Great place to ski close by Los Angeles, Orange, riverside, and San Bernardino County. Good for beginners to intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Gets crowded and lodge has windows but not picture windows if you just want to stay inside and watch your kids ski. Also you are not allowed to bring outside food and drink into the lodge. So can be a hit on your wallet. Overall though it is a good place to to enjoy winter sports in Southern California.

I've been here so many times and there's one thing that sticks out: the crowd. There are too many people. Granted, that's because it's only less than 2 hours away from LA. However many of them are beginners (as in first time) and fall on the courses and sit right in the middle of the path and become hazards.

Prices have also increased over the years. West resort is also the most crowded. I recommend east if you just want a long ride but beware, it's not beginner friendly, and at the time of this review, East is just a hill of dirt, sadly.

All in all, if you go there after fresh snow, you'll be comfy- especially as a first timer. But if you've been boarding or skiing for years, I recommend Snow Valley or Big Bear.

One of the worst ski/snowboard resorts. Over crowded. My new board was stolen and they didn't do anything. In the time I was in the office reporting, in the 15 mins 3 other boards reported stolen. Cameras are worthless they are grainy can make anything out. According to the person taking the statement they have a huge problem. The locals know what cameras work and all the blind spots. Funny the staff knows the problems but the company doesn't do anything to protect the Patrons. Also the manager the lady Black hair ( would not give her name) at customer service window (west) had a terrible attitude and doesn't believe in customer service. I was just asking for a ticket tie and all she did was grill me until I asked for the manager. She only stated I am the manager and tossed me a tie through the window slot and just walked away.

The trails and mountain are generally good, but management of the facility and customer service leave something to be desired.

During my first visit to Mountain High (West Resort) in December 2018, I came with a friend who was very new to skiing. I asked the person at the ticket counter to direct us to the chairlifts that lead to beginner trails, and both the attendant and even her mentor/supervisor standing next to her pointed to the Blue Ridge Express, which is definitely not for beginners. Fortunately, we ran into another attendant who was greeting customers outside (and was much more polite and knowledgeable), and she told us to avoid that chairlift. If we had listened to the two staff members at the ticket counter, my friend, who was a beginner skier, could have been put in a dangerous and precarious situation.

On my 2nd visit to Mountain High West Resort, my friend's 1-2-3-Free Season Pass card did not scan at the chairlifts, despite the fact that she took it outside of her jacket and placed it in front of the scanner multiple times, even with the help of the chairlift attendant. My friend had to walk to the ticket counter and ask why it wasn't working. After waiting for about 10-20 minutes, a staff member returned with the pass, and she acted very annoyed and impatient toward my friend, claiming that it works fine. My friend was simply waiting at the counter and hadn't said a word, but the attendant came back irritated, practically reprimanding her, even though my friend was the one who was inconvenienced.

I have skied a few more times at Mountain High after that because the trails were decent and my friend wanted to complete her 1-2-3 pass, and I haven't encountered any other major issues since then. But my first two visits definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

I highly recommend Mountain High Resort! Convenient location about 80 miles distance from downtown Los Angeles. Wonderful views, great place if you want take the whole family for skiing or snowboarding lessons and if you are a pro it is also great for you. The cafe has some delicious cheeseburgers and hot cocoa, you can rent all the gear you need with them.

This place was so fun. It was my first time here. We came with some of our dear friends that come all the time. I wasn't too good at snowboarding but my husband picked it up in no time. They have this cool little bar with a fire pit and heaters. They only have hard liquor. No wine. ): they have alot of sitting areas as well as a little store for you to purchase snacks.

A fun place to ride when your short on time to travel further. Mt. High is always trying to improve itself even when Mother nature messes with their ability to operate. Here's to hoping they get some snow this coming season.

It was my first skiing experience! I was so thrilled. Best experience ever! Me and my friend visited this place! We took up the skiing lessons for around 99$ each that included all the accessories and skies! We had an amazing time out here learning and our tutor was very well trained and friendly! The best time to be there is on a sunny day during the morning! It gets very cold post sunset! But it's one of the very few places where you can ski even after sunset! They are open till 10 for skiing!

BEGINER Buyer Beware! If ur planning on coming to do night boarding, expect the bunny and beginer chair lifts and magic carpet to be closed. I my myself did NOT even ski or snowboard at all. Just took pics of the family. We left because we had to walk up the hill to even watch our daughter ski.(no running ski lifts on beginer side). I asked for just one return voucher from office and they told me that I couldn't get any refund or anything back. They said that's the way it is here. I personally work with customer service and find this very unacceptable. The least they could have done was give me one return voucher so that I could come back again. I really expected better.

