A must see in Ottawa. Helpful staff along the way. The current exhibits are awsome with new ones under construction making it a wonderful facility to visit every so often, especially on a cold and or rainy day. Good inside, paid parking.

Canada's main art museum and one of the most important in America including the USA, well structured, functional and with innumerable works of art by Canadian, American and European artists, you will be amazed they have a store and cafeteria that is always appreciated.

Gallery is absolutely beautiful. Free weekend parking at the World Trade Center coupled with a nice walk to the gallery.

Great exhibitions, some classics and also modern art ! More about painting and photos than sculptures. A must in Ottawa

The National Gallery was under partial renovation. We unfortunately missed out on some of its architectural splendor. We spent our entire visit at the temporary exhibition: Impressionist Treasures of the Ordrupgaard Collection.

The exhibition was well organized and the locale was great. No squeaky floors or poor lighting. There was even a few video rooms screening short documentary on the history of the Ordrupgaard Collection and the fashion trends of that time. The Collection had more variety however there are less from the big names. One a few Renoir and Monet. I am sure more can be found at Ordrupgaard Museum in Copenhagen.

I look forward to return and explore the rest of the National Gallery.

Amazing!! Beautiful Group of Seven collection!! Loved it!!

Honestly, my 10 month old baby loved it. The staff was very friendly and waved back to her.

Great place for art lovers ... So many different types of pieces to view. Another beautiful building as well!

I have been coming to the NAG since 1964. The Gaugin Portrait exhibt is stunning. Don't miss it. Become a member as all exhibts are free and you bet discoints at the store, the cafeteria, parking and more.

Apart from the exhibitions, it is a beautiful building and you will have gorgeous views from it. A must see in Ottawa,

Still an incredible building, great place to spend a couple of hours and soak up some culture.

Excellent place for a visit. I never get tired of the art exhibits. Definitely a must visit when in Ottawa.

Thursdays are free and it is a beautiful building, one of my favorite spots to spend time in in Ottawa, also love the new exhibits!

Some cool things to look at. Some security are unnecessarily uptight. Got told to take another step back while in an empty room 1 meter from the art.

Very interesting building, the National Gallery of Canada. Even the building is impressive, especially one who from Major's Hill Park across runs. The National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa is one of the leading art museums in Canada.

They have a good space. Very nice gallery. There are good collection of paintings. The place is kept clean. There are places to sit in & relax a bit.

It's simply the best collection of art in Canada by far. The contemporary collection is spectacular. The descriptions of the art are well done and augment the experience. Plan for a leisurely visit: it's a restful and thought provoking place.

A huge Art Gallery in Canada's capitol of Ottawa. Although, there is much construction in progress throughout the museum, one could spend days marveling over the art treasures there. We went specifically to see the Impressionists collection on loan from Holland, which was very extensive and enjoyable. These are available till September.

Come and enjoy all the history that this national gallery museum in Canada gives us.
Where you have all the information as the culture of all people was developed from the beginning, a place where you can move to the past and see how things used to be lived with the Catholic Church in an excellent place and it is highly recommended to visit it With the family I loved knowing a part of their culture in the future I hope to return and I will stay the hours sheltered from all that information that provides us.

Great art collection, constantly updated. I'm a member. I go often. I live in Ottawa. If you're a tourist this is a must see.

Huge place. Lots of arts to be discovered. Thursday night admission is free.

Good national gallery BUT when I was there big parts were closed for restaging exhibits AND it is not visitor friendly to find a specific piece by a specific artist. I had to ask two people who searched a data base and they thought the piece I wanted to see was in storage? Also the restaurant was closed?

Lovely exhibit featuring the impressionist collection from Copenhagen. The paintings are lesser known works from famous painters but the written captions were educational. We spent a little over an hour at the exhibit and then spent some time wandering the rest of the gallery.

Great place for people who are into both fine arts and contemporary art.

Last year I saw Van Gogh's Amsterdam exhibition, and this summer on Gauguin, his friend at Otrava.

It`s a wonderfull place. Nice exhibitions, polited workers and amazing lightely spaces. If you like arts, do not miss it.

It's so beautiful relaxing & for some reason I was inspired by the painting and art if you are local or not it's a must see remember Thursday night free entry to the museum.

Lots and lots to see here very cool building with lots of all sorts of arts. Worth seeing

Stunning museum and magnificent Canadian and Indigenous art collections

Great art and beautiful building. Under a lot of construction though.

The building is as beautiful as the art it houses. There's plenty of medieval and renaissance paintings, which is my preference.

Great place with art from many styles and eras. There is a restaurant in the museum, however there are also some places to sit and eat your own food. Bags are not allowed in the exhibition hall and should be dropped off at the coat check.

Fantastic gallery, a must go if you enjoy art and are in Ottawa or Gatineau.

The architecture of this place alone is worth a visit, but their collection is great! As someone who is relatively knowledgable of art, I appreciate their curated collection. It's also a great visit for someone who isn't super into art as well. My husband made use of their audio tour and he said he learnt a lot about the art and actually enjoyed his visit.

Fabulous experience. Something for everyone in this wide variety of exhibits

The "Artissimo" activities are excellent for entertaining children. My granddaughter told me it was the best day of her life.

Overpriced. They shouldn't need to charge so much, should be subsidized.

Loved the Canadian and Indigenous exhibit. Canada's artistic history well presented. Learned a lot and would highly recommend to both international tourists and Canadians alike.

You can enjoy ans feel more If you are enthusiastic in paintings and understand art.

We enjoyed our family visit to this great museum. Incredible architectureand works of aert.

Recommended place to visit in Ottawa. It has some great art works from the Renaissance Era, Native American artworks and Modern Art. The building is pretty modern and well built.
Ticket prices should be a bit lower

100% must see! Two attempts were not enough, I would love to come back and enjoy the vibe of art there. Better to secure at least 3 hours for one visit, the collection is very impressive.

We visit often being members has perks. The exhibits are great some are permanent for you to visit year round. Other exhibits change out to make way for exciting experiences. They have an old chapel on the lower level that is beautiful.

Amazingly organized and friendly staff giving great directions. Great protocols in place, we felt very safe. Art was well displayed and well organized.

Museum with interesting exhibition proposals. No crush, it changes major international cities where after tail tail more difficult to see the works.

A great place to be inspired, a great place to discover all kinds of art. I love the contemporary gallery. The giftshop is amazing too. Some really great exhibits come here as well.
