Amazing nature, perfect water and waterfalls everywhere.
Amazing nature, perfect water and waterfalls everywhere.
Waterfalls with excellent view..... Natural lakes.... Lot of trees.....
Besutiful spot overrun by tourists like us. Some of the paths were diffucult to walk on due to exposed sharp rocks. This isn't the place for a quiet day communing with nature but a must see. The lakes and waterfalls are truly beautiful.
Plivitce is a beautiful place but very stressing at the same time due to the amount of people that are allowed in. If you feel you must visit, I suggest buying tickets online at least 48h prior to your visit. During high season it gets crowded!! As of this post (August 2019) tickets cost 259kn and parking costs 10kn/hr. Arrive early and bring water and food. In case you feel it is not a must I suggest Krka or Lake Bled in Slovania. Beware, lines will be huge during high season.
Beautiful, if you want to discovery the whole area, you need around 6-7 hours. At entrance 1 is a luggage room free of charge, just ask the tourist info office.
Amazing place to be all the seasons of a year. All the trails are in good situation. Friendly staff. 2 days ticket is nessecary if you love nature.Try not to visit it summer period, cause thousands of tourists make this place unwelcome.
As beautiful as Niagra falls but not nearly as big! Entrance #1 is near the gift shop and public pay lot for parking. The aqua water looks like the Bahamas and the hiking paths are plentiful ! The terrain is somewhat difficult at times and the heights are challenging as well. So put an your hiking boots and enjoy the views ! A scenic drive is available for those not able to hike !
Really beautiful park but really busy. It would help if there was better crowd control and restrictions regarding the flow of traffic. Also not sure why strollers are allowed on paths only 4 ft wide with no railings and stairs...
Fresh air, very nice natural views, clear water, great water flows
They are beautiful, but there is so many people that it is impossible to relax, u cant leave the path either, so you have to walk from 1 to 8 km (u decide) shoulder to shoulder with 1000 more people
We were visiting Split and we took a guided tour bus. It takes about 3 hours to get there but it's totally worth. Astonishing views of waterfalls, crystal clear water, a lot of fish. Take some extra clothes with you, even if it's summer, it can be a bit fresh up there. And this experience it's absolutely recommended.
Amazing natural park. Come early to avoid the crowd.
One of Europe's most beautiful and fascinating lakeland parks
There are simply not enough stars to rate this place. The best advice I can give is to get there early to avoid the crowds. To make it more magical we were there on a sunny frosty September morning when the lakes were steaming.
Great natural beauty. Parking payment slow and only 1 cash register working (cash only possible).
Queue to get a ticket can be quite long, depending on the season, so prepare time for that. Also it doest have big parking lot, but you'll need to park the car in woods, essentially, so definitely recommend setting a marker on the map as when the forest parking lot is packed, it can be easy to forget where you parked the car.
It takes quite a while to get around in the park, would recommend at least 3-4 hours, if you stick to a route, there are no shortcuts.
One of the most beautiful places in Europe! Easy to walk around with little kids. Highly recommend to visit!
Poorly organized, too expensive, too crowded. About 25 EUR entrance fee is already way too expensive. They additionally charge about 1 EUR per hour for parking. Feels like a rip off. Despite hundreds of customers waiting they have only two (!) counters open, manned with completely bored and incredibly slow students. Takes you at least an hour to get in. Remember the additional parking fee?
Nature at it's best. Especially in the fall when tree leaves turn to gold.
Amazing place
Good and easy walking paths
Well mapped
Really nice, everything worked smoothly and not too crowded in end of September. We walked the C-path, 8km highly recommended
If you're going to Croatia make time to visit these lakes.
Magnificent walking route around the lakes... I went after a rainy season and everything was overflown and beautifull, all the waterfalls and water slides...
Really beautiful national park, was there during winter and it was snowing. However the lower point of the park was closed off due to safety reasons, so if it snows while you're there you might not have a chance to go down. But you can still see the waterfalls and lake clearly from upper view point. Definitely do visit.
Strong walking shoes required and strong legs. Lovely scenery but take care.
A beautiful place.A nominal fee for entrance. You can take short or long hikes, take a boat or have a tour guide.Very worthwhile.
Amazing views, great for Youngs and elders, accessible almost for everyone
Surprisingly beautiful. It's a real waterworld made by little lakes. The water from a lake goes down with powerful waterfalls in the next one.
The walk along this system of lakes is one of the nicest things to be done in the life.
Loved it. One of my favourite spots of Europe! A must see
Great. The lakes are gorgeous, the visitors get a free leg day in.
A stunning natural wonder, hardly enough words to describe how beautiful this whole area is. There are a lot of stairs, and to see it all there is a lot of walking but the most incredible scenery for a lovely stroll
This is one of the most beautiful and pristine parks I have ever visited. The water was so clear. Although there were a lot of people, we had a great time walking through the park and taking the ferry across the lake. If you're going to Croatia, make sure to check out Plitvice.
The park is amazing! I highly recommend the tour on foot. If you enter in the morning, at 7-8-9 o'clock it is less crowded and you will enjoy more the entire experience!
It's a beautiful place, but as with all of Europe, they charge you to enter a national park!
If you want to avoid paying the substantial fee just walk a few hundred yards down the road and you can join any of the paths.
