Must wine bar Margaret River Review

Service was very good and all the tapas food was very nice however in my opinion all the portions were small for the price (yes I know its tapas but still small for the price). We spent $90 but were still hungry.

Would highly recommend to try it out. Defiantly one of the best places by far.

Cant put my finger on why, but probably wouldnt go back unless someone else was keen or difficulty getting in elsewhere

Worst experience of a restaurant I ever had. Food was burnt, manager staff/beyond rude. Would not recommend.

Nice place on the main street of Margaret River, definitely try the Ribeye Steak, enough for 3-4 people, depending on your appetite

We only had time for a quick drink and snack but an interesting venue with friendly staff and a good range of drinks and tapas to choose from.

We went for a shady romantic late night cocktail and we loved it.....really nice and strong cocktails. Thanks guys!

Really like the atmosphere in this restaurant, cozy and the staff are friendly. I like most of my food except the pork ribs, somehow it tasteless. I'm not sure if it's because the other food that i ordered that super tasty and beat the taste of the pork ribs or the cocktail, but i cant taste it except some kind of sweet soy sauce. Other than that, everything was great.

Really impressed! The food was beautiful and the staff were great. It's a must in MR.

Very attentive and friendly staff added to our enjoyment of the tasty tapas, mains and decadent desserts that we sampled, a good vibe in the heart of Margs! The butternut pumpkin off the tapas menu was a great value choice tasty and very filling!

The food was really good, called only a few hours before dinner and we were to get a space. Lovely environment and good service from the staff. We'll come back again whenever we visit Margaret river again.

Good food, bad service. Asked for all small meals served together and they where served apart and never received one. Fillet steak was chewy

Fantastic food. Totally recommend to get a few shared platters. Had a great evening there, including local beer (pale ale) and local gin.

Spent some time here tonight. The atmosphere was great, the food was fantastic, exceptional service and some of the cleanest dishes I have seen in a long time!

Abrupt unfriendly staff (had this experience before here put down to a bad day but seems this lady always has a face like thunder) definitely puts you off. Decent wine list could be better for the region. Food was poor, lacked depth of flavour and some items were a bit greasy. Three attempts now as it looks so lovely but never again. Do yourself a favour and go check out one of the other awesome places in town and don t waste money here.

Personally, I would give 2.5 stars if possible. The food is pretty expensive and the portions of the food were very small even the meals taste quite nice but not worth the price in general.

And also the manager/ owner wasn't really welcoming even though she's not rude.

Great tapas, super tasty food, nice staff and good service. Would definitely recommend for a group meal in Margaret River townsite. Order most of the items on the share menu and none of them dissappointed.

The flavour combinations in every dish were exceptional. This restaurant is a gem, the interiors are warm and inviting and the staff are genuine and friendly. Fantastic dining experience.

Menu had changed from online, which did cause a bit of an issue with some of our family. Food was quite nice & the chef did make some adjustments to suit allergies which was nice. Decent atmosphere once the place filled up a bit.

Limited menu. Nice place. Good drinks. Clean toilets. Good staff. Needs a better menu. Food tastie. Fish good scallops good.

Great food and drinks. But we felt a bit rushed at 7pm on Friday we ordered multiple plates to share and we thought they would progress through out the night but all of the meals came out at once. We would of spent more but didn't have a chance to order more cocktails.

Solid food options - come for the happy hour burger and pint

Good food, tasted nice. Very expensive for the serving size. $40 for the beef and $32 for a pasta dish. Not many wine by the glass selections. Wine mainly offered by the bottle. The atmosphere was nice and chill and service was polite and efficient.

Nice room but the extras were missing. No bubbles for the spa, no tissues, no shampoo.

The rooms were huge and comes with air con and heating. Tub was spacious!

A simple but delicious place to eat at a very reasonable price. Well done Elkamo, we will come back again.

Sensational food! The pork belly was amazing, the wagyu rump sublime. Highly recommended

The fish of the day was Hapuka and a real treat
This is a place to eat if you get a chance
Dessert yet to come but will be the best chocolate brownie ever....

