The exhibition on how immigration changed music was really interesting
Very interesting museum which highlights the link between immigration and the economic reality of the country. I highly recommend! (Free entry for those under 26, even for me who is Canadian)
Lovely building and exposition is also interesting.
Temporary exhibition around the contributions of immigration in music. Very documented
High quality
Deeply annoying and tiring, it may be that my opinion but in my opinion it sucks ...
What a wonderful surprise this museum was. Although my children do not speak French, there were English translations throughout the museum to make it more than worthwhile. There are special shows every 30 minutes that are only in French unfortunately, but there are some that are more animated and action packed, making the language barrier less important. Go early because the planetarium sells out. An excellent rainy day activity for kids!
Former museum of the colonies and Africa, this museum has been very well renovated, a giant aquarium has been installed in the basement, there are even white crocodiles, very interesting, all ages, children love
Very moving exhibition on immigrants and rich in information and media
The aquarium is not to be missed. It's very inexpensive, extremely well maintained and well organized. I've been there many times.
The aquarium is not bad, nevertheless not think for wheelchairs.
It's a wonderful place, it gives you the opportunity to learn different cultures and civilizations,
For me, today I have the opportunity to share my culture with others and to learn new cultures.
Excellent place
The aquarium is beautiful. The sheets on animals are very clear for both young and old.
Impressive historic decor magnificent aquarium and museum very playful in front of the superb Bois de Vincennes
Very impressive museum and exhibition, really recommend this place
An interesting exhibition on the beautiful influences of immigration on music in Paris and London, with more than 600 visual and sound elements, which begins with the joyous hopes of independence, the revolution of May 68 and the progression of civil rights....
Interesting when one is already a little informed about the history of immigration. Complicated without a guide for people wanting to know (and worse for kids!)
Very nice exhibition ... we hope that this museum will come back to life with other events of this kind ..
Crazy place. Interesting program. Communication of the XXth century. Pity
Far too academic! Reading reading reading reading. Go on the internet, you will find the same thing not worth getting around.
Great museum where everyone can contribute by bringing a part of its history
Very interesting and rewarding to see the history of immigration in France
Some temporary works are very good too
For the London music migration exhibition; not for the empty and depressing permanent exhibition
The donation room is very moving
A lot of reading
Super non permanent exhibition music and immigration Paris and London. Very art deco frame for this place
The ideal place to witness the history of emigration
Details the recent history of immigration with relevant means but not always enough ...
Disappointing museum, scenography that could be improved upon, although it has been recently modernized
Disappointing museum. The temporary exhibit was interesting but the permanent displays lack structure and depth. It's just random stuff with lots of posters and news clippings. And why is there nothing about food as that is a huge impact that immigrants have had - there is a Chinese, kebab, or pizza etc. place every 100 meters here in Paris and it's a super important element of culture.
A fascinating museum whose visit should be compulsory for all middle and high school students
I loved it but there is so much to see ... You will need a guide ... only complaint: nothing about modern history, it is "curious" to say the least.
The construction is superb, but the museum is a little disappointing since most of the works on display were transferred to the Quai Branly. In contrast, the aquarium has all its appeal by the variety of fish species presented
Exciting. We also enjoyed a conference and a guided tour of excellent quality and free on weekends. A real plus!
I really liked this place that I only knew from the outside, very pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff thank you
Correct reception of security guards and cashiers.
I find the good idea of a History Museum on immigration, less on the rendering.
It is effective to know the key dates in the history of waves of immigration (Italian, Polish, African ...) by climbing the stairs. After, on the history in itself, it misses for certain populations, the cause, ie colonization, it is explained but in 1/2 lines on a presentation of a phenomenon, it is limit . It would have taken a large part, people did not necessarily come for pleasure to France, or even other reasons ... After it is interesting to know the living conditions, of certain immigrants of their coming to France from the first wars to the present day. Good film references, in a small part, on the subject in a corner of the museum.
White marriage with a displaced immigrant: - /
Otherwise in temporary exhibition, there were the conditions of the Gypsies, until today. I was not necessarily curious, but nice photo exhibition, video ... I advise.
Temporary exhibition in addition to visiting the museum entirely over an hour.
I'm staying on my end ....
Ticket price 6 euros, it's ok.
I will only come back if there is a temporary exhibition.
Score just 2.5

Super museum, fortunately there was the musical part.
Super interesting museum and permanent exhibition to do and redo
Very interesting to know the history of immigration in France. Lots of text and photo illustrations.
Very nice and highly recommended if you go to Paris.
