When visiting yosemite region its definitely worth going down to see these parks. We visited in middle of week. didnt seem overcrowded. we started south to north which definitely seems the right way to do it as you continuously are going up and up building excitement and watching the change of terrain and trees. (having a GPS audio tour app running in your vehicle makes it even better explaining the changes, stops and turns). The views from general Sherman hwy are amazing capped off once you make the turn for moro rock and view the region from the top of the world there with 360 degree views of the alpine vistas on a not so difficult climb of 300 + steps. stop at tunnel log after that which is nearby and then head back down and drive to the general Sherman and congress trail for a short and not too difficult hike on a well done path to the famous sequoias. stop by a visitor center too on the way. There's some traffic and delays in summer 2020 due to road work on way from there to kings canyon. Big stump picnic area was closed when we were there but we found a gem in driving up the narrow ( sometimes scary)road to panoramic point, there were picnic tables up there and was a very pleasant picnic supper. we then went up the short trail to panoramic point for sunset time. the drive out of kings canyon toward fresno was incredible watching the sunset and changing skies as we drive. all this done in one day.

You really can't judge the grandeur of these magnificent trees. The truly ancient forest is extremely peaceful. There are miles and miles if wonderful trails. The only negative thing I would mention is there is road construction on one side going in that be a delay of up to 2 hours. This was going on in late 2018 and probably will take up 2019. Check before you go, but please visit this place. You will be glad you did.

Beautiful redwood trees and camp ground. We went during off season do it was still cold outside but it's easier to stay warm and you don't get the bugs. We even saw a few deers. It was relaxing and beyond expectations. It's mother nature at its best.

It was closed when I drove all the way over here. I was very very upset. It shouldn't have been closed just because of the virus. They could have done a better job with all of that... Its a beautiful place to visit though and take pictures of and spend time with loved ones out in nature. Great time to get away from the city and people that live in the city. Also a great time to take a break and just reflect on life and better yourself, mentally, spiritually, and physically!

It was such a beautiful place to visit. There are many paths to go on. There is a museum where you can learn many facts about the park, especially the trees. It's a really great place to take the family. Very peaceful.

Giants Sequoias, undisturbed wilderness, and crisp, clean air. It's my happy place. It's become a little too popular the last few years with so many tourists so to enjoy this amazing landscape at its best, go off season .

Amazing park ... an expression about natural. Prepare to disassociate yourself from the technology as you cut the resection completely and have an amazing time around nature. I recommend arriving very early or camping a few days because the road is long.

A spectacle of nature not to be missed. It is not possible to describe the majesty of these monumental trees. Not even the photo makes the idea.
Entrance fee with car $ 35; with this ticket you can enter the park for 1 week.
For those who intend to visit more than 2 parks it is better to get a card.

I really should make it 5 stars because it's absolutely gorgeous, but it took a hefty amount of time to actually get to the Sequoia's, though that was expected, and whilst on a hiking trail, I encountered a couple people by a small stream smoking. That kind of messed up the experience, but besides that, it's definitely worth it.

Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks are where you can find the giant redwood trees, with many over 200 feet. Some trees with hallow centers are large enough for pedestrians to pass through. These trees are among the oldest living organisms on Earth; many over hundreds if not thousands years old.

Visited a couple weeks ago on a Monday as a day trip. We did the General Grant trail first. Not many people there, and all wearing masks. Then as we were leaving that area of the park, the parking lot filled up with large groups of family being loud, ignoring the rangers who asked them to take their ball throwing to a picnic area, no masks, and crowding around our car. We were happy to move on.

We took the winding road into the canyon and enjoyed hiking around the meadow. We found a picnic area with no one else in it to enjoy our lunch. Beautiful views! More twisty roads to go to the side of the park by General Sherman. Glad I brought Dramamine since I can get a bit motion sick.

While driving, we had to stop where there was road work and only one lane of traffic could go at a time. We waited about 40 minutes before it was our turn, and the one lane stretch lasted several miles.

The trail to General Sherman was very crowded when we got there later in the afternoon. About half or less were not wearing masks. I often got glared at by people not wearing masks. We often stopped just off the trail to let groups of people go by with no masks and no intention of keeping a safe distance.

Also, the trail to General Sherman is downhill. It s short, but going back up at that elevation was a tough for me. Worth the effort though!

We saw at least 5 dear and two bears. The trees and the canyon are so beautiful!

My complaints are about people being rude and unsafe about covid, despite the signs up everywhere and rangers doing their best.

Go toward the middle of the week if you can. Bring toilet seat covers since most bathrooms won t have any.

There is no words to describe the beauty of this park. Here are some pictures to somewhat explain. The only way to acually describe how beautiful the park is you will have to go.

This park deserves the highest rating possible.

I went by car from Los Angeles.

I went by car from Los Angeles.
It took time, but there were lots of lemon and lime fields along the way, and there were lots of scenery you can't see in Japan.
There was a hummingbird around the three reverses and I was impressed.

Pay money at the entrance to enter the park.
Altitude is already high. The road has many curves and you can drive safely.
There is a campsite and there is a squirrel and it is a wildlife.
Impressed and excited about the giant sequoia that has never been seen before.
The entire Giant Sequoia tree, including this tree, seems to have survived by the wildfire, and the seeds of Sequoia will not fall without the heat of the fire, and will only germinate in the ashes of the wildfire. is.

This tree itself will not be damaged by fire, but the black burnt trunk will be covered with a bark that will heal naturally. If there was no wildfire, the world's largest tree might have been extinct.
When we went there, the smoke was amazing, so it seemed to be a fire when I thought there were a lot of people doing BBQ.
Natural and amazing.

I was able to do a lot of things that I cannot usually experience.
Please go! !

Totally worth visiting to see the redwood trees. You can stay in visalia which is 45 minutes from the entrance and then it is almostc1 hr drive uphill with lots of winding roads. In winter it snows at the top, so they ask you to carry snow chain at the entrance. We visited the General Sherman tree an old redwood tree.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!! What a beautiful place! I'm so glad we visited. I have a couple suggestions, though: lower the speed limits on the road up and down the mountains; paint the yellow lane lines and the white shoulder line; ensure all the sharp and hairpin turns are marked in advance so drivers can prepare; clearly inform visitors that there is a SIGNIFICANT drive before reaching the Big Trees!!! And increase the amount of parking, and ANGLED parking in order to enjoy the scenery at this beautiful park! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE WORK BEING DONE EVERY DAY to preserve this amazing and beautiful wonderland!

Wonderful place. I recommend walking the Congres Trail. It starts near General Sherman and in about 40 minutes you can see many beautiful trees. When people resisted at the largest Sequoia, we passed 3 people on the trail.

It's still closed. The drive is a lot of windy road so if you're the motion sickness type, bring a bag. So much beautiful scenery makes it so worth the drive. Very quiet and peaceful. The air is so crisp. We didn't get to drive all the way in because the gates were still closed but you have other alternatives.
