Love this place. Easy to spend hours wandering around poking my nose into things .. and that's without the lakes and grounds that are currently being developed. Recommend the butterfly house, good guy there who is full of info and good with the kids. Glasshouse is an instant draw as well, even in our winter it's full of colour. Staff are helpful throughout the site with plenty of input from volunteers as well. After one visit I took out membership and in no time had my money's worth.
Slight gripe with the food available but hey .. nowt's perfect .. Merry Christmas all !!!

A great place to go for all the family. Loads to do for children, disability scooters for those who can't walk so far, great cafes and check out the amazing butterfly house. Soon they will have atlas moths - can't wait to see them.

Fantastic space, man with a golf buggy type vehicle to transport disabled guests from one part of the gardens to another. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Lovely gift shop with admirable range of products. Small extra charge to see the birds of prey well worth it, be sure to add this on at the entrance.

We unfortunately went when there was torrential rain . However, we got to see the butterfly area, the indoor greenhouse, have food in the restaurant, my son (4yo) held a lamb, we saw a sheep dog herding geese and saw/heard some jazz in the conservatory. It was good. The only negative is I had thought there would be more outdoor gardens (unless I missed some in my hurry to get out of the rain). We went at the start of the year, the tail end of Winter. Spring had not sprung. It would be good to visit when plants and flowers have bloomed.

What a stunning place! We visited whilst on holiday and were amazed, the place is so serene and beautiful, and had many activities for kids on site. Once you've gone through the entire garden, there is a country trail walk through the woods and back, which was great as we discovered little waterfalls and lakes.

Nice cafe at the entrance. As you'd expect there is a lot of walking to the different areas but there is a golf buggy type machine available to transport those less mobile than others. Nice childs' play area at the top end near another cafe- toilet area. The walled garden had nice plants in it and the butterfly house was interesting. Large gap between toilets here.
The domed "greenhouse" was interesting.

We went for the first time ever to see the gardens! Definitely not the last time as we were delighted! The gardens are not at their peak yet are still beautiful and the atmosphere is serene! Japanese garden lovely! The Dom is amazing with Mediterranean Californian etc theme. It was raining quietly and misty and after a while we get wet but didn t bother as the birds show was amazing! We were very impressed with the customer service and the care that the workers put into their job as is a week after lifting restrictions of the lockdown. We were able to drink hot tea and coffee and sitting outside in the special area. The toilets are pristine and very good conditions for all utilities. We bought presents and metal wall art from the gardens shop. The tickets are available for 7 days so we can come again even we paid once! Great deal! I definitely recommend! Look to the pictures and convince yourself. Ah...plenty of parking space!

Flora from all over the world. Worth a visit even during winters, where things are preserved in domes. one dome filled with butterfly which is very well maintained. Mostly enjoyed in all seasons except during winters(for obvious reasons, less flora).

Wonderful botanic garden, which we always enjoy visiting. The new Bird of Prey Centre, located on site, was a highlight of our visit, especially as the birds are evidently so well loved and cared for.

A beautiful space in which to spend a day. Best to go in dry weather. Great for kids. Brilliant for mobility scooter users. Tropical dome has a cafe and has live music sometimes. It's not cheap but you're helping to keep a treasure going.

The gardens are lovely and worth a visit in their own right. However the Birds of Prey were outstanding, seeing them fly and demonstrating their abilities was wonderful and you can visit several times if you hold onto your tickets. The Butterfly house was a worthwhile experience too.

Absolutely worth seeing! Pure nature, wonderfully laid out. Very spacious, you can spend more than a day here, if you love nature. Great also the ghost forest!
Price / performance absolutely justified, 1 x paid = 7 days admission free.
Recommendation!

A excellent day out for all the family. Lots to see and do including enormous glasshouse with Mediterranean plants and fish, the bird of prey centre, the butterfly house and many and varied garden areas. The catering facilities are good and menus varied. The staff are extremely helpful. For those with mobility problems carts/buggies are available between venues by asking a member of staff. The whole place is mobility friendly

Just a walk around to blow the cobwebs away. Went to the cafe, and was not impressed with the service, stood for a long time until we were seen to, and then she was quite rude, took a long time to make 5 hot drinks and then they weren't right!

A beautiful and interesting day out. It's worth exploring the extent of the grounds as there are beautiful meadows hidden away near the lake. Plenty of things for kids, including water zorbing and hay maze. There were also face painting and birds of prey displays on the day we visited. Great fun.

We have been coming here for years and its a great place to bring a family too, they even have days now you can bring your dogs which is an added bonus. Every time we come there is always something new happening and we are looking forward to be walking around the lakes and waterfalls as they are being restored to their former glory.

A great day out for any fans for nature and plant life. A great day out.

Can be very busy during the summer but is quite large so it is more a parking problem than anything else.

Highly recommended to anyone.

Loved this place. Visited on the return holiday journey with my wife and mother in law. We had a great day. Although many flowers and plants were turning it was still very pleasant, and we got some good ideas for next year. Bird of prey More
