Typical rough construction worker employees, but friendly if you don't waste their time. Its fetch your own materials out in the back openwall buildings, so watch out for the pigeon poop!
As a Registered Architect, I would not recommend Moynihan's Showroom to any future clients. A client went in for a simple counter top replacement. The price came back so high, I started to make some calls around. We later found out the price was more than 30% of many other stone cutters in the area. I was shocked that the sales staff would not have shopped around the pricing so their customers could get the best value and pricing. Additionally, I believe a second stone was needed, for a matter of inches, but not layout drawing was ever submitted. Instead of asking us the question, could this island be 2 inches smaller they simply added another sheet to the contract. All around, very unimpressed with their knowledge of the construction industry. Lesson learned for me, sales at Moynihan's should not be confused with industry professional who understand economy, and value related to the construction industry.
My new happy place. Came in for some lumber, left with some tools and supplies that I couldn't find elsewhere. I also asked questions up in the showroom about storm doors, patio doors and cabinets. Zero pressure and helpful sales staff - even got a same-day appointment to come back to figure out kitchen cabinet options.
For the homeowner/weekend warrior/hobbyist, the self service lumberyard can be intimidating. Be prepared to drive in and load up your lumber yourself. Ask for prices in the store first and pay outside in the tent once you're loaded up and ready to go.
Manager John is miserable to employees and customers alike. Family-owned means no accountability.
Not very helpful at all. If they do manage to answer their business phone, they then transfer you to a line that no one is answering. You leave a detailed message and then no body calls you back. Then when you try back again, the same thing happens all over again. And to book, I then get disconnected.
Lumberyard, hardware store & paint. The help knows their stuff, too. Best-stocked Ace Hardware around
They have lots of stuff that you can't find at Lowe's
Great lumber product, good hardware, doors and windows, terrific selection of Brosco Millwork product. Good tool selection, easy access for loading lumber.
Great products best thing is they deliver which is huge for things like plywood sheet rock and lumber when you don t have a truck
Would have given you 5 stars but you are out of the product I needed which was trexs decking screws gray
The pinnacle of terrible service. Tried hard to do business with them first to buy deck boards and then to buy some lumber. Difficult to get people on the phone, when you do get someone on the phone you get transferred around. Got a call back from someone days later who made promises to follow up and never did. Ended up going to home depot to get what I needed, which is ironic; I was willing to pay more for local and delivered high quality product, but 2 out of 2 times - no nada.
Dont count on them telling you the truth about were your order is
The 2x8 stock was of poor quality. I may have just gone to Home Depot or Lowes
Super helpful staff, fantastic selection of lumber and materials.
Called and put on hold for 25 minutes. Went down in person and waited 20 minutes
Great site I'f your in the Beverly area and in need
First time here was a good experience. Paul was helpful and knowledgeable in assisting me choose the right lumber for a home project.
Friendly knowledgeable staff members...all about efficiency and assistance
Hope you know where every thing is, because generally the People working there do not.
Kind of expensive, novices not welcome unless all other customers are done
Places like this should be in every town. A little bit more expensive than at Home Depot maybe however the convenience of the location and time saved in lone is definitely worth coming in hreh. Also workeds semse to be more friendly to customers. I will definitely be coming back.
They have everything for your home project. Great service.
Helpful staff, tins of bolts/screws you can't find anywhere else. Great store
Great place good people usually have all your needs

Helpful knolible people that will steare you in the right direction.
Pricey but beautiful products and staff are very helpful.
This place is terrible. Friendly yard people but make sure you don't cross paths with the yard manager John Obrien, he will pubicly berate you and call you a F***ing moron.
Went in came out... No one knew I was even there...
Everything you need for home improvement and construction. Decent prices.
Top quality merchandise and very friendly
Sales staff.
Another great local hardware store that has survived the horrible big hardware store due to their great service. The staff at Moynihan is always friendly and always willing to help you out. What I do like about them is that they are not afraid to tell you that you are wrong and tell you a better way to do something but they always do it in a friendly professional way. They are definitely there for all your lumber needs.
You haven't lived until you've nailed the lumber at Moynihan's
