Architecture and cultural experience and with nice guided tour
Absolutely great..very busy but some beautiful artwork..it's a must to visit when in Rome ..we had a guided tour which is well recommend
Horrid. Too many people to see anything. Don't be fooled by the skip the line tickets etc. We booked directly from the Vatican Museum website. It was very easy but we didn't like the museum. It was a cattle market to say the least.
Very busy. Recommend purchasing a skip the line tour.
What a beautiful, stunning experience with the most richest of history!
Must see in Rome
We booked skip the lines tickets for the Vatican believe me you do not want to queue up for hours, i saw the huge line running along the side of the building down the street for a good mile. Inside are pieces of art and wow the art is fascinating . Audio tour is available. You are allowed to take pictures. It was very busy when i went even at 10.15am took my 3 hours with basilica
It is a really beautiful place to go. They have discounts for students so you can enter with your student card for 7 . But you need a lots of time and patience. The line for the tickets goes pretty fast compared how fast you'll able to go inside. The amount of people in this place is incredible. It is practically full. So gather your energy and don't leave this museum out from your tour (and don't go there tired)
Breathtaking!!!!! I have never in all of my life seen a place as beautiful and historic as the Vatican!!! I'm not just talking about the Sistine Chapel, I am talking about all aspects of the Vatican. It honestly does not look like much from the outside, but once you get in. WOW!!! Everything my eyes saw was beautiful and for me, a person who loves art and cluture, this was by far my favorite tourist visit!!
Walking into the Sistine Chapel chapel, never in all my life did I want to cry from such beauty!! Its huge!!! Larger than I expected it to be, pictures do NO justice to the magnitude of Michealangelo's masterpiece!! There was a guard named Luca who took some time out of his busy day to point us on the direction of some other must sees in the Vatican, we are forever grateful for his assistance. Luca was absolutely amazing!!!!
We booked our tour on TripAdvisor, the 730am tour, all I have to say...WORTH EVERY EURO!!! Getting up that early was far worth it, as we got to roam around without any packed crowds and we got to enjoy the museums. Our guide was beyond informative and so super sweet. She even came over to wish us a great trip before she left for her next tour!
My FAVORITE part of the Vatican, getting a blessing from Priest inside the Sistine Chapel. I more spiritual than I am religious but I could not pass up an opportunity that more than likely would never happen again. The Priest was very humble and very kind!! I am forever grateful for his kinds words!!
A must see!!! I will definitely be back!!!
This is a wonderful place! If you are visiting with kids, be aware that they allow families with young children to pass to the front of the line. This helped us a lot.
Also the crowds inside the museum is quite daunting but it s worth it.
You will need easily 4 to 5 hrs to visit musuems with time to read the descriptions or pay attention to the audio guide. So book a tour not later than 1.30 pm. Do not miss the car and carrages muesuem! It is at the end but a must see.
Very well worth the tour. There was a jump the queue ticket which came in handy as the queue was unbelievable!
What a place. What a magnificent collection of object d'art. Vivid colours , so much to see. One of
4 best musems I have ever been too....believe me I have been to quite a few.I known it's mostly Catholic and Roman subject matter..
1. British museum
2.The Hermitage
3.The Vatican
4.egyptian museum, Cairo
Has SO much history and amazing artifacts to see and experience. It is Very crowded, and can be a Lot of walking to and through it, so plan accordingly
If it weren't for the richness of history and culture I'd give it one star. Totally disorganised and overflowing with thousands of visitors makes the visit an upsetting experience where I felt we were being herded like cattle with very little chance of enjoying anything. Such a disappointment.
It's a great museum to take your time to see all art acumulated for centuries.
Amazing place to visit if in Rome. The art is breathtaking by so many of the greats of the classical era. You can spend days discovering new art at the Vatican no problem. I only went for half a day and felt it was barely enough to just scratch the surface of the Vatican. So much history is here and it is spectacular. Stepping into the sistine chapel is a truly surreal experience as you dive into the artwork that resides
On the walls and ceilings. Definitely a must do if in Rome.
This museum is actually multiple museums and collections joined together, it is positively huge! If you wanted to, you could easily spend multiple days exploring all of it. The collection ranges from ancient Greek and Roman statues to modern art, and there is just so very, very much of it.
Remember to order your tickets online, so you don't have to queue for tickets on-site as lines are long and start very early in the morning. Airport level security checks apply, as does a general Vatican dress code for visitors (no short skirts, bare shoulders)
Definitely a lot to see. Crowed but we'll worth the visit.
The place has a lot of very impressive paintings and sculptures. I was not able to enjoy my visit due to the amount of people in it. I encountered guides almost pushing you to move forward. It felt like cattle going along the hallways.
Very interesting and great museum... many artifacts, mummies, famous painter's pictures, cool gardens...
My recommendation: bye on-line tickets!!! Yes, it will be expensiver for 4 evro for one ticket... but you will not stand in line, losing half the day in Rome. Queue just too long...
It's impressive place... We are very happy, that were in this museum