Very enriching visit, both in terms of history and short history
History. Old colonial museum designed by the great architect Albert Laprade. Beautiful building.MUST SEE
A place to understand in part the history of our country, the evolution of Europe and its relation to the reception of foreigners. Temporary exhibitions a little moralistic and giving lessons with the monopoly of good conscience. A very interesting permanent exhibition and very rich in live or past testimonials. I warmly recommend this place which is full of history because of its architecture. To do with children from the school because it is a way to address history, geography, economics and the need to learn foreign languages and French without seeming.
Accessible by bus, subway.
The first Sunday of the month, free: no excuses.
The aquarium below is also very interesting.
The Bois de Vincennes is at the foot of the museum.
A life-size history book starting in 1789, educational, moving and indispensable. The great known migrations alongside the individual courses. We learn the diversity of origins, the welcoming or hostile look of France according to the times, the participation of immigrants in the history of the country in all its forms (culture, sport, economy).
Essentially texts to read, documents of personal stories, many objects gifts of immigrants, always contemporary art to vary.
Regularly, mediators are present to present the history and the state of immigration in France and in the world, in order to contextualize our national case.
A museum little known, but moving, educational and more relevant to understand France than the life of Louis XIV.
I did not really appreciate the museum, I find that the space is not very well exploited. I may not be used to museums, but there is only reading, it's boring !!
However, the aquarium is very good, with children I imagine it is very informative and entertaining! Tropical fish are really beautiful with their shapes and colors and impressive patterns!
Interesting permanent exhibition even if there is a lot of reading to capture the entirety
Indispensable. Magnificent building, permanent exhibition very enriching to understand our history. Temporary exhibition on the Roma pationnante. Thank you Mr Stora.
I only did the permanent party (the Immigration Museum). Very interesting, pleasant and necessary even if it lacks documentation on the 21st century. Very complete on the history of the Maghreb and European populations. However, less information on sub-Saharan origins and almost nothing on Asian ones !! Big disappointment on this point. The museum must be remodeled for October 2021, I hope that the 21st century and the mentioned immigrations will be more developed.
Beautiful building outside as inside. Museum retracing the history of immigration. Aquarium to visit also
The online ordering site is badly done. Be careful, the price list is tricky ... each asterix must be given because the conditions change from one product to another without this seeming obvious. Result of the triple or quadruple addition once there .... not cool at all !!! I strongly advise against !!!!
It's interesting to see chronological texts in the history of immigration. However, there is not much info yet. I hope the museum will be better equipped in the future.
one of the most beautiful Parisian museums, unfairly overlooked. Sublime art deco architecture
Most of the exhibits were in French and there was little information in English. The basement is an aquarium and I enjoyed it unexpectedly.
Expo Paris London extraordinary. ..Do not miss this museum. Very beautiful building ... It's not just the aquarium. ..Low price. .. Everything is exciting. .
Very interesting
Show the plurality of immigration
Super discovery of the history of immigration in France. The rooms are well organized and there is much to see, with an organization in sub-themes and different formats (objects, photographs, videos, etc.). And of course, the inevitable fresco of the forum, historical reminder of the speech held at the time of colonial France. I can not wait to return to.
it would be good for some to go there and understand our common history
Well-kept temporary exhibitions, while the permanent ones should be renewed. Particular architecture, a little cold and alienating, similar to the fascist one of the thirties, with different "exotic" influences, in a mixture of traditions and heterophile ideas not always successful. A huge room in the center, the fulcrum of the entire building, visible from the balconies of the various floors, which loses in wonder at the large void it presents and the fresco - or mural painting - of doubtful taste. Welcoming, kind and helpful staff.
Well done and super interesting. We can spend a lot of time if we take time to read carefully
Too bad that the focus is not put a little more on those who succeed off sport and artist ... poor doc, old object, short too little concise damage, is not suitable for at least 12 years in my opinion), I do not recommend except ouf access with aquarium included.
Here is a cultural establishment which opens our eyes to our own past ... sometimes even by overturning received ideas. A real skylight, not to be missed under any circumstances, for those who aspire to be a little more enlightened ...
The +: the we conference at 3.30pm.
Museum necessary and more than essential in the period we are going through
Museum very well done, interested in migration "mass" but also to individual cases. Very didactic explanations without being demagogic.
Nice physical advantage at the museum level, but quite disappointed by the content of the exhibitions nothing about colonization and history is based on emigration.
However very nice terrace and very good chocolate. (The first star is obliged, I put the second for the kindness of the server.)
(Regret of not having seen the aquarium it looked awesome!)
Run to see the Louboutin exhibition! She is superb.
Besides the place which is beautiful, the museum exhibit is super interesting and quite modern. Only small snag on the panels filled with information that could be more summary or fun
Pretty little interest, even when it's free on the first Sunday of the month. The main hall is beautiful, the exhibition on French colonial history is not bad but there is not much to see, no lounge is open. We end up wondering what good can serve this museum ...
To do with a guide, without it a little hard to follow everything and remained focused / follow the thread.