Well worth a visit, the lakes, waterfalls, streams are beautiful. We recommend getting to the park when it opens , the earlier the better to miss the crowds. We arrived at 8.30am and it was so pleasant by midday it was difficult to walk freely and waiting times for boats and viewing platforms were long. We spend 5 hours in the park and if not for the crowds would have spent longer. I suggest packing drinks and a snack as costs in the pack were outrageous. Also if you have a small picnic you can stop whenever you feel like a rest and enjoy the view whilst replenishing the energy levels. Important note - local currency only in the park and there are no currency exchange facilities,
Beautiful place. If you go there or elsewhere, don't leave your rubbish, take it with you. Show your education
Too many Asian (not only) tourists, wearing umbrellas, very dangerous for your eyes. You have to wait long lines just to see a waterfall..
YOU MUST GO HERE. Some of the most amazing natural waterfalls and forestry I've ever seen.
Beautiful place, fantastic views & trails. Gas a hotel & hostel in the park if you want a few days to explore the park properly
The park is beautiful, but the entrance and parking fees are damn expensive. There s also no informations about where to go. It s a mess.
What a beutiful park! Amazing waterfalls and a great hike
The most amazing nature park I have ever visited. A Kodak moment every 10 meters walk, and the longest route is 18 km.
Incredibly beautiful park especially in spring when the waterfalls are at their fullest. I only spent one day here but could easily have stayed 3 or 4.
Beautiful place. Nice to go with children. Be careful to have croatian money "kuna" with you as in side the park you cannot buy even water without "kuna". You have different paths to follow although signs are there. Tickets much cheeper in the afternoon after 16:00 but if you like to take photos this is not good time for visit.
Plitvice Lakes is a beautiful national park in Croatia. It's set about 16 lakes arranged in cascading falls. The Lakes are all interconnected and famous for their color that ranges from azure to green, grey or blue (depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight). This is heaven for photographers.
Free parking is available at the Park entrance. Tickets are about $20/person. There are 3 different paths you can take: 3, 6, or 8 hours. It's a hike, so wear comfortable shoes and reserve a day for this magical place. Part of the path are via water taxi; another cool aspect.
I warmly recommend to take extra time and hike to the top of the observatory. The views are breathtaking.
This park is visited by 1.2 million people yearly. It can get crowded during the Summer hours, despite being so big. I'd recommend you come early.
There is food and drinks available for purchase at the park entrance as well as by the (free) train shuttle that will take you back to the beginning of the park.
I'd recommend to pack plenty of water and sandwiches. Picnic table are available at several places.
Don't forget to bring your camera!
It's a beautiful location. A nice place to visit with family.
I have been there with my parents and my father feel pain in his knees so I selected course 'B'. It took 2~3 hours but walking time was around 50 min. Course 'B' have bus and boat. So older people can move easily. Otherwise course 'K' is same course as 'B' and the difference is opposit starting point only.
Amazing national park, it's unique on a world scale! Try to visit out of the main tourist season though because the queues for everything are huge and the paths are very overcrowded
Beautiful, very nice landscapes, but extremely crowded
This one is a must. Buy your tickets online and use entrance one instead of two. Take the route C or if you have time take the longest one H. This place is really magical. Enjoy it!
This place is amazing and is 100% worth its place in the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
There are 2 entrances from were you can take one of the 8 different paths, or even change between them. Transportation is free within the natural park.
I would recommend taking path H, which begins at Entrance 2 and allows you to see everything from the Upper Lakes (via shuttle) to the Veliki Slap (Great Waterfalls), on the opposite side of the lakes system (via ferry through the greatest lake, also interesting experience). It took us some 5h30, but duration ranges between 2h30 and 9h depending on the path you choose.
Parking is 7kr/h for cars, 70kr/day for camping cars (and trucks) and free for motorbikes. In the inside you can take your lunchbag with you, or go to bars/restaurants in the area
There is only a minor flaw, which is however not worth a star on the rating, i.e. paths are predefined and you must follow them, you cannot go wherever you want.
Great location, beautifull, bad weather but few people on trails so it was great.
The famous national park of Croatia.
But not as good as expected.
The management of people is not good at all.
Parking for visitors with online ticket P2 is far from the entry of park.
There is always long queue for boat.
There are 4 types of tour available which are categorised by the time it takes to complete the route.
I did C and H.
I found C more beautiful, has waterfalls beneath your feet. Beautiful sceneries.
H has a big waterfall in the end, and you need to wait for the boat or you can walk around 8-9 km.
Krka national park is more beautiful and nicely managed than Plitvic.
Entered at gate 1 and walked to gate 3 through the park. 7.8 km. Park was beautiful and stopped for a bit to eat at the restaurant at entrance 1. Food was horrible and over priced when we saw what we got. At least I don't have to eat there again.
Beautiful park, lots of waterfalls, excellently cared for.
One of the most beautiful national parks I've been to. The views are surreal. The turquoise waters, the small and large waterfalls, the mountains and the crystal clear waters make you feel so peaceful and humble. I recommend to have 5-7 hours to cover whole of the park
One of the world's natural treasures. Shame they're currently upgrading all the paths. To be expected with EU safety laws.
Absolutely incredible. Stunning views and a very well managed park. If you're used to British National Parks then this one will take you by surprise, it has man made paths built that you must use and is packed with ammenities.
Well worth the long journey from Split check weather and pack a raincoat lots of walking
that is the best national park which i have ever seen i love that it was wonderful there are lot of waterfalls which are awsome
I took the H course and it took 4hours.
It was so nice eventhough the weather wasn't.
Great hiking spot. Prepare for 4-6 hours of walking to see most of it.
Beautiful.scenic place. Clear blueish waters emerald waters and white bubbling waterfalls.
