Aquarium does some great work for the conservation of wildlife and marine environments but sadly it only took an hour to go around it all with bathroom breaks. I keep a marine fishtank myself and a lot of what they have on show (other than endangered or rare species) are things I care for or could buy in a local aquatics store.

We took our seven month old baby to visit the aquarium today, and for the first time she was really engaged with it. She was fascinated by all the fish and other fauna. The staff and volunteers were helpful and informative and the aquarium was fantastic as always.

I love visiting the aquarium with my 17mo daughter. She always finds it fascinating and there is plenty to keep her occupied without the place feeling too massive. Staff always really helpful and friendly.

Fantastic place, really interesting and a great rainy day activity. Lots to see and do, interesting talks and friendly staff. Huge gift shop with lots of different items to suit all budgets. Restaurant supplies decent food at a reasonable price and a nice choice of items.

I would highly recommend going here. All the exhibits are great and anyone wearing a blue t shirt is very knowledgeable about the exhibits and are very very happy to share that with anyonw who asks.

Perfect way to spend a few hours and the staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Pay once and revisit anytime in 1 year for free is a very good deal . Gift shop a bit pricey but it all goes towards the conservation and running of the aquarium.

Quite cool. It's not expensive for what they offer; I suggest the 1-year membership.
Only downfall is that sound bouces off the hard surfaces. Therefore a visit with a lot of screaming children will leave you reaching for paracetamol as soon as you get home.

An amazing aquarium for all ages especially my brother he s two. He loved watching all of the sharks swim around and the fish. But the reason this is 4 star is because it s the price and it s a bit small.

This is a very good visit. Very informative. Get very close to the fish. Will informed helpful staff. It was reasonably quiet when we visited on a mixed weather Friday afternoon. However I cannot give 5* as the shop had no ordinary More

Fantastic! The price of the day ticket not only got us in all day but extends to all year as well. They even allowed a gift aid option. The staff were friendly and knew alot about the fish and biology in each area. The talks and shows were enjoyable and lots of kids were involved practically as well. The animals were beautiful to see and so close you could almost reach out and touch them. Lots of information and a lovely day out. Their canteen was nice, the hot food was a little basic but better priced than the surrounding restaurants. Great for families and couples.

An absolutely fantastic day out. Loved by all the family from age 2 to 79. Great exhibits (though some of the information panels need redoing as they are wearing). Can get very busy, and therefore loud for those sensitive( maybe more quiet times?)

Well worth a visit or two. Tickets are not cheap for a single visit, but the Annual Pass means that subsequent visits over a 12 month period are free.
The Aquarium is accessible for pedestrians from the Barbican over a small footbridge. This is closed when boats are entering or leaving Sutton Harbour.
The route through the Aquarium can be followed by people with mobility difficulties, using ramps and passenger lifts. Displays are well lit and at a suitable height for all. Much of the information about marine conservation is aimed at children to develop their awareness of the effects of ocean pollution.
The highlight of the visit is the main tank, the largest in the U.K.
Many types of fish can be viewed in near natural conditions.
A programme of events is arranged on a daily basis.
Snacks and drinks are available at the Waves Cafe inside the Aquarium. Outside the Aquarium is a seafood restaurant and takeaway.

Nice

No clear indication that prepaid tickets had another entrance until we queued for 20 minutes! The large glass wall tank had a presentation screen in front covering half of it so couldn't see most of fish. Possibly the worst aquarium I have ever been too.

Lovely morning with friends and little ones. One way system in place to keep you Covid safe and not cross paths with anyone. Staff on hand to give information on the fish. Recommend having a snack by the shark tank as peaceful.
