I do not eat many hotdogs, but every time I am in Coney Island, I must have a Nathan's hotdog. The bacon cheese fries and lemonade cannot be left out either. The food is great and the service is just has good.

Classic, way too expensive and probably not worth it. So why do I always end up back? Expect long lines in the summer, and much better hotdogs than you know from the Nathan's brand. Is it actually different from other locations? Who knows. Is it a institution that's a must go? Definitely.

A must see for all tourists! The original home for Nathan s Hotdogs! The lines can be long (it is a tourist attraction) but it moves quickly and the service and workers are all extremely nice and knowledgeable!

Expectation vs. reality is a heavy thing to deal with. For my entire life, people have built up the experience of having a hot dog at Nathan's Famous on Coney Island. Radio shows, TV visits, in short stories and newspaper articles touting the "legend".

Real talk: It's a dozen or so shortish lines to a sweaty hot dog that's sat on the grill for a little while (not that long) into a mushy bun. Then you turn around and outside the exit is a kinda filthy condiment station for Mustard, Ketchup and maybe relish if you're lucky. (easy experience design improvement opportunity space here) Then you walk about 20 feet to the side of the building to eat on some concrete benches.

To my great surprise, there wasn't anything special about it. I've even had better Nathan's hot dogs elsewhere, bafflingly, so it isn't the ingredients. I have to say the service was cheerful and quick, and that's the true strength of the experience here.

Although I see the optimized improvements for efficiency's sake, (like the condiment station being not part of the line, which is a good thing) it's lost all of its luster, or at least the propaganda doesn't match an experience on a gorgeous sunny day in September. The hand painted signs now carry the entire weight of its charm. Hopefully you guys can step your game a bit, I'd like to come back and have a great hotdog here.

I went here a day after 2019's hot dog eating contest. Though it's true that it was strikingly quite and peaceful for the place that had hundreds of media spotlights only a few hours ago, the one essential thing of the place remained nonchalantly superb: the damn good hot dog.

Close to Coney Island Amusement Park. Very clean environment and this is the largest Nathan's with generous seating (more than Five Guys and Shake Shack). The price for a Super Deluxe Cheeseburger w/o the cheese, but all the toppings $5.49, large Cheese Fries $4.75. I will go back because they still make a great burger, but they offer a seafood menu too.

This place has nostalgic appeal but in reality that is all. It is always crowded and noisy. The side has concrete tables with umbrellas but good luck getting a seat. The seating area is located very close to some bathrooms which are also gross. The food can be hit or miss and pricey of course. I mean don't get me wrong, you are at the beach... it is Nathan's. Try it once or twice. But I am sure Brooklyn has many more places to grab some good food.

Service was terrible, food was cold. I waited 20 minutes for a corndog that I never got and was given a hot dog instead. I love Nathan's so I will just stick buying it from the frozen food section at my local grocery store

Great food, cheap prices and quaint place.
Staff definitely not polite, I don't expect any kind of fast-food treatment, but the person in charge of the job that puffs you in the face when after 20min row you don't click in the box as soon as it screams "next", it seems a bit excessive.

It has been a traditional place for more than 100 years. It was very interesting to have this experience and to imagine how many people have gone through Nathan's, who has a hot dog and who knows what it means to have the experience of enjoying the famous snack of North America .
It is worth mentioning that the event of the dispute of who eats the hottest dog on a national holiday should even be top!

This establishment has been around a long time and does what I can only assume huge business from tourists, me included even though I lived in NY my whole life. But never been to Coney Island and went with family visiting from Florida. $5 for a hot dog is not affordable in any means. That set aside, I wanted the snap on the hot dog and sadly didn t get it. Bun was soggy. Still love Nathan s but won t revisit this location.

If your a tourist, still say this is a must photo opp
