Nice staff, cold beer and reasonably priced. Glad I stopped in.
Nice staff, cold beer and reasonably priced. Glad I stopped in.
Didn't know the have Friday night Karaoke! Very fun.
As I die hard White Sox fan, I still love this establishment!! Great staff. A nice NEIGHBORHOOD saloon when the Cubs are not in town.
Great, if expensive, drinks and food. Good place to stop across the street from Wrigley before or after the game.
Pretty epic sports bar oozing with Cubs nostalgia. Seems like the place to be on gameday.
Amazing place! The history. The good beer. Just fun
Tons of room, and quick servoce, even with huge crowds. A must-visit if you love the Cubs and Wrigley Field!
It's a typical Wrigley pregame bar in look, but you come here for the atmosphere. The beer isn't cheap, but the service is quick and it is consumed with baseball. I wouldn't come here on a random Tuesday in February, but this is the place to be on gamedays at Wrigley.
Great place to stop for drinks and watch a Cubs game. :-)
Stopped in here with colleagues from the area before a Cubs game and was met with friendly service and great drinks. We did not stay long so I cannot comment on Murphy's as a whole, but what we did experience was excellent and a great place to stop before the game. Would return if ever back in the area.
There's no better burger in Chicago than Murphy's w/ tots and a cold beer. One of my favorites!
A review for the winter days (off-season for Cubs):
Murphy's is one of the best places to hangout in the area even after the Cubs season. Their daily specials on weekdays (Fish and Chips for $6 on Fridays!!) are really good. The beer prices are very affordable in winter ($3 cans, $4-$6 monthly special drafts, etc.). A lot of space to sit and chill which would come in handy for a group looking to make last minute plans.
Of course it's a popular fan-spot during the summer, Cubs season days. But I'm not that much of an baseball follower to struggle through the crowd on those days. I just prefer the winter's Murphy's.
Love this place!!!!!! Bloody Marys are awesome. Chelsea is the best!!
We hosted a promotion party for my brother here and the service was outstanding. They offered us $35 wrist bands for 3 hours and we had second floor reserved just for our party. The place isn't even close to home but happy we made the trip. Great service, great food! The owner and our bartender went out of their way to accommodate us. Our bartender Kelly was so attentive from the second we walked in. Thank you for the wonderful service, we definitely will be returning!
Quintessential sports bar. No better bar before, during, or after a Cubs game. Lots of fun on Thursday nights for pub trivia.
Excellent, jucy burgers. Great place to meet-up with friends before a Cubs game.
Great neighborhood sports bar. Great staff and the food is awesome.
My go to local Chicago bar when the Cubs aren't in town
Get the Italian Beef Sandwich. It's worth the trip.
Love this place.... great atmosphere and friendly folks this coming from a Texan lol
Cubs bleachers are always oversold and seating is limited with larger groups due to first come first serve rules. Great spot for drinking with friends!
I consider this my local bar in Wrigleyville. That being said, I avoid it on game days but I love it on non-game days. They have a deal where you buy a glass mug for $7 and you get to keep the mug. Then it is $5 to refill it with domestic beers. Bartenders are very friendly and lively....not the type that sit on their phone and ignore their customers. Food is excellent too.
Great pre game party place! Directly across the street from Wrigley Field. Big bar...walk through to other parts and outside. There is also an upstairs. Great music in a fun atmosphere. I would recommend going here a couple hours prior to the game. Everybody is happy and friendly.
Ordered food and a beer for my girlfriend and I. Guy seemed extremely disinterested. Took my card, which I understand, but didn t bring back a beer or water. Food was brought out. Nearly finished my food before I went up to the bar and was asked what do ya need bud by the same person that took my food order. Asked for a beer and water like I originally requested, and seemed to burden the bartender who was cordial and friendly with the construction workers from Wrigley Field. All in all, I wasn t pleased. Pretty sad when we traveled 800+/- miles.
Good had ribs fell of the bone and good prices for union tradesmen working
This place is part of the whole Wrigley experience. Just keep in mind that it's a tourist spot AND a locals spot.
Pre And post cubs game No other rational reason you would want to be there
They say their burger is the best in the city... i wanted to try for myself... and it is exactly how they boasted!!!
Male bartender there was extremely rude, numerous times. Sadly it ruined my night. Much better bars to go to near here.
Awesome place. Love that's it's close to the cubs Stadium.
Food is great, nice atmosphere, fun. But need more bathrooms and way to crowded.
This is a classic, fun place to grab a drink and a hot dog before or after a Cubs game.
Nice vibes, good selection of beer.
Good place to spend an hour or two.
Was a bit empty during the winter but looks like it would be super fun during baseball season. Their special for the night was a steal! A round of 4 shots for $16!
I have been impressed with Murphy s over and over again. Being this close to Wrigley field - it makes you feel like you are at the game (which is especially rare this season). The experience is unmatched. The drink selection - great. The food selection - great. But what truly makes it for me is how welcome I always feel here. It reminds me of the Cheers theme song Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name. I love all of the bartenders/workers I ve met here, so I m not trying to name favorites, but I would like to give a little shout out to Lindsey. She is new to the Murphy s family and a great addition to the team!
Went here for a private event. I have heard about Murphy's Bleachers, as it is almost legendary, and had a great time!
A must go to place if you are a true sports fan. They have an expansive collection of Sports memorabilia, something for everyone. This place has been here for a long time, almost 80 years.
You can come here before or after a Cubs game for a drink and some food. But, the best time to come is on a non-game day and a big plus is if it's raining. You will practically have the place to yourself, except for die hard regulars. It was a rainy day when we went here, we got to walk around the whole place and take in the atmosphere without the big crowds.
On busy days, the bar in the back is less crowded, head there to avoid the traffic.
On a nice day, grab a beer, A Chicago style hot dog, sit outside or head up to the roof top and enjoy the view of beautiful Wrigley Field!
Damned good institution. Chicago baseball memorabilia worthy of a museum and great staff. Highly decent grill in the back.
Super fun with lots of activity. Great spot to people watch and make fun of all the drunk baseball fans walking around.
The one constant in Wrigleyville. the layout if pretty elaborate so navigating through before a game can be a challenge. Service, prices, and food are on par for the area.
Good beer and good service! Very relaxing outdoor drinking/dining.
Great bar to walk into and get a Drink!. Bartender are really frendly and atmosphere has always been on point when coming here
Nice Wrigleyville bar with plenty of character. Beats going to he usually Cubbie Bear- this is more laid back and better if you want to chill with friends before or after a Cubs game. Beer is $6 for a 12oz can of Miller Lite, a little pricey but not bad considering the area.
Energetic crowd, good music and fairly priced drinks
Great nostalgic bar with lots of old cub memorabilia all over the place! Plus itbis right across from Wrigley field. It is a very clean bar & they had a huge variety of both beer and alcohol. The prices were decent too.
The ultimate Chicago sports bar with Irish roots. Good beer, great location, and live music. And of course, Wrigley Field across the street. Very active in the community.
Just another one of those places you have to be a drunk white guy coming from the game to enjoy it.
