Stopped here for the scenery and lunch. We had clam chowder which was delicious. You must pay to walk along the boardwalk, which includes walking through some boats. We had my 88 year old aunt with us, and only wanted a short stroll, but would have had to pay for the whole thing, so we skipped it. Too bad.

This is a great place to see the history of sailing ships and how they were used and how they are repaired. There are real world skilled Craftsmen on site doing work the way it was done long ago.

Always a good time at the Seaport! Ladt time we went was for the Christmas ride, the actors were fun, the ride on the way in was a cool way to transition back in time. Would highly recommend going.

We came here on the 4th of July as I had seen they were having a number of events. The ticket prices seemed a bit high at first, but after walking around for several hours we saw maybe half of the exhibits on the property. They also will let you leave and come back, even validating your receipt to return another day. Which you might need to do to see everything. If you like seeing history up close and even interacting with it directly this is a great place to see it. They have so many pretty large ships currently in restoration which the fantastic craftsman here work on. Currently in their tent is the Mayflower II. Very knowledgeable staff and volunteers, definitely a must see for any history buffs especially sailing/whaling history.

I drove a group here for a field trip. The employees were very nice and the program they have for bus drivers is great. Free coffee and pastry and admission. Scenery is beautiful. Fudge of many kinds. Great experience

Nice open air museum that takes you back to the days of sailors, sailboats and ship building. The houses in the area are all original, and there is even a blacksmith on site that makes handles for the doors!

The annual Sea Music Festival was lots of fun. The weeknd was filled with dozens of small concerts on seven stages, and Friday and Saturday had talks from people researching the roots of the music.

If you have any interest in nautical history, this place is your Disneyland. Multiple ships are available for tours as well as a functioning drydock used for restorations (currently the Mayflower II is in).

I could have spent MULTIPLE days here. Heck...I could have spent MULTIPLE days just watching the blacksmith work.
If you have the time, plan for a two day visit and take a class or two. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I learned more than I knew possible about about ropes, topper splicing, printing, blacksmithing, ship building, and so much more. Everything has an authentic feel without being cheesy or campy. Learning AND having fun... The perfect combination.

It is a very interesting place in which to discover the way of life of a town dedicated to whale fishing and all the infrastructure that was created for it. It's a really interesting place where you can understand how the people lived there, fished great wholes and the industry & manufactury created around that activity.

Alot to see and hear but you would think that paying $28 to go in , by the way if you save your receipt you can use it to go there for two days, would cover all the exhibits, it doesn't. There is a planetarium exhibit that you have to pay a additional $4 to see. If you buy your tickets at the tourist information center in Old Mystic Village on Rt27, you can get the tickets for $24. I think it's about 19 acres. Loved the Old ships. You can go on board most of them.

Great place to spend a day! Check out exhibits, walk a whaling village, see what life was like for fishermen, then grab a bite to eat. You can also purchase tickets for boat rides. And the planetarium. Check schedules for extra activities to best plan your day!

We visited at 4 pm when the prices are half off. The place is fantastic for kids and adults alike. That being said, I wouldn't recommend paying the higher price of admission by visiting earlier in the day if your visiting as an adult without kids. If you are going with kids, then there's so much for the kids to learn and see that the higher price justifies the visit.

I have been a member for the past 7 years and living near I get to visit often. There is always something new to see, the staff is friendly and a great place to visit any time of year. Be sure to visit the shipyard and see what they are working on. Right now it is the Mayflower 2.

This is a great place. It's a unique family spot; rich with history, and staffed with friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable people that truly enjoy passing on the history of this area. History that could easily be lost if not for people like them.