I had a blast! This place is awesome. Fist time snowboarding and will definitely do it again! Went for a night session. Both parking lot attendants were super friendly and knowledgeable. Ticket boot attendants are also friendly and polite . I went in a group of five and all had an amazing amount of Falls. Endless and extreme fun from laughter after every single time you fall and eat snow. Also felt a strong sense of community in the manner of people really helping you to do better, random people giving you hints, to a 5 year old yelling to you too lean back as you're completely out of control!!! Lol, its a must.
Bucket list check marked and going back for more

Had the unpleasant experience of my phone being stolen at the out door bar at Mountain High. The customer relations gentleman was reluctant to help and worse yet he would not assist with rolling the security cameras available. It sounded like boards are also a common item that are often stolen there. Whatch your belongings! Not likely to return again!

I went! Because there is not enough arm or money to ski, it's a free slope a bit far away, playing in the snow.
Is it good for children?
By the way, the sled that our children have is not ours, we can use the gentle Mexican family father who was playing nearby! You lent me that. There he also brought three children, something, Dad was trying to drink wine in the snow and drink (laugh) Because it was nearly dangerous and it seemed to be advisable (even if you drink, your wife will drive, so it's okay Waxiness (lol) After having played for about 2 hours since I said a word of gratitude, I brought back the child with complaints I got complain about!

When coming from Los Angeles, it is like a little park in front of the ski resort. I do not need a parking lot (I win early, everyone stopped on the road) I think that it is just right to play.

Mountain High has a special place in my heart. This is where I learned to snowboard through their incredibly affordable and effective 1-2-3-FREE program. MH has a family owned feel. The staff seem happy and are very friendly and helpful and I feel like they are welcoming you to their own home. The resort is relatively small so reset your expectations. So if you go after snow has fallen expect a crowd, and accordingly, lines. The staff really try their best to make things run smoothly.

The crowd here is relatively young- high school to college age. They have small stage with a DJ some afternoons/at night so it's a fun scene.

The have Rossignol EXP Amptek snowboards for rent as of 2018.

The pizza is quite tasty! Dough is soft and taste fresh!

I love Mountain High. It's really that simple. The season pass is priced well, all the equipment is always in good working order, and the trails are maintained well. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, as well!

This isn't some luxury ski resort - this is where you go for a day to get your ski/snowboard on without having to drive for HOURS. There's a well-stacked ski shop, inexpensive (and tasty) food indoors and outdoors (bread bowl soup is ALWAYS good with snow) and it's just generally a great one-day getaway for folks in SoCal when they're tired of it being 75 degrees midwinter (because it DOES get boring).

Trails are groomed daily, they do a great job with snowmaking (because again, SoCal) and there's trails for all skill levels.

Love the short drive (before 8am and after 6pm) the condition heavily depends on the weather. What's the recent snow storms the slope has been powdery for about 2 weeks. However the warming climate is going to melt the snow and condition will be icy. It should be the normal Mountain High as we know it

MOUNTAIN HIGH CHANGED MANAGEMENT, DO NOT GO!

MOUNTAIN HIGH CHANGED MANAGEMENT, DO NOT GO!

My friends and I woke up at 5:30AM to drive to get to Mountain High when they opened at 9AM. They told us that they switched their policy and so if we didn't buy the Lift Points 24 hours before hand, they would not sell us the lift tickets and we would have to purchase the day of tickets.

When I talked to the customer service rep, she kept MAKING EXCUSES for the company, saying that they posted the changes 3 times in the website. This was infuriating as my friends and I have been going to mountain high for more than 10 YEARS. We are loyal customers and we never had to "check" the website before.

My group had to decide whether to buy the 4 hour pass for $79 per person or the 8 hour pass for $84 per person but we didn't plan to stay all day and that would have been way more EXPENSIVE. So we headed down the mountain defeated. What a waste of our time, effort, and terrible management/customer service.

I'm not sure what we will do this year but we will sure as hell never go back to Mountain High. Guess we have to find a new winter resort.

Went today to the east resort, snow levels were very low, but paid for tubing as they had man-made snow for two tubing lanes. They sell only a certain number of tickets for tubing, so get there early. Expect to wait a long time as well for tubing, over the course of an hour I went down the mediocre tubing hill only 2 times due to people getting repeatedly stuck on the hill and a large number of people who had tickets. They also charge just to play in the snow. I will not be coming back just for tubing...I will just buy a dollar store sled and go just up the road, park along the side of the road and play in the snow there while saving my $120. On the plus side, the food in the East Resort lodge was actually really good. My wife commented that it was possibly the best clam chowder/bread bowl she has ever had. I had the chili and it was also served in a bread bowl, and it was hot and plentiful.

Not a bad ski resort, when there is fresh powder! There's really only one lift to take you on the best run, if you are intermidiate and above. At the last hill, listen for that compounded layers of ice, when your snowboard goes through it. This was the first mountain I learned how to snowboard at.

Worst experience, children lessons package didn't include helmet, u have to pay extra 5 dollars to rent one. and the shutter bus driver is extremely rude . It's 20 degree outside and we are waiting in the bus line for more than half hour, when it's time for us to get on the bus, the driver said the kids must have seat, and don't let me to ask anybody who will stand up for the kids. And he let another adult to get on the bus! Extremely rude and will never come back!
