A perfect place to take your kid if he/she is more than 3 years old. Everything is in either French or Dutch but that causes no hindrance to the kids. There are kitchens for children and also spaceships to have fun. The best part is that there is no multi-media and kids are free to play and create their own world. There is also a playground outside the main building of the museum and the children can have a lovely time under the sun.

There is a lot to discover for children here. In addition to "play corners" on interesting topics there are supervised "studios": crafts, cooking, theater (from 6), fairy tales and a group "architecture" provide variety. The whole for the price of 8.50 , which seems appropriate. The fact that adult escorts, however, have to pay the same amount, is - I think - quite bold and of course costs at least one star.

This is not a museum but a didactic and fun house-labyrinth. This concept deserves to be developed in every city in Belgium! Indeed, a single house of this type in Brussels with a maximum of 250 entries per day does not seem sufficient. We had a great time even if the workshops offered are quickly full.

Museum full of discovery for children who have fun like little crazy on the 3 floors of the museum, various workshops included in the price of entry (8,50 , from 14:30 to 17:00). Blue disk parking in the street. Free toilets. Small kiosk with snacks, drinks and tables for those who consume, terrace with a bench and chairs accessible to all. Then there is the playground Jadot Park open until 18:00.

The children's museum advertises that the place is aimed at 5-12 year olds, but you can go there as soon as the children are walking. There are plenty of activities of all kinds and children can enjoy a space that has been completely reserved for them. It's really super.
Next to the children's museum, Parc Jadot is open more often. Pay attention to the timetables:
January / February / March: 9 am-5pm
April / May: 9 am-6pm
June / July / August: 9 am-7pm
September: 9 am-6pm
October / November / December: 9 am-5pm

We brought our 4 year old English speaker. He had a ball. There were 2 workshops available that we didn't do but they looked fun, probably better for older kids and French speakers. But no matter, there was lots to see and touch. I particularly liked the culture room. My kid loved hiding in the cupboard in the secret garden room. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Brussels with kids. The area that the museum was in looked cute too. Would have liked to explore it as well.

My 5 year old daughter loves the museum even if she does not fully understand the theme.
The museum is wonderful place Jadot Park, the building that houses it, his team.
I had the pleasure of being invited to the opening of "Wings to Grow" and she is beautiful. I advise all parents to visit with their children (7-8-9 years old being the ideal age). An exhibition that leads to questions even as an adult.
I am 36 years old and my parents took me there when I was 7 years old, I will bring my children there and I still hope for my grandchildren.
My daughter already asks me when we will return.
Thank you to the entire museum team.

Very nice activity for children with animators who really take the trouble. They were very interested and the little one full of games outside to let off steam after a more "clever" moment is a plus to return home with a successful family day in your pocket

Not bad but really underwhelming. Unless children come in groups, as they do with school visits, the workshops available are really limited. I don't recommend going with a toddler, as there's not a lot to do for younger children.

Very accommodating. For my daughter's birthday, it was 15 children and 2 adults. I asked for an additional adult because my sister came expressly from France. I offered to pay an entry or invite 14 children. They accepted. Great for 6 year olds.

Super nice experience! The place is really conducive to fun, enlightenment, discovery. The cooking workshop was very popular with the children, as well as the tale told by a young man full of talent and imagination. We are definitely going back!

Very beautiful place, in a beautiful building. It is not a museum with the history of games, it is a three-storey building with various game rooms. There you can find a submarine, an igloo that shows the life of the Eskimos, many puzzles, architecture and painting workshops, a small and very economical cafe for parents on the first floor. Also for smoking parents, there is the balcony on the first floor which is really convenient for a cigarette. But the highlight of the Museum in my opinion is the fairytale room on the top floor. There, fairy tales are told in the standards of creative representation, using the functions of fairy tales, as Vladimir Propp mentioned in his work. I have also visited the toy museum in Plaka, which in front of it says nothing. I highly recommend it.

It is a good place to spend time on a rainy day. Not everything is accessible if you are not french speaking family. Theatre is must see and excellent. Book for cooking immediately as there is only 10 spots per session.

We started with a very beautiful tale created by children and told by a storyteller. Awesome ! Then, we took part in the creative workshop which revolves around wood. All children let their imaginations run wild and are accompanied by adults who are ready to do anything to help them design their crafts. Finally, we did various activities in several rooms to the delight of my son.

If you're looking for a joyful place where your child(ren) can have plenty of fun; don't look any further. The Child Museum is a real dream place where kinds can cook, play, jump, scream, run, draw, paint and so much more. Every room has a specific theme and allow the children to discover various hidden elements and almost live a fairytale. One advice, if you want to cook; don't wait and book a space when you arrive!

The museum is ideal for a rainy day with young children, not the most educational museum, but lots of things to play with and nicely done. Residents of Elsene get a discount. The park itself is free entry and has some nice climbing frames and such, nothing too special but safe and friendly.

So, we finally managed to get there! As in it was open and, luckily, not overcrowded. If you want to visit, please pay attention to have cash (no Bancontact!) and also to the working hours (from 14.30 to 17.00!!). The webpage has all the details and if you call with other questions the people are really nice and helpful. You might want to consider that during holidays there is an overflow of kids and the place is not so big- you might have to either be there first or wait until some of the visitors get out. When the weather is fine waiting is no problem, as it has a nice playground attached. And goats :) On the inside: the place is great for youg kids (mine is three now). It is not huge, but well organised and varied. Everything is interactive on different levels (not only gadgets, but things to move around, to match and to figure out the meaning). They have very hands-on activities, workshops with bilingual (FR/NL) animators, lots of corners to explore and discover. I had a lot of fun myself. There is also a small caffe on the first floor. If you come, plan for more than an hour for the entire tour. My favourite place: the room where kids have superpowers and write/draw their fears on a piece of paper & nail it to a wall, so the fear will stay there and slip into oblivion!

Very nice space for children, cooking workshop, theater or DIY. The children play at the merchant, the hairdresser, disguise themselves. I recommend 100%. Snacks on site on the 1st floor to taste it!

The museum has a limited number of visitors.
So remember to arrive relatively early in bad weather.
Negative point: NEVER seen a museum that charges children 3 years ... 9 (no age distinction in prices)
Fun for the children but better to go there qd not crowded.

Several workshops offered cooking, theater, storytelling ... a superb beautiful day at the museum of childhood, I just remove a star for the price 8.50 per person and we cannot pay by bancontact.

We often come here for the playground which is next to the Children's Museum and which is accessible even when the museum is closed. It is a very good playground, large, under the trees, with diversified games and for all ages. There is also a goat pen next door.
