must it be for any mature student who is trying for example to improve their job prospects or their opportunities in life, and I sincerely hope that the governing bodies or grant contributors to NCN are monitoring how and why students are accepted and the grounds on which they are refused. Particularly as I was actually paying in full for the course, I wasn't getting it for free due to not being in receipt of any benefits. I was left with the clear impression that older students are not wanted. Fortunately after putting the phone down to NCN all of the next 3 smaller training providers I contacted, accepted me over the phone there and then, exemplifying the phrase that " every cloud has a silver lining "....

One word to describe the college CONCERNING! I m beyond disbelief at this place and dazzled at how this college is still open and rated good by offsted.
Nottingham College is the biggest CON! of an educational institute. It s absolutely poor don t be deceived by there false commitment to further your education they will only use you to make there college look good it s all an act! Nottingham College do not give a damn about students struggling or in financial difficulty.
My class was amazing but was let down by the poor teaching and the most oddest of decisions from course management.
My tutor hardly turned up to lessons constantly blamed our class for his wrong doings and errors. He lied to the managers about us saying the reason we where mostly failing was down to us even though he misplaced our work on a regally basis and forced us to re do the units, he didn t have a clue as to what units where due to be marked and hardly communicated with us. When my tutor didn t show up to lessons not one member of college staff knew where he was or who was covering the lesson their idea was to have someone completely unqualified covering the lessons who was even honest about not be qualified to teach yet. Don t waste your time either if you have learning difficulties or fall behind with coursework learning support is non existent and I had learnt nothing of value from my tutor. What s worse is I paid a lot of money for this course and I also had to do a Maths and English exam another CON of Nottingham college! I had the correct GCSEs and I even showed them in my interview then it was made out that the assess had no clue that I had my GCSEs already another failure NO COMMUNICATION FROM THE PLACE! this college is a mess don t go wasting your future look at the other reviews they will tell you what you want to hear and this so called education establishment will lie to your face about there promises and commitments to your learning needs and your safety.
My complaint I submitted has also been ignored even though I ve rang about a dozen times too promises that a manager would be back in contact shortly to review my concerns never happened! and my emails that I have sent have still not been replied too must be about a good 5 emails ignored I hope this college looses students time for a wake up call.

I ve been to this college both before and after the merge and the change of the place has been a step backwards unfortunately very little learning support, poor teaching standards, miscommunication and dumbing down of students won t be attending again as I m also set too fail my course

I have studied at this college twice now, once before they merged and were still NCN and once after when they became Nottingham College. I studied a forensic science course the first time and ended up dropping out as the teaching standard was terrible. I was learning nothing, and when I asked for help they didn t give it. I ve now recently completed an Access to Nursing course with them. The teaching standards were slightly better, however the course was extremely unorganised and you don t receive the proper help needed to get higher grades. They take FOREVER to mark work, leaving you behind schedule of where you should be. I am due to start university in September and to do so I need full proof of my grades along with a portfolio folder I handed to the teachers at the end of June. I cannot enrol on my uni course without these, I emailed to see when I d get my results. 3rd September they said!! Unacceptable to say I m supposed to start shortly after.
Do not study here it s awful and you won t achieve the best you can.

When I first started my new term at Nottingham col...

