A brilliant enjoyable family day out. So exciting to see the large multilayered tank. The aquarium is wonderfully set up and a super accessible attraction to visit. Staff were all very informative and personable.

Really nice aquarium, I was impressed. Large spaces, very large tanks, a nice path of explanations and curiosities between the different environments. Super recommended, especially in less crowded hours, to enjoy the peace and quiet that make it a special place.

A oceanic voyage of discovery. The volunteer staff members have a wealth of knowledge and experience about all the aquatic life and for me and my little boy made our day out. Some fascinating marine life I have never seen in the flesh before and you get a free year pass included in your entry which is great value if you live near Plymouth. We will be back soon.

Great for entertaining kids on a rainy day the tanks are full of different species of fish and there are lots of facts to keep young minds interested. The volunteers are friendly and there is colouring available. The soft play is quite small and aimed at young children but allows kids to let off steam for an hour although there is a small additional charge for this.

Great few hours fun with the kids, very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Great that you get to return for free for a whole year after.
Cafe a tad expensive though.
Worthwhile trip for a few hours entertainment.

I have been to various aquariums. I think it's a very good aquarium for children to take up environmental issues. However, for me who thought that I could see various fish, it was not enough; (So the self meter is 2

Huge fan of the aquarium. We bought my son here when he was a baby and he's in primary school now and he still loves it. Lots to see, and it doesn't get too crowded, so you can see everything. Lots of interaction for kids, from looking at hiding fish to crafts. They have a cafe or you can bring a picnic. Plenty of seats by the big tanks so you can have a rest of you need to. Staff are really helpful and if they don't know an answer they'll find out.

An absolute must see if you are anywhere near. A phenomenal display of marine life, with real emphasis on the incredible variety to be found close by, in Plymouth Sound and the ocean around us. The final treat is a huge display of tropical reef fish. For what it is, the entry price is reasonable.

I really like coming here each year for my birthday and mothers day.
Each time I come my children get more and more into all that surrounds them.
A few areas need a bit more to it but that's my own view other then that I always love my visit and a membership could be on the horizon.

Nice very of different species! Super cheap entry with the option to have it as a yearly pass! The octopus feeding talk was amazingly eventful and fun! Such playful and curious creatures! And as always, you can find Nemo here hehe

Loves this place as did my 2 and 5 year olds. We spent a goog 5 hours here with the kids taking in all the talks and feeding times. Fascinating place. Yes you could possibly walk round in less than an hour but take your time.

I came here with the University of Plymouth Shooting Club to film their end of year meal. There was a starter, main and dessert which were all surprisingly very good. The place was very hot but I did enjoy my time here.

So expensive for the hour or so we spent here, and no where near as big as we thought it was going to be.

It does come with a pass for the year, but seeing as we were down on holiday and not likely to come back this was a bit wasted on us.

Always worth a visit on a rainy day in Plymouth. We hold an annual pass and this place never disappoints. Getting entry is always somewhat confusing as there are two desks nowhere near to each other with two separate queues: priority pass holders and the mere mortals. If you hold an annual pass without priority, you have to queue like everyone else (apart from the first time when you are signing up for it), which kind of beggars belief as it only involves a non-chalant 18-year old glancing at your pass to let you through.
Another curious phenomenon is if upon arrival you find yourself in an empty "non-priority" queue with no one at your desk, you would never be processed by another desk - oh no! - you have to wait for the person assigned to the correct desk to return to look at your pass even if priority desk is empty! There is just a general lack of enthusiasm from the ticketing staff. My partner once asked where additional step-stools could be found, foolishly suggesting they may all be collected near the Gift Shop at the end of the walkthrough. "Why would they be there?" - was the reply. "Because it's where people abandon them at the end of their visit maybe? Could you check?" "Well, they definitely would not be THERE!" Went to look ourselves and - voila! - there they all were - sitting by the Gift Shop. But hey-ho.
The staff who give talks are very knowledgable (I wish our kids would let us stop and listen to them just the once!) The exhibits are well maintained and the kids craft area is fun whenever we visit it. The shark tank is particularly impressive and is the largest in the UK if I am not mistaken. Definitely worth a visit!

Always a great visit, and it's no extra cost to make your ticket an annual return so well worth it.
Plenty to see and do, amazingly helpful and friendly staff and of course plenty of sea critters to see as well!
Greatly recommend a visit if you haven't been or even if you simply haven't visited in a while.

Some of the exhibits are just stunning but there is an almost complete lack of information to explain what they are. Be aware also that the footbridge from the Barbican is currently closed so you will need to walk around the harbour or take another route.

A good morning or afternoon's distraction with the kids. Very educational and stunning exhibits. Cafe is great too, with a gluten free menu. Worth it for the contribution to our marine conservation too.