The prices on menu given to us in restaurant wernt charged and was more than on menu along with we ordered steak Eye fillet and was served 2 x steak share plates also we ordered scollops and was charged extra 6 dollars for one that we wasn't asked about along with ordering oysters Kilpatrick and was served natural.
Wouldn't waste your money or reccomend giving this place try much better food places in margs.

Food average, alcohol was good. Nice atmosphere. Oysters are fresh. Staff is pretty and friendly.

Some dishes were good but the spring rolls were overcooked as was the squid

Nice little haunt on Margeret Rivers main strip that we found by looking it up on google. Busy place with a buzzing atmosphere. Great staff as they were as much friendly as they were attentive. The stand out here were the amazing cocktails made to perfection. The food was ok and that brings this to well earned 3 stars.

We were disappointed. We felt very rushed. The orders were taken immediately and the meals were out within 10 mins of us being seated. The table next to us had their meals brought out before getting their drinks.
The waitress swooped in to take our salad before my partner had even tasted it (it was hardly touched), didn t even ask just went to grab it, we were both mid-mouthful!
It was New Year s Eve, but hardly excusable given the price we paid. The meals were fine, but overpriced. The staff need more training.
Not really what we expected with the great reputation of margaret river, and the other great experiences we had.

2nd time we have been here in 2yrs for dinner and it will be a regular of ours when visiting the region. Great food, fantastic service and dark and cosy atmosphere. Perfect for a date night down south

Made a booking for 8pm at Elkamo, was called by a rude lady called Sharon who advised that the kitchen would be closed at 8pm so "we better get there before then" (we were travelling down from Perth - so not possible). Arrived and was seated and 15 minutes went past, so I had to gesture someone to take our order. Waitress did not use a pen/tablet or anything to take our order, and brought out wrong food items. Food was overpriced, service was shocking.

The food is okay only. Not as fantastic as what was recommend by the hotel. We have the rump and the chicken wings which honestly was passable. The service was also slow even though it was not crowded on a Sunday night.

2nd visit in a week. Every sharing plate a work of art. Come for lunch and you'll have the restaurant to yourself. Outstanding!

Was a beautiful place. My husband and I love it. Downstairs there was a eatery. We had dinner there. Delicious food. Nice ambience. Located in Margaret River city cente. Ideal place to stay and eat.

Food was OK, service was good though, pretty funky decor too

Lack of service and total lack of personal response - completely automated service which left us without condiments, towels etc, etc.

Totally disappointed in this place. The host/waitress who seated us was very unwelcoming and continued with her disinterested style the whole way through. The other waitress had obviously only recently started here and also had next to no experience in waitressing but that is mostly an indication of poor management in not training her to a higher level as she did not know the basics about the menu or the trade at all. That absolutely rests on the managements head.

Then the food was just not great at all and certainly not worth the money. Terrible carpaccio which although it was wagu, it was still far too fatty and chewy and completely covered in a mountain of rocket and parmesan. The shared ribeye was the worst I have ever tried, far too tough and no steak knives provided and in fact the used cutlery from our entree was placed off our used entree plates and back onto a bare table without a napkin underneath so maybe they do not even have steak knives which must be why the ribeye was cut into small strips by the chef?

We dine out a lot in many varying venues and this is one of the most disappointing and poor value experiences either of us have ever had anywhere!

I do not recommend unless major change and improvement is implemented but that would take Gordan Ramsey to step in!

Epic food. Excellent service. Everything made in house. Good wine list. Kudos for a romantic night with my lady.

I can highly recommend Elkamo. The service is perfect and the food and drinks are spot on. Great presentation and amazing flavours . Do yourself a favour and book a table.

Fabulous food. Service very patchy and, at times, off hand. Might just be the nature of back packing staff? We got the impression they didn t really want customers, BUT really glad we stuck it out: THE FOOD IS SPECTACULAR (and the service improved a bit)

Food was good but the restaurant atmosphere was terrible. Played very loud club music and drunk people at the bar shouting and screaming at each other.

Chicken wings were not good at all. Chicken had no taste. Squid was ok, cauliflower was nice. But overall very disappointing.

Such a cosy restaurant packed with ambience. We enjoyed a delicious meal and amazing cocktails. Will definitely go back!

Average tapas for an expensive price tag. The service was also very average.