When I first started my new term at Nottingham college I was so excited. I was so over the moon to finally get back on my feet after having a very difficult time at school and coming out with poor grades and to finally get away from bullying.
My first couple of weeks where excellent I really settled in and felt like I had made the right choice but sadly this was all let down. I came in to every lesson and gave my all. I thought positively and got on with the work needed.
But as soon as our assignments where given the cracks started to show, we had been taught very little on our subject and most of the units where very rushed. I asked for help with the understanding of my assignments but was denied this and told I didn t have anything wrong with me in order for me to have 1 to 1 learning support. I also noticed that many of our assignments where late constantly and dates where mixed up which added confusion plus we where not taught certain things which showed In the assignments.
what also didn t help is most of the staff where completely un interested in explaining this and helping students who where struggling, many of the ones struggling where left on the own even though many asked if things could be explained better. Which to my teachers response was to research it yourself, unfortunately this wasn t just one teacher many other had the same attitude of uncaringness towards teaching. Many staff members do not like to take responsibility for there mistakes and pass the blame on to the students.
When our teacher complained to the course management about students work many of the issues was actually the teachers fault: Late marking, late assignments and missing work. Many students began to quickly fall behind due to poor teaching standards and no 1 to 1 support or clear explaining.
My teacher blamed it on laziness and said that we never handed in assignments on time as a class. A lot of the time college teachers skipped lessons or where late regularly or busy chatting to staff outside for half the lesson. Many students where very out of hand and agressive which the college teachers in courage and found funny. I had to report an incident to a course manager due to an other student being racist towards, which angrily was brushed under the carpet and ignored by management.
I will not be attending again what a let down I blame my failing grades on this college thanks for failing to get me onto a higher course!

Disgusting college. Giving students 4 days notice that they need to attend their course, bearing in mind most of these students are in their 20's with fulltime jobs and families. These students should given a yearly calender for when they need to attend not for when it is 'convenient' for staff!!

I came to this college to learn and develop with my education as I fell behind with my study and wanted to retake my level 3 to progress into my desired job role. After, about a month I learned this would not to be the case or smooth sailing at all. I may as well have been learning from YouTube lessons, then taking out a loan to pay for my course. I ve had quite a distressful experience and I even feel like I m being setback from in the future with my life. This college is just disgusting, the staff have no respect, students get away with anything and can bully the hell out of you with staff witnessing it and getting support has been a nightmare still chasing the software I need to help with my dyslexia. I think I ve made a huge mistake.

I m a current student of this university and I would not advice to ANYONE this college.

The grade criteria is a shame, the criteria is obvious not follow in the same way for the different lectures.

There are lectures that just don t accept your opinion, even if you have how the defend it, looks just impossible for them to think outside of the box (this is not all the lectures).

Feedback dates are simply a joke. This is not followed and if you say something against will not sort it.

Not all the courses have the same benefits (speaking on travels for example) the same course can do 3 excellent travels and the same in a different year will only do 1, shameful.

The feedback that the college asks you is once again something shameful! Feedback is asked before you even know your own feedback, what was suppose to be anonymous is not anonymous.

The resources for the students are reduced but the year fees keep on growing? No sense.

I could state many more problems but this would not change anything.

I was within NCN for OND and HNC Civil Engineering. You must remember NCN is a business and NOT a learning institution.

A good tutor recognised my numerical dislexia however the college refused to follow this up owed to the costs or help with any suspport.

I now run my own business with support from the Princes Trust in the form of business mentor Melvin Lusty.

New College Nottingham is truely a terrible college for further education. It is solely interested in money and not education.

I would never contemplate sending any employees to New College Nottingham nor would I encourage any parents to send their children here.

Bullying is rampant problem and surprisingly this comes from the tutors and administration.

New College Nottingham will educate you to pass however you will leave with little or no understanding of your stubject choice. You will need to essentially provide your own education in order to supliment the failings of NCN.

You will get better value for money and far better education if you simply purchase a fake certificate online and Google your chosen subject.

