It will be a very good choice if you want to visit a museum other than the Louvre or Orsay. Immigration is approached under different approaches. The exhibition is not dogmatic and brings understanding to this theme usually addressed in the media in a way oriented.

I did not know this museum but I really enjoyed discovering it. The decor is superb and the collection, rich, is very well put forward. I had the opportunity to have a guided tour and it's a real plus! The temporary exhibition was also very rewarding! There are locker rooms and the staff is attentive. It can be crowded, because there is also the tropical aquarium, but the wait is not excessive. I highly recommend

The old colonial museum with art deco architecture is beautiful. The exhibitions are really interesting and very didactic. A rich programming of conferences, projections. In addition the place begins to be a real place of life with its cafeteria, an ephemeral bar outside ...

The building is very beautiful and its state of conservation is really good. The museum is very interesting and I learned a lot about the population flows in France. The layout of the modules is not optimal. Otherwise a lot of the stories, objects and images are very meaningful and open the mind.

We went on the first Sunday of the month when visits are free. The temporary exhibition was about music (and immigration) and was really well-made and informative. The building is just beautiful by itself and worth seeing. The place has plenty of stories waiting to be discovered

I really like the mix between expo and the aquarium below.

It is a little small but it's nice to do with children.

Big disappointment! This place steeped in history is sadly underexploited, the history of the palace is exposed through two alleys where posters or period documents and explanatory panels are placed on the ground in turn. The second part is well done but all the same below my expectations, I thought to find this perfect place for intercultural and intergenerational exchanges. Unfortunately, apart from a booklet that can be downloaded from the site to prepare for the family visit, I have not seen any equipment or services dedicated to families or to the little ones. The theme of the permanent exhibition is paradoxically underexploited for lack of perspectives and elements questioning the spectators.

Staff was a bit unfriendly and we were kicked out of multiple areas of the museum because they were setting up for something else. Hard to find entrance too. Temporary exhibit was very interesting.

Aquarium is a nice place to visit, however. A bit dark as it s underground but fun for the kids.

I really don't understand all the negative comments people are posting here. I was made very welcome, all the staff being friendly and patient with my questions and sometimes the lack of understanding. Yes it is true that you have to wait a long time to be summoned, but once the summons is received, everything goes quite quickly and efficiently.

It is a place full of a story special enough to say little. Hard to imagine that the building was part of a large complex of facilities, a kind of zoo people of the world. We do not lie about the history of places, in the reception room you can see the model, and the legends very explicit about the miserable conditions of life of people. The museum offers many things to see and allows access to shows and activities related to immigration of course. This is where the performances of the Good Chance Theater took place, the film concert The Battle of Algiers. The outside in summer is arranged in place of relaxation (accessible free). Small concert, radio shows, but also quiet restaurant are possible. Obviously as in all these "chill" places the prices are exorbitant and the food very average.

I was there for the Paris-London Music Migrations 1962-1989 exhibition and we learn a lot about musical influences from elsewhere and anchored by immigration. It also tells of everyone's struggles to live simply like everyone else when you are a foreigner or to support festivals that these days have become essential. We also really realize that in Paris and London, immigration was not at all organized and lived in the same way. It is very interesting because many artists have migrated to France and England to finally have the fame and recognition of peoples sometimes tense by foreigners.

This is a good museum about the history of migration to France. The irony is that being about migration almost all is in France. My family and I enjoyed it and learned a lot about people on the move.

Rich, criative and colourful. Spacious, elegant. It is relatively small but rich, dense collection of facts, figures, pictures and artifacts telling tales of immigration in France. Tres fantastique! No big queues, ok price 6.50 inclusive an exhibition. Almost empty when I visited in contrast to other pop museums.

Extremely disappointed by the quality of the guided tour that by the parts composing the museum. A rather insufficient set and no information on the past (human zoo and its atrocities), the guides "ignorant" even this subject.
Nevertheless, quite satisfied with the services of the cafeteria, the staff is very welcoming. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the park and the facade is pleasant.
The only star that I distribute is for the staff of the cafe.

It is an imposing and curious building, on the edge of a large city park. It dates back to the beginning of the last century and also recalls an impressive Italian architecture, aimed at explaining, expressing a thought. In this case we say that it is more than a doubt that the French try to soften the concept of imperialism, modernizing it with a part of the exhibition dedicated to recent migrations.

We went there on the occasion of the temporary exhibition "Ciao Italia" on Italian immigration during the 20th century. The various elements were not very numerous, but fairly well commented.
Before going out we attended a very enriching point of discussion concerning the different migration flows which have interested France from these beginnings to the present day.

Very nice place, I regret nevertheless the lack of objectivity on the treatment of certain subjects, the lack of nuance. I really enjoyed the music space where you get lost pleasantly.

It is a moving museum because it tells stories and, in general, poignant, sometimes sad or even tragic stories (immigration and thus emigration are very rarely fun games), sometimes melancholy.
Especially if you find echoes of your own family history.

Museum to avoid with children. From 12 years old it can be good. Many long texts to read, a council, have an exellent view! Because it's very small. And so the children drop out. Good explanations but a little disappointed with the continuous. The entrance to 6 euros is not worth more.
