I ve been dealing with McKee for over ten years and I have nothing but good things to say. I especially appreciate how dedicated Dr Caldwell is to her job; her attention to detail is second to none.
I highly recommend Mckee-Pownall. I have had an amazing experience finding a healthy horse (PPE) with Dr Tovha Caldwell. We completed 3 in total. Dr Caldwell went above and beyond explaining in detail every clinical diagnostic and finding. Dr Caldwell is extremely thorough and professional at all times. Her assistant Alex was also very professional and well versed. Kate at the office is professional, diligent, and an asset to the practice. I will be continuing with Dr Caldwell as my veterinarian with my new horse as I have never experienced such a detailed and comprehensive equine experience. Her knowledge is greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed.

From the diagnosis stage of a torn tendon, through the laser therapy and extensive rehab process, Dr Markey and staff have been incredible. Dr Markey has taken her time to help us through every step of the process, never rushing me through the countless questions I have had, and is always extremely knowledgeable in her responses. She has been thorough about what was required, created an in depth rehab program to follow, and was supportive and encouraging throughout the last many months. Communication with the office staff is wonderful, and scheduling of appointments was seamless! I highly recommend this clinic and their fantastic staff!!
I have to say, this clinic is wonderful! They took excellent and patient care of my older horse as he had some teeth extracted. The veterinarian performing the procedure explained everything to me and made me feel very much at ease. The vet techs, stable hands and all other office staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to send my horse here for a procedure in the future.

Horrible service - went to them to 'diagnose" a lameness issue and they came back with "we don't know". Not to mention, the cost was absurd!
Went to another clinic, they had it figured out and a rehab plan quickly - this was done with a clinic I will be continuing to take my business to - they were half the cost including the rehab and medication.
If you have a lameness issue, I suggest looking at a different vet. Over priced at this clinic.
We have had multiple dealing with this vet clinic in the past and going through a pre-purchase vet check right now. I am posting this even before a possible purchase is made as I can see where this is going. All 32 x-rays were clean @ over $50 a pop and now are suggesting the horse go to OVC for further tests. Poor purchaser they are going to soak her dry for unnecessary tests. We informed the purchaser that we did not recommend this clinic and do not think highly of them as they tend to want to cover their butt FIRST and are bad for the industry for both sellers and purchasers.
They tend to poke and prod until they suspect something and again suspect something that may potentially, possibly, I think I hear something, maybe 10-15 years down the road it could be a problem.
We also hire other vets to double check their finding and are reluctant to agree with what they say or have a different opinion.
They must of had some litigation against them in the past so they cover their butts first as a priority giving them an out.

As an observation I do not recommend this vet clinic!
My review is unfortunately not a good one but a sad one due to the negligence of this clinic ..my mare ended up at OVC with septic arthritis and was not expected to pull through... if this Clinic would have diagnosed this earlier instead of diagnosing the problem as an infection in the hind foot.. it was actually a infection in the hock !!from a flush they had done 2 weeks prior. The original injury was a kick from another horse and the current status of my mare is not a good one due to the septic arthritis she has severe cartilage damage and we'll never be sound a g a i n even after surgery- she will be on controlled exercise and medication for the rest of her life and we'll just be a pasture pet. This Clinic has taken no responsibility for their actions and hopefully this will not happen to somebody else...do not recommend
I've been with McKee-Pownall for over a year now and have had exceptional care and service. More specifically, Dr.Molson has provided amazing care for my horse. She always provides me with different options, pays attentions to the little details, and explains everything thoroughly to me.
