This is a private club.

Most of the members are in the arts. The building on Gramercy Park in Manhattan that the club is located in was the residence of Samuel Tilden, a political figure in the 1800s who ran for President.

There is currently an art exhibit at the club. Admission to the exhibit and therefore to some of the building is free for the general public- just go to their website and sign up. Though the works in the exhibit don't differentiate itself from much of what you see in galleries, it's not bad and worth seeing. The building the club is in is definitely worth seeing .

This place can be hit or miss. Essentially quite conservative the art world's general pivot to figurative work has made it easier for this venu to exhibit more profound and contemporary art. A recent show featuring contemporary woman artists is excellent. See pics I've posted including Kyle Staver who shows at Zurcher Gallery,. Run by the incomparable Gwenolee Zurcher.

I worked the Artist and had the time of my life. Sales were steady throughout all three days, and it was obvious this was a really well organized and well run con. I'm sure this is a con that'll keep growing year to year.

A really nice building with a really great interior. The staff are really friendly, and the doorman at the front reception, as well as the coat check staffer is especially nice to everyone. The programming was superb, I went in for a talk about Artificial Intelligence and it was a great talk. Bathrooms are a little hazardous since doors open like a two-way swinging, double doors, and with extra care and caution for others, you can totally avoid knocking into someone. Great space!