Utterly appalling College!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COLLEGE I WOULD STRONGLY ADVIS...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COLLEGE I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST IT! It s not even been 2 months and I ve had an experience from hell.
No tutors have been turning up to lessons for weeks, I know some of it is down to strikes but it doesn t help when there has been no step in action from the college itself.
It s not really been an advancement from school it s been more like a step backwards. We are being taught childish things like quizzes that have nothing to do with what we are learning and games of Kahoot and guess who. The college is horrendously disorganised and poorly resourced in most areas.
Again we have missed out on vital work, everything is a muddled mess, no one seems to know what is going on, no work has been emailed as was promised by tutors and we haven t had emails to keep us updated on lessons that aren t disrupted by strike days. Many in our class are already stressed because work is pilling and there s uncertainty about if we are going to be taught or if we are going to pass our course, students have already started to leave or are applying elsewhere as quick as they can.
The college is severely understaffed and under-resourced, there s too many students in the class and not enough staff to attend to us all. I personally haven t had any issues but others have with learning support and are being turned away due to budget cuts.
Our pre-term assignment still hasn t been marked and we haven t got any grades back to show where we are at individually.
The colleges management team are unprofessional, unapproachable, lazy and have no interest in student needs, only budget and financial gain. I wish I would have read through reviews sooner, my biggest regret has been coming enrolling here and I think I ll be switching to another college by the end of October, that s if they let me as they ve tried every method of excuse possible from letting me leave (because they will loose course funding).

I've had an awful experience whilst attending this...

I've had an awful experience whilst attending this college. The teaching quality is terrible on top of the fact that NO interest is taken in the students and their futures. I left after a year and wouldn't advise anyone who's looking for a good education to go there.

Well what can I say the reviews on google and face...

Well what can I say the reviews on google and facebook speak for themselves this college is a poor excuse for an education establishment and it deserves to be investigated.
There are a lot of issues with Nottingham college some are very concerning! if you are any parent please think twice about sending your child here or if your an adult please think twice about your application with this college! I would strongly advise other options!
Now before I get into my issues and issues about the safety and well being of other students and there learning development, I want to say that in no means am I out to attack Nottingham college. They do have some lovely and dedicated staff that care but get treated like dirt by poor management.
Please note the facilities and equipment are 90 percent of the time really good if not outstanding.
The main point is this college both originally central college and ncn have been forced into a merge by city councillors, councillors that couldn t give a damn about any students future or members of staff that have worked there for years it s all about saving as much money as possible that s why this college has gone way below teaching standards and I m sure any staff that reads this will agree!
I don t know where to begin maybe with the lies I ve been told and promised? at the beginning of the term our class was promised the world we won t let you down we have a high pass rate!, we want to see all our students succeed and work towards their future, we are committed to your learning and we have support everywhere . All of what was promised to our class was a dirty lie my work that s gone missing was blamed on me even though my tutor lost it I was made to do an entire unit from scratch a unit I put work and effort into all night for the past few weeks. Our coursework was unmarked almost all the time or late.
Teachers not turning up to lessons or late happened on a regular basis, members of staff didnt know where any of the teachers where.
I can go on...this college doesn t give a damn about any student that attends! it s all about money and how there image looks good I m so thankful I didn t pay for my course as others did.
The learning support if you fall behind? Well there is none even though I asked multiple times for support to help with my speed and with catch up and was given excuses.
There are some teachers that are not stable winch showed! they cannot cope with teaching a class and there are some that really only care about themselves.
Communication was also an issue when I had days off i emailed my tutor for given work and was ignored and then pulled into a meeting and blamed that it was my issue not a single sorry or admittance of their mistake.
During the beginning of my term the college also has major security issues with there computers and viruses and where not fit to use securely.
When substitute teachers stepped in to cover many did not have a clue as to what units we where being taught or what was needed to be taught so on a basis of a teacher being of we where aloud to do what we wanted whilst the tutor sat down or went missing for half of it and we where left on our own with no work given.
The Units weren t being taught to us properly and this showed in the final assessment which to my amazement the teacher then found out she never taught us one of the units shown in the final assignment.
Students often walked out and no teacher knew where they where or bothered to chase up where they had gone.
Course management was poor any concerns I raised or bullying issues with other students where not taken seriously any brushed under the carpet.
I think it s time offsted got involved!
I won t be doing any further education here I will be attending Derby college.

I was here from 2012-2015 on Media and Creative Design courses, a few of the tutors were a bit dodgy but the ones I had for the most part were alright and made sure I got my assignments finished in time and the student support was fine when I needed it.

It's a shame, sounds like the place has really gone to the dogs since then
