This is my second visit. The first one was a few years ago.

The room was cold and dry, and I could not adjust the heat to have warm air come out. So I just turned off the air, which was preferable to having cold air blowing on me all night.

The quilt was practically paper thin, and not very warm.

The front desk did offer to have somebody come by with a thicker quilt and have the engineer look at the heat, etc., but it was 3:30 in the morning by the time I got to sleep and I didn't really feel like sitting up and waiting for people to come by at that point. Why not just have a comfortable quilt on the bed to start with, like at every other hotel I've ever stayed at?

Except for the bathroom, there was only one power outlet in the room, in the lamp by the desk. There was no power outlet by the bed, for my iPhone. The hotel front desk suggested there might be another outlet behind the bed somewhere, but I wasn't about to crawl around under the bed or try to move the bed to find it.

Complementary Internet was 1.5 Mb per second. If you wanted higher speed Internet they wanted an extra $13.95 per night which strikes me as extraordinarily stingy of them considering that the room was $274 a night. I would have just forgone the Wi-Fi if there was decent cell reception in the room, but there wasn't.

There was no mini fridge in the room to keep water cold.

The room could've been cleaner. I found accumulated dust hanging on the walls in some corners.

The bed and pillows were comfortable enough, and the staff were reasonably polite (if distant) but after checking out in the morning I don't think I will stay here a third time.

Decent hotel but check in staff said they could not give us an adjoining room with my children because, they were spacing rooms because of COVID (understandable) but then we had noisy strangers in the adjoining room anyway. Not cool to use the pandemic as an excuse for their laziness.

Paper thin walls - while the overall appearance of the hotel is very nice the actual rooms leave much to be desired. Smaller than a hotel room in NYC, also hope you don't get someone who likes to watch TV next to you or you will be forced to listen to it literally all night.

If you're looking to stay IN Princeton, you don't have any other choice... but if you can, go somewhere else. This place is dated, expensive, and service is mediocre at best. The only thing they have going for themselves is the location.

My husband and I had the pleasure of a 2 night stay at the Inn and it was a great experience. The location is perfect...close to everything! Everyone was on point and even when we got back from a very long day of Black Friday shopping and the key wouldn't open our room...the front desk was quick to send an engineer to help. Turns out we were keeping the card in the slot too long...I guess we weren't thinking clearly after all the shopping lol. The room was very pretty but more importantly...the bed was soooo comfy and the room was very clean! The Inn has a lot of charm and the staff was very pleasant, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend as a place to stay in Princeton.

Had dinner at the tap room downstairs. The food was delicious, meet it's description of a gastropub. The tap were mostly ipas and the cocktails were standards with a twist, like martini, mojito, mule with various fruity flavors. The atmosphere was scholarly but could get a little loud for conversation.

A hole in the wall restaurant and bar nestled in the Nassau Inn. The food was good but the service, despite a nearly dead restaurant, was atrocious. We arrived after the dinner hour and were seated quickly. Our server took awhile to stop by for our drink order and then we waited about 15 minutes for him to return.

We ordered dinner and began chatting. Our dinner (a steak and a rack of ribs) arrived approximately 45 minutes later with the explanation that the kitchen was backed up. If it takes this long on a slow night I'd hate to see the wait for a capacity crowd.

We were left to our meals and the waiter only returned when we were done. We asked for the check, waited another 10 minutes, then waited another 10 minutes to pay and another 10 minutes for him to return our credit card.

I will return to see if this was a one off occurrence, but consider yourself warned...

Location is great, right in the center of Princeton. However, the room facility is dated, and crazy amount of machine noise is being generated from within the wall in my room. I could sleep better if I was on an airplane with the jet engine. And btw: the water is leaking from the ceiling and dripping to the floor, though not direct onto the bad...

In the heart of Princeton, Nassau Inn offers delectable dining in the Yankee Doodle Tap Room. The adjacent Lindt choclatiers carry a wide variety of confectionery sure to please any chocoholic. Afterwards, one can peruse the many shops in the surrounding Palmer Square.

We hit the pub for lunch and a few drinks with a large group. We also wanted to see the TV. We were told we would not have service if we sat by the bar. That is crazy. There were very few customers at the time, and the staff was just standing around, but I had to go to the bar so we could serve ourselves. Crappy customer service.

That said, Loren, the bartender did everything she could to make it work. We ended up not getting lunch there, opting for a few beers and apps. We went elsewhere for lunch.

I don't see myself returning here.

I went to the Yankee Doodle Taproom for pre dinner drinks. The bartender was friendly and there just happened to be a beer vendor thete so the atmosphere was extra lively. The drinks were rung up the wrong price but the bartender corrected it immediately.

In the center of downtown Princeton, this historic hotel is well within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. The rooms are a little small for typical hotel standards, but they are clean and nice.

I had a customer service issue with the housekeeping staff which the manager, Nick, resolved 100% to my satisfaction. I felt respected and cared for through all interactions with his team. He must be doing something right in his management approach, which pays off in the whole customer service experience.

Great atmosphere, very good selection of draft beers, good (not great, though) bar food.Calamari were so-so, and the burger patty needed some salt. The service was very good, no issues here. Will definitely come again.

Historic location in Palmer Square Princeton NJ.

Historic location in Palmer Square Princeton NJ.
Street and parking garages available. Eclectic mix of shops, stores, restaurants and things to do in the town center. Site for events large and small. Classic American decor and ambience. The Yankee Doodle Taproom located in the cellar/basement is a large but cozy area. Pub food with some entrees. Prices are consistent with other restaurants in town but a pricey for what you get.

Basic selection of craft beers from the national and regional brewers.

My burger was a mix of quality cuts of meat, could've been seasoned a bit more. The French Onion Soup was good.

Service was fine, will return but not make it a destination trip.

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. This was the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway with my husband and son. The only part that wasn't enjoyable was the hotel restaurant. The food was terrible and expensive. There's a nice tavern across the street I the alleyway called the Alchemist we had a wonderful dinner with drinks and it was almost half the cost.

When you book though, check the online rates first. My husband called the reservation number and got lady on the phone that quoted us over $100 more than the rate that was online. When he said he saw the cheaper rate online she dropped it only $40. I guess she thought this wasn't 2019...lol. We just booked on their website instead.

In front of Princeton University. It is opposite to the post office. A nice hotel with a classic feel. As we can go from Manhattan in about 1 hour by AmTrak, we recommend that you extend your legs and stay only one night when traveling to NY.
