We visited on a Monday, which meant we could bring our dog Buddy. A good visit with our friend, we also enjoyed lunch from the BBQ in the Stable Yard area & sat outside. A perfectly timed visit as the rain held off until we returned to our car. We will return another day :)

This is a place I love to visit. If u love plants this is the place for u. So many unusual plants and wonderful plant combinations. Unfortunately the plant centre where u should be able to buy some of the plants u have just seen is very disappointing. It is always very sparsely stocked . Could be a very good money earner for the gardens.??
Also the public transport to the gardens is poor.

Outstanding display of flowers and shrubs. Friendly helpful and honest staff. Superb gardens extending to many acres. Easy to find and lots of free parking.
Birds of prey attraction on site with Birds being flown for visitors.

Made our first visit to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales yesterday and it won't be our last. What a beautiful place not only to enjoy a vast array of plants but also to see a huge variety of birds, bees and butterflies. Lots of places to get refreshments and some lovely gifts too.

Family ticket well worth the price

Some open gardens are "so much so what" ... not this place ...
Fantastically maintained with superb variety of plants, fabulous range of settings and architecture, butterfly house, exquisite Japanese garden, and the largest single span glasshouse in the nation ... marvellous

Last minute decision to visit the Botanical Garden...

Last minute decision to visit the Botanical Gardens.
* Paid for entry for myself & 2 children & was surprised to be told that the pass lasted for 7 days! (Please check website for details)
* There are Jeeps to take you around/drop you off. (If assistance is needed) So that you can have easy access of the gardens. (NO extra charge)

We saw:-
* Animal show which was a small charge. The children learnt so much from the keeper about each animal & were also able to hold the animals on show. This lasted a massive 1.5 hours - It was excellent!

* Butterfly house - where the butterflies flutter around you.
* They have a cafe for small snacks/drinks.
* Beautiful lakes.
* Learnt about how to landscape.
* New & interesting flowers/plants from around the world.

Everything is landscaped beautifully.
Well worth a visit. We had a wonderful day.

Very interesting place; not just a load of plants (though there are plenty of those!) but also geology, artworks, beehives and a butterfly house. Lovely large glasshouse set in hillside.

The British Bird of Prey Centre

The British Bird of Prey Centre

WOW.

That's the only word to describe how amazing this place is.

We arrived for the first show and didn't leave until the last show had ended.
We loved every second from 8 to 18 to just a bit older .

There are no words to describe how amazing it is to see these animals flying around, over and through the crowd accompanied by a talk full of in-depth knowledge and funny stories to keep most ages entertained.
Each bird is loved and cared for by Alex and his dedicated team who will answer every question asked of them.

The benches inside allowed us to fill the time between shows to sit and watch the birds in comfort and the toilets are immaculate.

My personal favourite was watching Atlantis the white tailed sea eagle, a close second was my flyover from Midas the golden eagle. Watching a stern looking Dot flap her way across the arena and Enzo the Peregrine tucking his wings for a stoop. We loved the whole day so much we could have cued all night to come back in the following day.

Wonderful gem of a place close to Swansea and well worth a visit. Good selection of vegan and vegetarian food available in the cafes and restaurants. Sea of bluebells on the hillside near the Bird of Prey centre. The dome is magnificent.

Staff were warm and very friendly.

Nice walk round outside on a sunny day, magic act for the kids was great!

Dome was very nice, could have done a bit more with it I think.

Nice walk on a sunny day to kill some time but would not re-visit.

Such an amazing place. We were there for 3 hours with our 2 year old boy and we still didn't see everything. Will definitely go again but with a packed lunch as the food there is pretty expensive and that's the ony downside to the place.

Amazing place, brilliant for plant lovers. The glasshouse is stunning, tropical house too although it's a little smaller than I expected. The trees of the world section will be amazing when it's grown in. Some really interesting sculptures on site plus access to some OS map routes. Nice bit of history to the place too. Will definitely go again.

A lovely place to walk around, not a huge number of flowering plants at this time of year apart from blossoming trees, but lots to see and admire. Return in a couple of months for the full glory! We didn't visit the birds of prey or the huge glass house this time, just enjoyed a leisurely wander and a spot of lunch! We did buy some plants to bring home ..a rose, a paeony, some seeds, and we could revisit within seven days in the ticket price. Ideal for holiday makers in the area for a week!

Not a cheap ticket but definitely worth adding the birds of prey display as a highlight to the day. Informative and some great flights around the viewing public swooping close by . Some lovely walks through the gardens too

Lovely day out. Not crowded as late March and showery. The gardens in the dome are looking very established now.
The Apothecary gardens should be worth seeing next year.
Loved the Ghost Forest. Beautiful wood.
The butterfly house was a good break from the cold. Lovely to see huge butterflies all around

We spent a nice couple of hours here today.
The glasshouse was quite lovely. Such a variety of plants from around the world. It was nicely looked after.
Many of the gardens outside were also very nice and well kept, however a few paths were still showing damage from the recent heavy rains (causing a few of the paths to be closed to public).
The butterfly house was also nice to look at. There were several species in there flying around.
I would recommend you bring a sun hat for the summer months as it gets quite hot out there.

Everything indoor was great but on a rainy December weekend not so much. The garden looked a bit sad but I would love to see it on a lovely sunny day in the summer or spring.
The cafe was a big disappointment though. Overpriced and poor quality. The food was served cold and the staff was confused on how to fulfill our order.

Always a nice place to visit all year round. Prices are a bit steep in winter months when theres less colour around the garden, but the birds of prey are great and the butterfly house is great for photography as well as just admiring them. Recommended all year round as a day out.

A really nice place where you can easily fill a day. Also have various birds of prey displays and talks. Excellent for those who need mobility scooters and your ticket will get you in all week. Also a play area for children.

Had a great day out with my family. The price of a ticket was very reasonable and is valid for 7 days. The dome was stunning and there was too much to see in a day. The add one were very reasonably priced too. We had minted lamb burgers from the barbecue in the courtyard that were as good as any I've ever had. Make sure to visit the Butterfly house before you go.
