I was a camper at MMR in the 1980s, came back as a counselor for one summer in the early 1990's, my daughter will be going back for her 6th summer this year, wants to be a Jr. Counselor next year, and then a counselor after that! This camp has been a part of our lives and family forever. It has been instrumental in shaping much of who she is today, and is her all time favorite place in the world to be. She looks forward to and misses it all year long. MMR embodifies what it means to be a kid in the truest sense, and the campers know and feel that from day 1 of the first session. It is a joy-filled break from the everyday tech and stress filled lives of our kids, and they relish it.
There is no better place to send your kid!!

AWESOME CAMP!

AWESOME CAMP!

This is an incredible camp! I went to MMR in the mid-80s and have wonderful memories of my three years there, and now my oldest daughter (age 9) went for the first time this summer. She had a fabulous time and ended up winning the Happy Camper award! This was her first time away for two weeks and she did not know anyone when she got there.

Last week she told me she was "camp sick," meaning she missed camp so much :) She will be going back next year, and her younger brother will definitely be joining her! And their youngest sister will be following a year or two after that.

Beyond the wonderful activities and beautiful setting, the camp is small and family-like, and they are very communicative with parents. I felt good knowing that I could text the "Mom Line" with any concerns, and that I could email my daughter and they would print out the email for her to read. (I also love that there are no electronics permitted.) It's rare to find a camp that is family founded and operated for generations -- you can tell the Ellena family is doing this because it's their way of life and they love it!

Obviously, I would highly recommend this camp!

Awsome

My 12yo got a Horsemanship trophy; he love MMR camp. My 11yo enjoyed her independence n opportunity to select her activities, but the 9yo was asked to leave because I feel she was misunderstood for being sassy when it actually she is curious n adheres to different communication ways. The staff let me talk to 9yo everyday by phone her last week, she cried, laugh, shared her story n just needed to hear my voice. CHRIS n Bre, staff are extremely helpful. Two of children want to return! Grandma happy, felt comfortable leaving all children upon touring on 1st day and will do it again. I appreciate MMR, Thank you.

Sent my 10 year old girl here and she came back with so many wonderful stories and experiences. This is the best camp my daughter has ever attended. The staff is great. The friends she made, she is still talking to now. We are definitely going back until she is just too old to go!

This was a chance for our daughter to disconnect from technology and immerse herself in a fantastic range of activities. She loved the experience, the environment, and the close friendships that developed. She came home and signed up immediately for next year.

MMR is the awesomest, funnest, greatest camp you could ever go to. I plan on going there year after year. the reason to go his all the fun activities like horses, animal care, the lake, and many more. One thing i noticed i s that once you go there have he summer of your life, you just can't stop coming back. And speaking of the girl that has made it there for 3 summers. I would love if more and more people would start coming. And trust me you will take this camp as your second because i know its really my second home.

I only got to go for three weeks (session one 2010) but that summer was the single greatest summer of my life. The lessons I learned, the experiences I took part in, and how I grew as a person had a lifelong effect on who I am today.

The friends I made during that time are still friends today. I only dream of the day when I get to visit this heaven on earth again.

My 9yr old son and only child was a first time camper this year at MMR. I was a little apprehensive about sending him away for two weeks as he hasn't been away from his parents much. It was an amazing experience for everyone! He gained independence, learned responsibility, team building, was technology free and most importantly had a blast and was able to be a kid in a safe environment. Every evening I would check out the pictures that MMR would post. It was a great feeling to see your child in the great outdoors smiling and having fun. My son had nothing but great things to say about the food, the other campers and he loved the entire staff. He can't wait to go again next summer.

Went there in the summer of 2013-15. I loved it there. Thank you to chip and everyone els that were there. loved every second of every minute. Truly my second home even tho its been 4 years because of the age restriction. would love to be a counselor but I can barley find time between work and school to take more than a week off. love watching the YouTube videos Tyler made of the sessions I was at and the others. Miss you guys.

Summer camp is great for kids but do not reccomend working for them, they hire you and half way through training week they inform you that they drop 1 or 2 counselors every summer before camp. I think this should be know well before hand rather than be out the job the whole summer and then have to scramble to find another. In none of the contracts we are made aware of this. Just a suggestion for Mountain Meadows with future hires.

I went to MMR for 5 years. Honestly, it was the best summers I ever had. It is hard to explain how awesome it was. 20 years later, I still remember days at the lake, mountain biking, ropes course, birthdays and lagoon tossing, the great bucket relay, 3 day backpacking trips and over nights to Mt. Lassen.
They Ellena's are wonderful people as well.

The list of memories goes on and on.
