A great selection of Paintings and selected artworks from all over the world. I really enjoyed the Inuit & Renaissance sections.
The museum also has a cafe if you care to dine or grab a drink.

Very beautiful place. Part of it was under renovation. The entrance fee is payable.
I was there for Paul Gauguin's exhibition. Very appreciated the exhibition with the family as well as the setting and the environment. I loved.
This museum has tons of impressionist paintings and endless rooms to wander. Very nice facility.
Beautiful architecture and wonderful shows and oermanent collection.
Huge art Gallary filled with lots of different art work from Canada. The entrance is currently under construction, however the inside is not affected at all. The gift shop has lots of different art replica you can but and bring home.
Great collection and Canadian content. A must see for Canadians and visitors alike.
Too expensive tickets and it wasn't worth it for me. If you are into painting then you might to try. It's kinda boring place for me.
The permanent exhibition is revelatory about the Canadian culture. Must see. And the temporary ones are, as far as I saw them, are attractive and well curated.
A must go to when you are visiting Ottawa. Lots of amazing art of all different shapes and sizes and you get to interact with the art and take a ton of unique pictures. Would go back again next time when I am in Ottawa!
This is art. Apparently lol. It was great. Loved the different galleries.
Interesting and varied museum; if it does not have many masterpieces, on the other hand we can see a very beautiful collection of furniture design and contemporary.
Beautiful museum to visit with family, great galleries and exceptional works of art very well presented and explained. Temporary exhibitions very well mounted.
Covered parking is popular, especially in winter and at an affordable price.
The proximity of the market allows to find a restaurant to share our artistic opinions ...
On Canada's 150th year it is an embarrassment that the Canadian artists Exhibit's would be closed. this is not putting our best foot forward as a home school family traveling across Canada coast to coast to coast this is just another disappointment of our nations capital
Spectacular museum! Will return many times with family.
Stunning and loved every minute of it. Also being labour day weekend the entry is free. Which is amazing and a must visit when in down town ottawa.
It's amazing, the Pollok is really cool and the Van Gogh's are really beautifuls
I bought a membership this year
And have not regretted it!
Just a pity that not enough rooms open when we came, great architecture
Saw the TIFF film Moonlight and enjoyed the Tapas. Wonderful night, great place and unbelievably good food.
A must if you visit Ottawa even if it's only to check out the buidling's modern architecture. Great Canadian art collection .
Great variety of galleries. Appropriately priced. Must see visit during time spent in Ottawa.
Visit of the museum for the first time. My cousin took us there. We walked around all the places. Some works we liked more than others, among others the whales made with patio chairs made by artist Brian Jungen from Fort St-Jonh, British Columbia.
Absolutely amazing gallery! Totally worth the money !!
Amazing gallery! Free after 5 on thursdays. Always a good time and nice to see. On this particular visit I met a really friendly security guard and he had some really great advice on what to check out. Wish I got his name! Shout out to that guy!
Home to great art and great art installations. Mobility devices are offered and the art installations are renowned.
lots of renovations underway at the entrance. after that it's very beautiful. a rewarding but expensive visit.
So spacious and uncrowded, even on a Sunday morning.
Really good gallery... Im not the most artistic person and not impressed quite a lot by art but this was an extremely fun visit..
The gallery is amazing!! You can use the telescope to see the moon!!!And always a wonderful place to visit and capture some interesting pictures
Put on your comfy shoes, check your coat and get ready to spend many hours wandering the gallery! Permanent collection includes the Group of Seven, Contemporary Art, Modern Art, Inuit and North West Coast. There is something for every area of interest. The gift shop also has a great selection of books, art supplies, stationary and posters depicting the artwork from the artists seen in the gallery and jewellery. We spent almost 4 hours and saw just about everything so hopefully that gives you an idea of the time needed.
Wonderful place to spend an afternoon and lose yourself in the wide ranging exhibits. Physical distancing easily maintained. Thursdays are free. Make the most of what Ottawa/Gatineau offers.
Actually superb they have famous paintings I never thought I would see in canada
A must see...the scope of the Canadian art is wondeful.
A lot of collection of Canadian artist especially group of seven. A great collection of masterpieces from Monet, Vaughn, etc. Family friendly!! Lots of fun for kids especially in family day. Must-see place if you are visiting the Capital or want a fun place for your kids in those rainy days.
The second most-photographed structure in Ottawa. A must-see as a visitor.
Must-visit Ottawa destination. Beautiful building, great contemporary and Canadian art collection.
Beautiful experience, beautiful exhibition of Canadian artists.
It is a very nice and VERY BIG place, so if you plan to travel it completely, go ahead with time. Even so, the museum can be visited free of charge on Thursdays after 5 p.m., and from there at the close there is enough time to go through it completely calmly, in addition you cannot miss the opportunity to take a photo with the giant spider.
A magnificent building with unique architecture. Worth to see the exhibition. I heartily recommend.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The exibits where very interactive and fun to partake in. It does take some time to get threw the exibit but it well worth taking the time to do so.
Lovely artwork, artfully - excuse the pun - displayed in an architectural tour de force.
Very nice gallery, sadly still certain exhibitions closed due to Canada 150 preparations..
One of Canada's great museums Beautiful variety of collections. We have a great time.
Not as good as i thought it would be I have seen much better ones then this museum.
Great exhibition of Canadian and Canadian aboriginal art and historical things. Sometimes their exhibitions are amazing and fun, other times their okay, but that would stand for subjective taste.
Wow the indigenous exhibition, the whole Gallery is enjoyable I found but the indigenous peoples art is so engaging in so many facets. A single day is not enough get a membership and and enjoy it at a leisurely pace.
If you have kids, don't even think of going here. The staff was very rude and they kept on reminding us that we need to keep the kids away from the art work. The kids were in the strawler and sleeping. Two security guys seemed to be following us the whole time.
Thanks to their attitude, we were not able to enjoy the art.
totally worth the 15 dollars. 5 hours later and 300 pictures
The structure is beautifully designed. Has a vast collection of artworks
This place was really cool.
clean, quiet, respectful employees, and a diverse selection of art.
I recommend visiting the Inuit exhibit while youre there
The price was also reasonable.
No regrets.
Incredible art pieces and exhibits. Beautiful location with convenient paid underground parking.
Amazing place. If you are touring downtown ottawa I would recomend stopping in. Great culture and heritage. Staff are friendly and professional.
Amazing galleries and exhibitions! Most are free on Thursdays once a month!
Awesome , to say the least ! Impressionist paintings & decor ...beautiful building & staff . A must see
Great artwork, would have liked to see more abstract art.
Beautiful museum! So much interesting things. Modern, contemporary, classic...
Anthropocene was not very thrilling. Check out the Canadian art section.
Beautiful paintings by Alex Janvier and the Inuit Sculptures was my favourite part of the gallery
