We came here on the 4th of July as I had seen they were having a number of events. The ticket prices seemed a bit high at first, but after walking around for several hours we saw maybe half of the exhibits on the property. They also will let you leave and come back, even validating your receipt to return another day. Which you might need to do to see everything. If you like seeing history up close and even interacting with it directly this is a great place to see it. They have so many pretty large ships currently in restoration which the fantastic craftsman here work on. Currently in their tent is the Mayflower II. Very knowledgeable staff and volunteers, definitely a must see for any history buffs especially sailing/whaling history.

I drove a group here for a field trip. The employees were very nice and the program they have for bus drivers is great. Free coffee and pastry and admission. Scenery is beautiful. Fudge of many kinds. Great experience

If you have any interest in nautical history, this place is your Disneyland. Multiple ships are available for tours as well as a functioning drydock used for restorations (currently the Mayflower II is in).

I could have spent MULTIPLE days here. Heck...I could have spent MULTIPLE days just watching the blacksmith work.
If you have the time, plan for a two day visit and take a class or two. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I learned more than I knew possible about about ropes, topper splicing, printing, blacksmithing, ship building, and so much more. Everything has an authentic feel without being cheesy or campy. Learning AND having fun... The perfect combination.

Very cool! My 8 year old and I loved walking through all the old buildings & seeing how a seaport looked in the early settlements. I highly recommend visiting if you are into the colonial times.

Mystic Seaport is a great maritime museum. It is informative and fun for all ages. The employees are knowledgable and friendly. We spent the greater part of a day at Mystic Seaport when we thought we would only be spending a couple of hours.

Didn't have a lot of time to spend here and didn't want to spend $28 per person to go see some boats by the water. Aquarium is a better trip in my opinion. Cute buildings, cute gift shop, but unless you pay admission you can't actually get to the water area to see anything. Latitude 41 restaurant nearby was absolutely incredible!

Plan to spend several hours here to make it worth the price of admission. That's not a dig on the museum- it's just big! It's clear that a lot of thought and planning went into the experience. Food is available on-site.

Don't let the price put.you off. There's a lot of history here, plenty to see, and the staff seems to really know their stuff. It was also cool to see an actual ship being repaired for sailing.

This is a great seaside recreation of a whaling town -with the real whaling ship - the Charles Morgan restored and docked. There are many demonstrations of seaside town crafts from the bygone era - and although many of us do not agree with whaling today - to see how the people who depended on the trade and fishing is very interesting. I first came as a child and many of my schoolmates and I have dear memories of seeing the living history here in the ship and in the many demonstrations that are given. I have also brought adults visitors from around North American and the world and they have enjoyed their time visiting.

Please Note that dogs -except for service dogs - are not allowed into the exhibits - this is a heads-up for those that travel with their dogs!

America's premier Maritime museum. An amazing collection of historic ships, boats, and buildings. I'm so glad to have rejoined as a member! They are now hard at work at restoring the Mayflower 2.
