Great ice cream and coffee! Not very many veggie options but the grilled cheese is lovely.
Great ice cream and coffee! Not very many veggie options but the grilled cheese is lovely.
Everyone knows how great this store is! It s an MSU treasure! I come here for the grilled cheese sandwiches every week! It s a treat. The smoothies and ice creams are very famous too.
Amazingly good ice cream. Almost always a long line. Limited seating.
The Sesquicentennial Swirl ice cream is fantastic. Bits of birthday cake and frosting in with the ice cream. YUM!
Grilled cheese and free tomato soup Mondays. So many memories.
Great ice cream and shakes. And the cookie ice cream sandwiches are AMAZING!
Always a fun place to stop. Very busy but line moved fast. We got to large singles on sugar cones and a half gallon to go for $ 12. Cookies and creme which is our favorite . Staff is energetic and friendly. A
Places to sit inside and out.
The Michigan State University Dairy Store is an absolute must stop if you are in East Lansing or on the campus of MSU. Located in Anthony Hall at the corner of Farm Lane and Shaw the MSU Dairy Store is most well known for its ice cream selection, but has so much more to offer. Enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich (with numerous cheese options to choose from) for lunch paired with amazing soups. Each day offers a different soup! On Monday, when I stopped by, the tomato soup was included for free with the sandwich and a perfect pairing with the grilled cheese sandwich! While there I suggest taking home some of the delicious cheese made right here at MSU. Varieties include chocolate cheese confection, jalapeno pepper cheese and smoked cheddar to name a few. Of course, you cannot leave without some ice cream. The selection is robust and I highly recommend Izzo s Malted Madness, Dantonio s Double Fudge Fake, Sesquicentennial Swirl, Shaw Lane Strawberry, or for the Ohio State Fans Buckeye Blitz! For an added bonus I highly recommend taking the Dairy Plant tour where they make the ice cream and cheeses they sell so you can see how all of these wonderful products are made.
Very good ice cream. Waffle cones are really good too.
If you are on MSU's campus and you love ice cream, this is the place to go. They have great flavors and their prices are reasonable. If the weather is nice, there will likely be a line, but the staff is pretty fast, so enjoy the anticipation as you wait.
Good ice cream and real good grilled cheese sandwich.
Great place to go to get freshly made ice cream that is low priced. Friendly staff and they have a large flavor variety.
Love their grilled cheese and ice cream. The Best !!
Amazing ice cream. A hand packed quart with any mix of flavors is $4.25. Unbeatable value. If you have the option, go to their flagship location in Anthony Hall.
Super tasty ice cream flavors, cheese, and soups. Reasonably priced too!
Best place in the area to get ice cream, there are numerous flavors all made on the premise and every flavor that I have had has been great. My personal favorite is buckeye blitz.
Sesquicentennial swirl is hands down the best ice cream known to man.
A must-visit place on the campus of Michigan State University. Excellent ice cream.
They can be busy sometimes at lunch and if there is a group stopping in, but the staff are efficient. Hard to choose a flavor of ice cream but that is to be expected! I love the Dagano cheese too!
Love the Dairy store has the best ice cream in East Lansing. I normally get buckeye blitz it's just so good.
Amazing ice cream, lots of great flavors! The ice cream and cheese sold here is made by the students, and they alsobrun the store, so you are supporting an education by eating ice cream!
should be better. they serve terrible low-quality hot soup in styrofoam cups (health hazard) and they don't even put out milk with their coffee. Yes, the dairy store puts on chemical-packed coffee mate. Pretty disappointing.
Good, if you want a shake with authentic Kroger's white milk...!
An MSU classic. Very busy on weekends or game days so be prepared to wait. Fantastic Verity's of ice cream.
Best tip I can give is if you want ice cream to take home, ask for the "change over bucket list". 3 gallons of ice cream for $15.00. Considering a single scoop is $3.00 it's the best deal in town for quality ice cream
we Love this place, we went to school there in 1968 to 1973. We do not remember it being open. We did a search, it may have not opened to public until 1996, but not sure of exact date.
Nearby and always tasty. If you get there before 11:30 you can beat the rush. Free tomato soup on Mondays.
Great ice cream, generous portions and you can learn about the dairy process.
I was told the salted caramel was very salty & had good Carmel flavor. It just takes like sweetened vanilla. There was no salted Carmel flavor to it at all. Extremely disappointed, especially for how expensive it is.
Over priced. Didn't seem like anything special after going a couple times. Not memorable.
Fast service. So don't let the long line fool you.. best ice cream around.lots of choices
Parking and the wait are terrible here. But you'll understand why after your first bite!!!
Went here with my daughteron a few trip. The ice cream was excellent! It is a dairy farm so expect that for the bathroom. Other than that it was an overall nice place with excellent people.
Please ignore this five star review... I'll eat the wonderful ice cream for you!
Minus having to wait in line for almost an hour...the ice cream flavors were delicious. The cheese curds don't compare to Wisconsin cheese curds but are alright. The chocolate cheese was the best part!!!!
Must always come for the ice cream it is the best of all time.
The wait is long, but the grilled cheese and soup deal ($3!) on Mondays is great! They have some unique ice cream flavors that are pretty good, although their strawberry cheesecake tasted a bit too strongly of cream cheese for my taste. My favorite is the spiced pumpkin ice cream!
We All Love the ice cream and the building smells so yummy, aaa
Hands down the best ice cream in East lansing. Summer evenings the line is pretty long but moves at a steady pace. Try their cheese curds and cookie sandwiches too!
The best ice cream.
Happy atmosphere
Professional staff.
Unique location
Clean
Good pricing
Dependable
Always fantastic quality. The ice cream is a must whenever I'm in town. And milkshakes made with TruMoo make it a Heavenly trip.
Yum! Don't be thrown off by the long line-- it moves quite fast. The ice-cream here is a must have, and while I didnt get the chance to try one of their panini-pressed grilled cheese sandwiches, they looked delicious. A fun stop for hungry current students and nostalgic alumni alike.
Very fun little dairy store! I wasn't expecting them to sell cheese and cheese curds as well as their ice cream and that was a great surprise. They also make soups, grilled cheese, and their waffle cones in house! So unique. Every detail is special. Even the napkins are branded with MSU! I can't wait to go back and eat more sesquicentennial swirl.
Can't beat the selection of freshly made ice cream!
The ice cream is Rich and exquisite . You can feel the depth of the creamy taste. and they give big portions.
1st time trying ice cream at the MSU dairy store and it was amazing. Definitely going back.
The busiest place on campus. If you not there for there for the ice cream, get a grilled cheese. YUMMY! They also have cheese. Upstairs is an observation deck to watch the students make stuff. Be prepared for a line on hot days but it moves quickly
I stop here EVERY time I visit EL, and if they don't have Dantonio's Double Fudge Fake it's a bad day. Try to get a fresh waffle cone if you can and declare a cheat day.
Rich, yummy ice cream and creamy! I've been to the store and also to the truck. Unique flavors likes Coconut chocolate almond. Coffee toffee also very good. There's good reason it's considered one of the best ice cream places in the nation. Great stop for my #DiscoveryMichigan #IceCreamTour!
